Anyone in here in a band or play /dark/ music? Some friends and I have been thinking about it lately

OP here, got a music project with my gf but getfing around to recording is very slow given all the time it takes to get my shit to her house.

Summer is my favorite time of year to listen to /dark/ music.

I divide the kinds of dark music by time of year myself, but it's still Spring user.

I do this as well. Would you mind sharing what you friends listen to during summer (and possibly the other seasons if you want)

Anyone like dark jazz?
reccs?

Sure, I'm a goth but for /dark/ in the summer I listen to Industrial Music and Post-Industrial. Common artists I listen to are:
Throbbing Gristle
SPK
Monte Cazazza
Boyd Rice (his Industrial noise stuff and his Neofolk works)
Front Line Assembly
Whitehouse
Genocide Organ
Skinny Puppy
Nitzer Ebb
Foetus
The Beatnigs
Tackhead
Esplendor Geometrico
Ramleh
Vivenza
Anenzephalia
Mark Stewart's Industrial Hip-Hop album, shit like that. I prefer the noisy, aggressive but over the top edgelord stuff like Chemlab or Suicide commando.

Fuck, didn't mean to post using that trip.

Sorry user, but this isn't the general for you.

Neo-Folk is the shit.

what about dark ambient
any dark ambient recs?

OP here, don't know much dark ambient. Eventually though I'll compile a list of both common and obscure stuff so I can pass it along to people asking for recommendations.

I don't play music I program it on my komputor and then press play.

I make martial industrial that's really badly mixed

are you me?

headroom is key my friend. Play it loud but keep it on -3

I don't know, are you a left handed, cigar smoking, goth dissatisfied with how modern goth sounds and wants to experiment to leave his own mark in hopes of convincing at least a few people to try other approaches?

Tell me about Douglas, why does he wear the mask?

Bump

He was born into the apoliteia, molded by it, shaped by it.

Neo-Folk is shit*

Any club nights/events/related stuff you guys doing?

Is there an essentials chart, or something similar, for darkwave?

Not that I know of, but someone has one for Gothic Rock and Deathrock.

I came across this yesterday, never heard about 95% of these records.

Crash Course In Science sounds like a post-punk Silver Apples, it's pretty good.

Whoops, nevermind there are 2 on the wiki.

Nice

I'm considering getting an old synthesizer and recording equipment and doing some poetry/spokenword neofolk like Current 93's more ambient works, but I have no experience in making music and I need to study mysticism more first.

I like goth rock and dark ambient as well. Dark jazz incorporates elements of dark ambient so I thought it could work.

Hey! Have you been reading Anton Shekhovtsov again? What did I tell you about those articles!

Yes, it fucking is. Bohren belongs here.

This will be a good thread. There is usually so little Martial/Neofolk discussion on this board.
I would post my usual recs but the archive is offline, so here are just a few secret tips:

Recommend me some good Martial Industrial please.

Have a treat

Thanks, this is right up my alley

I'm in a band and I also have started doing solo stuff on the side. The band I'm in isn't playing dark music as such but it is something I'd like to incorporate. With my solo stuff I'm using drum machines and synths to get a pretty stripped back sound. Just gotta find a way to capture that 'atmosphere'.

Can we all just admit that we like this guy at occasions? Hes definitely our guy.

>Dresses in all black and even wears chokers
>Isn't afraid to philosophise and is well spoken with very realistic ideals. (Dare i say redpilled?)
>Very angry music, screams like hes some kind of bolder male rapper Pharmakon.
>Spooky beats that makes your stomach churn when you digest it.
>Has obvious mental issues but is still a cutie.

get out of here

KYS, dark is not always /dark/.

Tfw, can't get into my right vibe because it's summer and it's bright out until late in the night...

Seriously i hate summer i like to listen when the weather fits the atmosphere

Ironically summer makes me depressed

This band keeps getting better and better.

leave pleb

Seriously, this album (Wo sind eure Götter hin? by Annabelle's Garden) is one of the best damn neofolk albums there are. I recommend it to everyone.

He hangs with goth chicks too. I cant disregard the thought that he has partied or sum shit to /dark/ music like Cocteau Twins or dark trap like $uicideBoy$.

this is literally the gayest thread ive ever been on lmao

so what he makes us uncomfortable, we don't want him here!

how do they not fall asleep?

bumping with IMO the magnum opus of c93

Can I get some recommendations for edgy darkwave-dance?

it's ok
i'll try listening to neofolk a few more times

If there's anyone who enjoys Gothic/Alternative Rock with a bit of Dream Pop, check out All About Eve. Great stuff. Really powerful female vocals too.
