Getting this in the mail tomorrow, I'm aware it's not that great but for my price range and skill level it's decent. Any of you guys use it?

Should I get an acoustic guitar or an electric guitar? I just want to play some tunes.
Are acoustic electric guitars any good? Do I need to buy an amp? Can I use headphones with an amp?

>Swamp ass body

No thanks.

/gg/s fav pick? Dunlop Tortex .88mm

Just the trip wasn't enough attention? You had to post your face too when it's completely irrelevant? You should get a sex change lad, you'd fit in with women better

Hahahaha probably the worst general on Sup Forums /

Contribute or stop bitching

Found a 2nd hand Hagstrom F300 earlier today. Debating whether I pick it up.
Any opinions on it?

Jazz III.

Jazz III all the way.

>tripfag who posts his face wants (You)s

Pic related

What tuning and gauge string do you guys use? I generally use 11s in D standard
1.14 Jazz III XL

You're almost me
11s, D standard, 1.14 Jazz III Tortex

Eb, 11's
C, 13's

Alice 1.0mm picks

Am I the only one who plays 10-52 on drop C?

I have seen a bunch of comments about learning chugging but have no idea what it is. I've been playing for just under 10 years now so I may have learned it under a different name, wtf is chugging.

downpicking harmonic minor shit on the 6th string.

How the fuck does your stupid ass not know what chugging is after 10 years ?

It's one guy making meme replies.
I'm thinking you're probably him, since who the fuck doesn't know what chugging is

Isn't that just doing palm mutes?

It may be a language thing, I first learnt it all in french but changed to english after a few years.

If it's palm mutes then I guess I just misinterpreted, I don't think it fit well into the contexts where I've seen it mentioned though. Still feel like I'm missing something.

Give me a guitar scale to learn. Any scale that you think sounds cool.

Definitely Phrygian Dominant if you haven't yet
Otherwise, Hirajoshi or Lydian Dominant

Thanks familia, I'll get right on it. God bless.

Just started playing guitar standing up for the first time in a while
I noticed that my wrist starts to hurt a lot after a few minutes especially when I use a lot of barre chords or play the frets closer to the headstock
Should I wear the strap lower/higher?

Wear it like a bowtie and tilt that neck up
Ergonomic posture doesn't look cool

Hey fa/gg/ots, I have a problem with muh amp.
I set it up like pic related: a boost and a delay in the effects loop which I activate with the footswitch whenever I have a solo.
But when I do so, I hear a somewhat loud 'POP' noise in the cab, with the echo of the delay. If I press it again it's gone and works fine, but if I play again for a bit and activate the loop once more it does the same noise.
I don't want to fuck up my amp or cab, send help

I have a 6505+ that does that sometimes when switching channels on the face of the amp. Shit's pretty wack, probably some kind of design flaw. At least it sounds good or I'd have half a mind to replace it

I've been told repeated occurences of this problem can damage the cab in the long run and that's something I don't want, I want to keep this amp all my life if possible.

Is white a good color for a guitar?

Yes white is best

Wegen GP 250.

Thoughts on Brunetti Maranello Black Top? Anyone tried one?

Yes.

Needs a BLACKED logo

depends on what I'm playing and what type of strings I'm playing, but mostly Dunlop Jazz. All of them. And Fender 346 heavy.

Why the fuck are road worn Telcasters now over £1000? That is fucking insanity for a mexican guitar with a naff relic job. Who buys these? They used to be about £450

22 frets vs 24 frets

Nah.

24 for shreds and taps

24, because it's two octaves and not one point something.

24 if the guitar doesn't have a neck pickup.
22 with neck pickup.

Why 22 for neck?

The spacing of the pickups probably.
22 frets = further apart.

"Handcrafted guitar picks"
It's a fucking piece of plastic! You make an injection mold and produce them by the millions for barely any money, Jesus Christ "boutique picks".

It is a fucking meme. (((they))) will stick "boutique" and "handcrafted" on anything and sell it for stupid money. There was a great screencap doing the rounds yesterday of some guy on Reddit who had a "premium" fidget spinner that was "aimed at CEOs and presidents" that cost him $300 and said that it was fine because they go up to $1000

My favourite pics are Ultex Jazz III XL

Yes

Someone told me in New York that when a guitar would not move in his store ,he would put the price up and it would go.I had a hard time believing this.In the end I did just that and the guitars are flowing . Still,I have a hard time with this concept as I am from the days where $250.00 got you the guitar and the amp. That was in the sixties ,we are now heading towards 2018 and things cost a hell of a lot more.

Putting the price up encourages those who were watching the item (thinking the price was good) but who were waiting on the price being reduced - the idea is that they are shocked into buying it before the price gets hiked even higher.

should i buy one?

Music Man are fantastic guitars

>Being this poor

Guitarists will spend thousands on amps and pedals but complain about paying $10 for the thing that strikes the string and produces a large amount of the "tone". So dumb, most violinists spend hundreds on their bows even though they could just buy a $5 that "does the same thing"

Does anyone have a hagstrom Swede?

Can they get a jazz tone or nah?

They look pretty classy

I follow a few guitar forums and nobody can sell shit in the classifieds. People are being very fucking cheap

Well find me a cheaper pick with the same design then.

Also this.

I'm not against material RnD for picks, nice strawman.
It's just a matter of production techniques. "Handcrafting" a pick made out of some type of plastic is just retarded, you can literally do it better, cheaper and more consistently via any modern production techique (hence why I mentioned injection molding).
It is literally retarded to pay extra for a "handmade" piece of plastic.
The company could literally produce these things for less than 1/10 of the price and there would be no difference in quality. It is just inefficient and stupid and they charge you extra for that. Why exactly are you defending that?

what material do they use?

Headphones = electric gutar.

See photo.

White is right, especially when mixed with black. Don't go reverse headstock, though.

>needing more than 21 frets... evar

I just checked. This is $6,000

Gtfo of here

Get the EBMM JP model instead, those majestys look retarded but play great

No one else is making a similar pick. That's why.

It's some sort of plastic used for models. The guy who makes these picks sculpts models for living, if I remember correctly.

my seven string is a meme

Richie Kotzen doesn't even use a pick

m.youtube.com/watch?v=Vb8JtuVNwZo

On the other hand, he was able to play much more complex stuff before he ditched his pick.
That said, I like REH video, Ibanez-playing, sweeping Richie and fingerpicking, soul-shred, tele Richie

>more complex
how?

The guy can fucking sing too. How is he not more popular?

First time guitar buyer here. I want to buy an acoustic for about 150 euros(170 dollars). would that be enough?

I could use some help with a problem I've got. My amp is making this electric buzzing sound whenever I'm not touching any piece of metal on the guitar. I've got a shitty Epiphone Les Paul and a Strat. When I plug in the strat there is basically no buzzing what so ever. But with the Les Paul it sounds absolutely unbearable. Even worse if I plug in a pedal. The amp is also an Epiphone. I've tried switching the power supply to another socket, and a few different rooms in the house just to make sure. Is there anything I can do or is it just because I bought a shit guitar and amp and I'm fucked?

He's pretty well known. He replaced CC deville in Poison and Paul Gilbert in Mr Big. Check out the Winery Dogs, his band with Mike Portnoy and Billy Sheehan.

Sounds like the Epi guitar has a bad wire since it doesnt happen with your strat, perhaps the ground on the jack. Pretty easy fix, just remove the input jack plate and check the wire.

you gotta get used to it
try playing stuff and chords in a way that you dont have to lower your arm so much
see these pics for example. doing bar chords like first pic allows me to wear the guitar in a much more acceptable height. as opposite to 2nd pic thats holding it like classical, with the fingers flatter to the fretboard, see my arm is almost flat with the ground, have to wear the guitar really high. if you dont bar the lower strings and play the low e with your thumb you can have it even lower lol, though it would affect vibratos and faster lines

No one needs advice from someone with monkey arms holding a dumpster rescue POS guitar

Human arms work differently

can i put electric strings on my nylon classical that doesnt have a truss rod, as electric strings have less tension than steel acoustics?

i know last night you dreamed about brazilian dicks

The BR dicks were all in your mother

no. still too much tension

so you also fantasize about being someones mother
interesting

Thank you for the tip, will check it out. If the problem is a faulty wire, how hard would it be to replace? Saw something while googling the issue about grounding the guitar by opening it, removing the parts and taping it with copper tape. Would that be an option if its not the wire?

That's called ghettorigging. You'd be better off resoldering it.
