...
I really hate how this looks so amateurish.
Godzilla really looks like a youtube tier fan-made puppet.
Still a cool take on Gojira
...
Good to know that one dodgy shot of him turning isn't indicative of the whole thing.
I can't speak Japanese :(
Holy shit
the fuck am i looking at?
>that beam
how has there not been a live action dbz
Shin Godzilla's second form, though the first one we see the on-screen. Its not adapted to land though and "bleeds" thst red coolant.
It's the one on the top row in pic related
Bottom row is the next form he takes before he retreats back to the ocean before turning into the form we saw in the trailers
...
ah i see. man i wanna see this
>Atomic breath is just the real beam warming up
MY DICK
I love the overall design of Shin Godzilla, but why the goofy eyeball? In some shots it looks creepy, but it just looks so out of place.
Was it meant to be a fish originally?
young reptiles have eyes like that
...
Fucking Anno...I hope he's back on track with Rebuild of Evangelion now that he's had fun dicking around making this shit.
Please scrap Eva 3.0 from the canon and remake it. I'll gladly wait until 2021 for 4.0 if that abomination can be disregarded.
That's actually fucking awesome.
>tfw there will never be a wolf eel godzilla that only wants to be pet by people
y'all do know Shin Godzilla won't release in IMAX here in the states right? we won't see those 70mm scenes
Yeah, japs rarely localize films, and they sure as fuck won't localize this anytime this year.
Gooks are amongst the worst race of humans in existence.
IIRC he begins as mixotrophs(creatures that can get energy from a variety of sources including radiation) that begin absorbing sea life, presumably gets the eye from eels
This is his first form, though we don't see it in the film besides the tail. When he emerges on land hes
localization was already confirmed for this year by Funimation you dunce
Fucking really? You best not be joshing me m8.
If it's real then it changes everything and I for one will welcome our new asian overlords.
This gets better and better.
Sorry for asking for spoilers, but does he die in the end?
Funimation got rights they are rich now. the word around monster island, that oct 10th for usa release eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyoooooooooouuuuuu
Calm down, word is its only ok
animenewsnetwork.com
there won't be a IMAX release tho, I guarantee it
That soon? Wow this is a first
Nope. They knock him over buildings and pump cadmium down his throat, freezing him.
He is still alive though.
I like you. Thanks user for making my day brighter
>secondary eyelid
love that shit
So you want imax msg funi, eeeeeeeeeeeyyyyouuuuuuuuuu
Last shot is this
Anyone have images of the final shot ofthe human skeletons in agony fused to his tail?
so now I know where the hell those bloods in the tunnel scene came from on the trailer
Wow I can't wait to see this. Looks glorious
>tfw lasted like 2 days after the premier without spoiling myself
still hyped as fuck though
not bad for around $10 million budget
Someone beg funi to do imax
Yeah honestly this is top tier for JapCGI
No. Imax is a meme
man of steel
Converted this to webms earlier today
10 million? Shit. That's impressive.I mean it shows limitations in the animation but still, they did a great job working with what they had.
...
...
Your ruining it for me!
Seriously tho, continue. This is cool
...
This last one is from a different video
...
pew pew
>no practical effects
>no suit
since fucking when did the japanese know how to do good cgi?
They don't. It's average hollywood tier.
but people are convinced that this looks like a practical suit when the trailer released, right?
>creepy ass skeletons
wtf I love Shin Goji now
compare this to any other japanese cgi shit show and you'll notice a incredibly big gap in quality
And that makes it good cgi? No user, it makes it better than previous cgi.
They used a puppet for some close-ups.
The puppet was supposed to be used more prominently originally but it failed tests.
i'm sorry, didn't know i was talking with a moron
...
You're talking to yourself? That's a red flag m8, go get checked out.

that building collapse was great, but those laser effect is fucking terrible

Not really. They look exactly how I would expect them to look IRL.
just saw it, will only say this; it's basically 98 godzilla on crack
soundtrack is fucking amazing
IS THIS THE NEW AGE OF JAPKINO
SASUGA ANNO
get a tourist dictionary app, bitch
you don't need to understand the movie, its just gonna be aaaahhh! gojira! bakemonodaaa!!! masakaaa!!
Genuinely laughed at this.
Well played user
I just saw that 3.33 finally came out with the new dub
Do any of you know how different it is from the original english dub?
BASED ANNO
I thought it was out for a good while now? I've seen it listed on Amazon for months with reviews saying it was the official release.
...
It's CG layered over a suit
>there won't be a IMAX release tho
I'll take what I can get.
It's a shame that the Funi theater release will be obviously dubbed.
There has never been a good Godzilla dub. I watched literally all of them so I have a pretty solid frame of reference on that statement. I'm not saying the original Japanese has stellar acting, but the acting is definitely a lot better by comparison.
Plus when you can actually see the real-life actors on screen, it just feels wrong to have them be dubbed over, just subtitle it.
>10 million? Shit. That's impressive.
Keep in mind the most expensive movie ever made in Japan was only 49 million. And that's adjusting for inflation.
Americans don't like to read
funi handled the 3.33 theatrical run, right? a couple showings of that were subtitled where i was
They dealt with it just fine for Pan's Labyrinth
Toho tried to get a Godzilla film made back in I believe the late 80s-early 90s. But holy shit, every studio they approached didn't like how anal they were about creative control, or something like that.
COOKIE MONSTER
>polygon
Godzilla anime series, I meant
>I really hate how this looks so amateurish.
have you never watched a japanese live action movie before?
This looks like cheap destruction porn.
I guess it's okay when Japan does it and not someone named Snyder or Emmerich.
Fucking hypocrites
Did they though?
Why do japs always have some nobodies staring in the corners of their broadcast literally offering nothing to it, just the same "I'm watching this right now" face.
Yeah, somehow they make stylish animation, enjoyable action movies and awful porn. Really makes you think.
I'm in taiwan. Is it out here yet?
>ywn understand master race thoughts
