Do you not realize that real people are uploading things? It's not "on soulseek" it's on an user's computer and they can go offline. The whole thing works because many people have uploads of the same thing so that not everyone is downloading from a single source.

Some faggot had extremely specific requirements on how your folders had to be set up and how you needed to have flacs with proper logs and cues in order for him to consider adding you and allowing you to download his stuff. Given that private tracker users are discouraged and in fact punished for sharing files outside of a particular private tracker, it never benefited anything other than said trackers. Not to mention that most trackers have an unreasonably high barrier to entry.
Got soulseek running on my headless linux fileserver so now I can share my entire 100+ GB music collection 24/7. feels good.
On a related note, anyone have any experience with the program museek+? it would make what I'm doing a lot easier but I never got it working because its a piece of shit
