Is there anything I should watch on netflix to cheer me up?

>saving pokemon images outside of the context of pokegirl feet images

Stranger Things is the new hotness that most people in your classes will be talking about. Only the finale is cheery, though. Much of the show is spooky.

I'm fine With any type of show/movie

>my processer is dying in my computer

99% chance it's something else unless you were overclocking

I heard some dumb bitch talk about it today at work, I might give it a go

What makes you say that?

>some dumb bitch

The lifespan of a CPU is extremely long, what eats away at their life is typically electromigration and that takes a while to act. Around a decade normally. Exceptions of course exist for if you're overclocking or have bad cooling.

Other components in a PC are MUCH more likely to fail before a CPU fails. Typically it's HDDs, PSUs, and sometimes motherboards (the latter two usually being capacitors).

And keep in mind, the 10-year estimate is conservative.

Really they could last longer, but we don't have much data to work with.

I see, I haven't tried overclocking it but it might be the cooling system

What makes you think it's something CPU-based at all?

Yeah, well Ash lost the kalos league.

Here's your (You)

Nothing cheers me up like Bojack Horseman, least depressing show on TV, that's for sure.

my step dad sent it in to geek squad because reasons and they haven't said why

WOW

YOU MIGHT AS WELL KILL YOURSELF

YOUR STEPDAD WAS TRYING TO HELP BUT HE JUST MADE IT WORSE

TRAGIC MY FRIEND

I know, I was expecting that sort of responce

If Geek Squad says that it's the CPU, they're probably just trying to rip you off and get you to buy a new CPU from them.

Or they fucked up while servicing it and damaged the CPU, e.g. with ESD.

Diagnosing that something is wrong with the CPU is already a difficult thing unless you have another CPU available compatible with the motherboard's chipset. This is because motherboards won't boot at all without a CPU, at best they'll flash some lights that signal an error code (and most low-end or standard motherboards won't even do this). At that point it's a toss-up between the motherboard or something vital connected to it.

But if your CPU was really the problem, your computer wouldn't even boot. (Your computer not booting doesn't mean its your CPU that's the problem though.)

My step dads getting an upgrade anyways so they're just going to take his mobo and put it in mine, but they might have to get a new heat sink because its the wrong size
Thanks for your help man, I appreciate it
Well, I was having issues where my computer would restart after playing a memory intensive game so they might not be completely lying

If you were overclocking I would say it was a Vdroop problem, but I'm guessing you're not.

I would say it's a PSU issue, probably from the sudden drop in power delivery causing instability.

It could also the motherboard VRMs that are to blame, but it's atypical for them to suddenly fail. There are also VRMs on the CPU in more modern CPUs, but those are very unlikely to fail.

You've lost me honestly but I appreciate the knowledge

It's alright senpai, you can always read up on it if you want.

hardwaresecrets.com has some good articles if you're curious.

There is no "failing" with a CPU. It will work until it doesn't. My money's on your mobo.

This only made me feel worse, great
I'm gonna really need some good shit to watch now

Did you delete your stash

No, they probably found my gay furry porn unless they don't know what hard blush is

This was a fun thread
