Halfway Best of 2017 Thread

Best? Most disappointing? Most anticipated?

You're missing Tricot's new album desu

never heard of em but i will check it out stat user

...

Really great melodic math rock with cute Japanese girls, literally no downside.

hi shugazi buddy. listening to that Ride for the first time. pretty pretty pretty good

only albums I even remotely like from this year

please rec some 2017-core y'all, I'm becoming a pleb again

Not many/any super high points, but also one of the most consistently decent years this decade.

Stuff I liked and would recommend:
Bardo Pond - Under the Pines
Richard Dawson - Peasant
Sun Kil Moon - Common as Light
Perfume Genius - No Shape
Tiny Hazard - Greyland

danke

I have actually heard the Perfume Genius one and really enjoyed it, I forgot about it

Yes, slowdive is still my aoty but ride was amazing too

i see this forest swords album all over. what's it like

...

easily best for me
most disappointing would definitely be the Sun Kil Moon album. i was expecting to like the new perfume genius more than I do but I still appreciate around half of the songs, especially wreath and choir

bump

heres the objective list for aotysf. tell me what i'm missing anons.

>Objective list
>Tell me what I'm missing
Which is it?

>objective
>mac demarco top 4

no.

Good choices in the overall chart, but horrible order. Also, Drunk is overrated. It's mid-tier funk at best.

Disappointment: One More Light by Linkin Park
Really good: Arcadian Paralel by Divitius, Endless Disconnect by No Sin Evades His Gaze

Yeah I really like it too, just all around very strong art pop.

wut

mac - crack up could all be interchanged really. there has yet to be an album that's obviously above the rest.

Crack Up t b h is probably my #1 and I would argue its merits against Mac but again, it's not really an objective discussion.

I just thought Mac was more of the same. Still good, just didn't jump out at me.

>inb4 "pleb" taste

Tons of stuff this year that i've only heard once and need more listens to form an opinion on. Replayability is a big factor with making my yearly best of charts.

I'm just glad to see some love for Bastien Keb and Nick Hakim

I think it's been a pretty great year desu

>most anticipated

DAMN

it was a good album, but i expected more from kendrick lamar

I agree but you have the wrong King Jizzard album on there

Igorrr - Savage Sinusoid
Feist - Pleasure

I liked it a lot when it first came out and have listened to it less and less. I agree, I think it's good but not up to par for him. I like Isaiah Rashad's album from last year more.

Shabazz is my #1 hip hop so far.

I try to avoid leaks out of respect for the artist, bb

jid-the never story
jonwayne-rap album 2
show me the body-corpus i

Check out the new Ambersmoke my nigga

fair enough.

I'm really fucking pumped for murder of the universe though. from the "singles" they've released, it's likely one of my most anticipated for the year

it's really good and way up there for me. probably my favorite they've released. it does have some spoken word stuff that i know a few people were put off by, but the record is more aggressive overall.

...

what is te name of the second album

not him but that's Blanck Mass - World Eater

I listened to the first 2. They were pretty good.

xiu xiu overrrated

overrated is a meme word

words in general are

The album's out? Oh shiiiit, link? The EP was insane.

bump

>Top 7
>Two of which aren't even out yet

...

the fuck are you on about everything there has been released

This but imagine everything got replaced with Thugger's new meme album.
