High School Experiences

How would you describe your high school experience?

I'm asking that because the way American high schools are depicted on TV shows and movies is completely insane: the environment is too hostile and agressive. How real are these depictions?

Anime always depicts highschool young love romance.

Reality is 80% of guys dream of this happening and it never happens.

That's why we turn into 50 year old men obsessed with highschool girls.

Fuck my youth ;(

>asked on date by a guy who went to another high(he was a friend of my friend )
>he ovbiously wanted to fuck me
>never contact with him

nothing happened after that

>How would you describe your high school experience?
Complete shit. Teenagers in America are pretentious, and highly stupid, unless they are part of the minority which actually cares, and wants a good score on their SAT

High school was pretty boring
No abuse or bullying, but no real excitement either
I enjoyed it overall though

t. minority cuck

I loved high school. Was captain of the soccer team, had a high school sweetheart, tight circle of friends, partied often, good grades, etc. Was a small private school, though, so that helped build a close community among everyone. Good times.

Having said that, the girls I hungout with were the popular circle, and did treat people outside the circle with more subtle condescension. Not outright like in Mean Girls.

>Was captain of the soccer team

They're actually pretty standard in the suburbs. In the cities and in rural areas it's VERY different though.

post skirt

Basically this. My high school had very little explicit bullying and practically no violence. Any violent people were quickly punished. Similar to college media, the actual school work and learning never gets portrayed and it's all about fucking, partying, betrayal and violence because nobody wants to see someone sitting around in class or doing homework. Not to say drug use and partying weren't common (they were, but obviously not for me), but it wasn't nearly as hostile as portrayed. I wasn't exactly popular or well liked either.

Perhaps the shit-tier 2000+ student madhouses run in major cities are very different. I went to a public-private school in a more rural area with about 700 students, so everyone knew each other. It was basically a one-off charter school except started in the 1850s.

Yes but worse

>captain of the soccer team
I don't think you were as popular as you remember

I dropped out of HS when I was in 8th grade

High school for me was like the stoner movies skipping school doing dumb shit and not caring about my grades and shit

Middle-school/junior high was more like what is depicted in movies like Mean Girls. When I got to highschool most of the other students were very mature, there were no "cliques," and everyone got along for the most part and behaved like young adults. I honestly don't remember witnessing any "bullying" whatsoever, although I should mention that I am 30 and went to highschool just before social media became a big thing. Even the lower-class students got along well, because by that point the worst of the white trash had dropped out or been sent to juvie.

>high school uniform
i sold it (it was cute tho)

>bullinado constantemente no primeiro ano por um repetente
>bullinado constantemente no segundo ano pela sala inteira
>isolado completamente no terceiro ano em uma escola nova

You're my wife now

Post cutest outfit you have

It was the absolute worst time of my life, even though I was constantly skipping classes and took entire days off every week. I wasn't even unpopular, got along with my classmates and teachers pretty good. I just hated the system. The conformity, the brain washing and overall I felt extremely claustrophobic in that shithole. To me it was prison.
Often all I could think about was how I could be out there, somewhere, anywhere else, exploring, meeting people, playing, reading, enjoying life and just...living!
Every time I sneaked out through the back gate, it felt like the world opened up to me, with a millard possibilities, the sky was bluer, and it got easier to breathe.

I'm pretty sure if Hell exists, it'll be a high school that lasts for an eternity.

That was beautiful, thanks for sharing your experience.

On one side, the time I was in high school was comfy as fuck. I had a tight group of friends (they're my best friends even now, six years later), a girlfriend and a coolish job.

On the other, the high school itself was really shitty. It was a escola técnica (trade school I guess) and I fucking hated. One of the best schools in my state, but all about chemistry and biology. I didn't drop out, but had the averagest grades you could think of.

My highschool was filled with chads to the extent that it was impossible to not be chad in some way. There was so much macho competition and it didn't matter because all the hot girls had boyfriends from other schools lel

Would actually be happy if i learned that everyone i met in highschool died horribly

>all of the girls played musical chairs with the football team
>all but a handful were non-virgin by graduation
>rednecks listened to rap music and spent all of their shitty part-time pay on expensive speakers for their vehicles
>goth faggots were in the band and were weird edgy fucks
>had never seen a real faggot until around junior year when faggotry started becoming more "normal"
>i was just some christian dude that tried to make it through without going crazy

It was pretty ridiculous, drugs, sex, fights, national socialism on the rise, jocks, nerds, wierd scene kids. Drunk kid attacks on sight a police officer shattering his ear piece, student dumps slushy into teacher's head. My Korean friend would beat the shit out of blacks and Mexicans who acted as if in a gang. New age friend would lay down in the middle of the campus during the rain. Teacher threatens to kill black kid. Kids smoking pot in the back of the class and other kids on their computers, etc etc, half white Highschool in Southern California was somewhat fun. I remember how we received this weird kid from Germany and he said every day was like a party compared to school in Deutschland.

The only clique I've ever seen like in movies were the bitter angry losers that think they are better and smarter than everyone else

>Be me
>Get notified of 10-year high school reunion

Mine was sent out via Faceberg, so I never got one. No fucks given.

Then how do you know about it

Because I still have friends, lad.

>He didn't smoke weed in class

My high school was filled with autists so I fit in perfectly.
Even our chads were autistic.
I remember someone who played for the local WHL (junior hockey) team liked old school CRPGs like Baldur's Gate.

Do your hockey players really talk like this?
youtube.com/watch?v=ozDDYcyrCNE

Highschool is full of drug addicts, loud, stupid and annoying people who think they are adults, the same idiotic Bf/Gf drama (never ends, cringey as fuck), whores, bullies, crybabies and the only ones who act decent are scoreslave cucks who would suck a dick and chop off a leg for a few marks.

> he didn't halt and trouble his brain growth and development by using soft drugs ag an early age

Fixed, Pablo.

>he didn't do coke in class either
it was fun while it lasted

>he's part of the loser club

It's pretty exaggerated in that video, but the teens who are originally from rural areas can get pretty close to it.
Also, the hair is fucking dead on.

The one way that high school on American TV is accurate is in regards to how girls treat each other. Highschool girls are fucking evil backstabbing savages.

Women in general are vicious towards each other. They never get over it

True, but I feel highschool aged girls are the worst though because that's when their hormones are strongest so their competitive instincts are in full swing.

Like fuck, there were more fights between girls than guys at my school and they were way more vicious than the guys fights.

No at my workplace they were much more vicious than anything I've ever encountered before

highschool was cool :v
but it sucks, specially fucking teachers, althought some of them were friends of mine, the rest.... fuck em.
the sad part... nothing has improved

I went to a mega high school with 2,500 people it's fun, but there's too many groups and yeah girls do put out. It was fun, but college has more freedom.

i have a hunch you live in CA somewhere

Literally 2500 people and only two of them were my friends (they were just as autistic as me) I spoke so little that on the rare occasions when I decided to talk I had to clear my throat for like a whole minute. Gf (now wife) lived fuckin 5 states away. Never went to any events, parties, etc. I hated it because it felt like nothing was happening. Like I barely remember anything because there was nothing to remember. Boring as all hell basically. There were a few cliques and like two fights but it was nothing like the movies.

Diversity just leads to grouping and in group preferences in my experience

true but outcast groups are usually diverse

Where I went it was only the gay blacks that didn't hang with the others

>tfw high school was like 95% white with the others being a mix of black and asian

I have an extremely wealthy friend who went to an elite and extremely competitive high school whose graduates all go to ivy league schools and whose top 20% in every class is on coke doing it daily to get massive amounts of homework done, meanwhile they are all obnoxiously rich and roll up in brand new expensive cars to places like sports games and flaunt their wealth in front of the other team

she said it was the most socially stratified high school experience, there were so many different cliques: multiple jock cliques for each sport, cheerleaders, popular girls, nerds, stoners, you name it

it sounds kinda fucked up

I went to an inner city highschool and it sucked ass. Everybody was dumb as rocks. They secluded the smart kids to prevent them going rouge.

Thank god I got outta of that shithole

>knowing that feel

tfw you missed out on teenage love

>tfw you missed out on love*

My school was mostly white, but it was more divided by ethnicity than race.

I would say my high school experience was great. People were very friendly, nice and funny. No such thing as closed groups, with some exceptions. Way different from the elementary school, where anything would be reason of hostile mockery for the shitheads kids and they had their own circlejerk groups. In high school, you would only be hard mocked if you were a complete autistic, as it happened to a weirdo I had in my classroom.

Is this because every high school girl works as hostess or prostitute for said 50-year old men?

Lol you went to a ghetto school.

I can't imagine ever getting any work done if my high school was full of girls wearing tiny skirts and thigh high socks.

That weird kid from Germany ours was Danish and got scared he got a girl pregnant at a party after a football game. Fucking foreigners I swear kek.

Mean Girls paints an exaggerated picture, but it's not entirely inaccurate. There are clearly defined cliques divided by race/family income level/sports/etc., a definite social hierarchy, and no shortage of silly drama if you try your hand at social climbing.

I went to a big, upper-middle class school with about 3500 students. There were parties that got broken up by police, kids getting suspended for drinking and drug use, a couple of sex scandals involving students and teachers, all that stereotypical stuff. It was big enough though that it was easy for people to disappear into the background and be ignored. If you were one of the losers who played Magic at lunch then nobody would bother you.

I always hated school so I skipped as much as I could and ended up dropping out senior year

Anime and WoW is just too superior

It was pretty shitty actually. I wasn't unpoular, i came along with my classmates and teachers. I skipped many classes because sometimes it's impossible for me to get up in the morning.

Also, we had an american exchange student for 2 weeks. He was fucking retarded. Even though he could speak german, he wouldn't stop speaking in english and expected everyone else to speak english too.

>americans

In USA now but grew up in Canada, not that different I imagine.
Grade 8-9 ("Junior High"): got pushed around, punched, pushed down by the guys, ostracized, emotionally abused and made fun of by everyone.
Grade 10 (also Junior High): in a school with only smart kids. No one physically abused me. The other kids were aloof but didn't ostracize me. I actually made some tentative friends.
Grade 11-12 ("Senior High"): The kids from my old schools and some other schools all fed in to the senior high. The kids from grade 8-9 still ostracized me but the kids from grade 10 and from the other schools accepted me and I made some friends. No one physically or emotionally abused me anymore.
The senior high was totally focused on sports. The sports stars were the heroes. The smart kids were basically ignored by the principal and a lot of the teachers.

>the way American high schools are depicted on TV shows and movies

Always wondered about that. I suffered some bullying as a kid but holy shit if I was in a high school movie I'd have shot up at least 20 people by the end of it

I had violent fantasies about getting a gun and killing the bullies up until about my late 20s.

Hate it, hated primary school too, full of backstabbing cunts, everyone was fighting each other 24/7, literally so much chaos and then every other day someone will get excluded for trying to shank someone, honestly had to watch my back 24/7, people were cunts, teachers were cunts, lessons were shit, people would also walk out, turn on the fire alarm, in lessons you can hear people running away from the teachers and shouting at them. A lot of my friends got sent back an forth through to the other local school as what we call "managed move".

Girls were whores who kept getting pregnant.

Didn't like anything about highschool, was in a constant depression and state of suicidal tendency, even primary school.

Tbh was sort of popular as well, prob because I'd always steal shit for people from other people, didn't really give a fuck, big guy (4u).

We always jump the fence and break and smoke cigarettes.

I'm still in highschool btw worded some of this wrong.

>Also Türk in England but on holiday to Deutschland, ignore the flag

Yeah I'm out of that phase as well especially since I came out way ahead in life compared to them. Best served cold.

But was high school like the movies?

Also during all of primary/start of highschool I was not only physically but mentally so viciously bullied that I had unbelievable school shooting tendencies.

Had one planned out but then just realised schools not that long and to just ride it out, and eventually people started liking me.

Desu user I'm the Turk in England, whenever I watch American hs movies I genuinely feel offended that they're highschools are that safe. The torment in my primary + highschool was always a million times worse and American movies made me cringe because their bullying was so mediocre when here people would get beaten the shit out of daily, verbally abused by everyone in the vicinity too.

Unfortunately you didn't live in America, good luck making your school shooting fantasies come to life in Britain. They don't respect austism-culture.

Wot. My school wasn't that bad and I'm from a 3rd world country.

Reeee

There have been one student so far who hanged himself and one teacher who attempted to while I've been here.

The student threatened to stab me 2 weeks prior so I was P happy.

I come from a very poor area and it has one of the worst crime rates in the UK.

Well, I thought I answered you, but I dunno what aspects you're asking about.
Cliques? I guess there were the jocks and their girlfriends. I can't think of any other cliques. School with a graduating class of 500, so maybe that's not big enough for cliques. Of course the students who were in the same classes tended to hang out together, so the kids who were in all the grade 12 science classes (like me) hung out together, the kids who were in all the sports-related classes hung out together, etc.
Sex and pregnancy? I knew who was who's girlfriend or boyfriend, but I didn't know whether they were having sex or not. Probably only their absolute best friends knew. I don't remember anyone getting pregnant in highschool, though one of my friends got pregnant by her boyfriend after highschool and then married him (it lasted about 3 years).

It was cool. I've made lots of cool friends and started lifting and going out every week. Also before HS I was a video game addict.

We did bully a few nerds who played magic the gathering every day or so. I kind of pity them since they were so much of a stereotype nerds, but still they were so fucking dumb. In contrast I was the sporting guy who not only was handsome with muscles but also did things like pre-calculus and numerical analysis, my grades were the highest in the class.

If you were so well-adjusted and successful in so many departments, why did you feel a need to bully other kids?

Inner city school was alright, I was into punk and kinda was part of a more alternative group in the beginning , but the real friends came from people in your SLC "Small Learning Community" since you spend every day in the same classes. I was in a trade program within the school, so there was a small construction yard in which we would scrape some money together to buy drugs/alcohol (and sometimes aerosol cans) and get fucked up. There were loose cliques and about ten years before there was a lot of racial/gang conflict, but by the time I got there it wasn't hostile, there were a lot of fights but only about 5 a year are noticed by most (either because a bunch of students and security would flock to the scene, or because it was hyped on social media.) The police in my area would respond to this hype and deploy a squad car so nothing happened in the area.

I assume you're asking about social stuff and not class content or school-supported activities like sports and academic competitions.

I went to a comfy co-educational private school with small cohorts and class sizes. We did the typical shit like making rubbish stashes, stacking furniture, pushing boundaries with teachers, installing games on the computers, getting each other in trouble, giving people mean nicknames, picking on new kids to weed out misfits and get people in their proper place, etc..

Mostly all in good fun, without genuine hostility or aggression. The only thing that might have been less pleasant was the form of community self-policing that went on: because it was such a small community, usually a consensus would form about whether outsiders or troublemakers could fit in and be kept around, and without actual enforcement this consensus tended to manifest itself pretty reliably.

The only other thing that comes to mind is special treatment afforded to children from families that were well-known in the school or who made large donations (the school was always begging for contributions from parents despite pretty high fees). There was also favouritism and selective enforcement of rules from some particular staff members. I also recently found out that a couple of staff members had been having sexual affairs with parents or other members of staff.

From what I have heard, the school has been on the decline recently - cohorts and classes are getting bigger, there's more new-fangled liberal stupidity seeping in to content, and favouritism based on donations has resulted in some really poor treatment of students and their families in a couple of cases.

Still, it was good while I was there.

its fun lol u fucken DORK GEEK give me your lunch money or your getting a SWIRLIE ahahaha LOOSER meet me in the park after school lets fight NERD
