I liked it truthfully, was it a masterpiece? Not at all... but if you played the original games you should enjoy the flick.

it was enjoyable
Watch it if you have time to spare
I forgot about it the next couple of days

The fast pacing and the King are the weakest parts

It's fun if you're into the lore and/or the game(s)

good enjoyable flick

orc CGI is a fucking masterpiece desu

It suck balls. I stopped watching in the middle. It's probably good for the gamers tho.

Human scenes were garbage but all the orc shit was great. Worth a viewing.

This talk about liking it if you're into the games is bull shit. You'll only like it if you're MILDLY into the lore and you like cape shit made for dumbies.

I went with a broad group of friends. I loosely know the lore and played WoW from vanilla to WOTLK. I had 3 people with me that own all the books and are OBSESSED with the lore. And we had two people with us that knew NOTHING about Warcraft.

We all walked out of the theater quietly, nobody wanted to be the negative guy who talks about how bad it was. Then I said "okay was it just me or was that pretty bad?"
Then EVERYBODY started chiming in with their perspective and unanimously agreeing that it's among one of the worst films we've ever seen. It has almost NO redeeming qualites.

Bad acting, awful dialogue, no sense of geography, no sense of times passage, poorly written characters, etc.
Easily in my top 10 worst movies of all time, if I exclude "so bad its good" movies. This wasnt so bad its good, it was truly abysmal.

best cgi in recent history

hopefully when a directors cut comes out the story will translate better

better than the entire fucking movie tbqh

its fun and enjoyable and thats coming from someone thats never played any warcraft game

Shouldn't have focused in filthy orc scum.

You are right. There is actually a much better movie hidden in this solid but not great fantasy flick. But I like the style and some of the Game of Thrones like twists they tried out.

I enjoyed it. I would watch a sequel.

You and your friends sound like fun people.

I didn't liked the short cut scenes one after another. Otherwise it's okay I guess.

I could barely suffer through the scenes with the she-ork and humans, the rest of it sucked too. It was nothing but fanservice.

Yeah the movie retcons some stuff, so what? I doubt Blizz intended the lore and timeline to be 100% rigid. You and your friends probably take it way more seriously than they ever did.

Wait so my friends who knew nothing about the lore and had no expectations take it too seriously?
I don't even know what they retconned because I'm not familiar enough. Such great excuses for having shit taste m8.

Yup. Or you can just tell yourself all 7 of us are just cynical. What ever strawman you gotta use to tell yourself your awful taste is solid.
I'm sure your autistic friends that eat up garbage are a RIOT

This is all that needs to be said

Never played the games. Found the movie quiete confusing. Not plotwise, but because of editing, I guess. For example, fight in the citadel or whatever, wizard punches the warrior guy and then next scene warrior and the scholar kid are hiding and chatting. Seemed...unfinished? Like they tried to do finish it too fast and left obvious mistakes in.

It was entertaining, tried to do something different than other block busters, the writing reminded me of some old fun 90s flick.

Cadgar was the most enjoyable character in the movie.

So many of his scenes felt like they were ripped from a porno. Anyone else get that vibe?

>it's among one of the worst films we've ever seen. It has almost NO redeeming qualites.

You don't see a lot of movies do you scamp?

Right up there with Tales of the Past III

youtube.com/watch?v=jpPaoAqO7Eo

No, seriously. It's basically a big budget Tales of the Past III, and I mean that in the best possible way.

I love the original games and I thought this movie was pure garbage on almost all levels. It's based on an RTS yet we got no impressive battle sequences at all. And all the best parts of the lore got cut, like the Burning Legion, Doomhammer's assasination of Blackhand and the sacking of Stormwind. Also the fact that they decided to include the whole brown Orcs retcon from WoW is an automatic minus from me

It's a shame that some of the other CGI strode the uncanny valley like it didn't give a fuck. Specifically the griffons and worgs.

senpai

If you like games and your are ok with a few minor, inconsequential changes to the story, you may like it.
The main flaw in the movie is the godawful pacing which is a result of the studio cutting around 40 minutes of footage. The majority of this footage was probably slower, character-building scenes which they cut in order to get more screenings in a day.
One cut scene was actually released today. youtube.com/watch?v=DgZdlGZ2_TQ

I`ve only seen sections here and there. The Human parts looked like dogshit and were cringey as fuck but the Orcs were super comfy and well done.

It's like two different movies, incredible.

>Easily in my top 10 worst movies of all time
you must have watched only 10 films in your life
go watch some Uwe Boll and then come back

>The main flaw in the movie is the godawful pacing which is a result of the studio cutting around 40 minutes of footage

Honestly what the fuck man, batman vs superman and now this. I no mean calling them perfect or super great movie even with the full ultimate cut, but what the fuck. I noticed a similar vibe similar to the theater version of SvB when there are scenes that just doesn't feel rightly fit.
They need to stop doing this shit.

what a load of shit
also, nelves in the "allegiance" fighting on blackdoom mountain

It's one of the better video game kino adaptations. Considering the director also made Source Code and Moon, if he gets his shit together then the sequel could be better.

Well, the sequel will probably focus more on the orcs, or more specifically Thrall, so thats a good start.

It's okay I guess. I take points off for not having horsecock futa draenei.

Draenei were a mistake

It is a bit generic like most blockbusters but I kind of dig the whole video game-like (yeah no shit) colorful if not gaudy fantasy that doesn't try to be as sophisticated as LOTR.

>generic blockbuster trash
yup

Making Orcs dindus was the worst.

They've been dindus since 2002

I liked the first 3 Warcraft Games, never played WoW.
I like fantasy.
It has a huge budget and the people involved were semi-competent.

All these things considered this thing is ludicrously shitty.

what does this movie retcon? unless I'm retarded, everything in the movie was already established in the games and books/comics.

I watched it knowing absolutely nothing about warcraft. It is a hot, disgusting mess. The costumes and sets look very bad and can easily take you out of the movie, but the animation of the orcs and spells definitely makes up for it. The male human characters have beards, and that's all you'll ever know about them. There is a lot of unexplained bullshit in it that i didn't get, but i guess it's probably for the wow fans, or they will be explained or future movies. (if that's even going to happen) I give it a 5/10, but it's still miles better than any other videogame-based movie.

Basically everything that came out after wow is nothing but huge retcons left and right.

I enjoyed it. I think the love subplot was not needed and I really wanted to see more of Medivh.I only played Warcraft 3

it was nice visually. what more did you want from the characters given the size of the cast?

Say what you will, but how can you not think that the orc CGI was spot on? Every orc scene was the best part of the movie.

your friends are obviously neckbeards. fucking owning everybook. probably spent their entire teenage life on the games. so of course staying true to the stereotype of neckbeards, they will hate everything that wasn't like the experience they first had with the series.

yeah I was confused. Why did he keep them alive, was there some good in him still(if yes than why did it need to be called back) did he need them for a spell or to drain them boost? some indicator would have been nice. also is the drain permanent even if you don't die?could the warrior been drained a bit so they could have kept the gate open bit longer?Does one life even count? at first I assumed the mage was using his own life but I concluded that he used the leftovers(or maybe it costs less when you port on the same world)

>Cadgar was the most enjoyable character in the movie.
wut?
>So many of his scenes felt like they were ripped from a porno. Anyone else get that vibe?
some. mostly the one where they sit at the fire and garona (or the warrior) says "he wants to mate with me/you"

>like the Burning Legion
I think they had hints but cut them once it was clear they would not get a second movie.
the green juice made them do it.seriously what was the point of peace talks in the movie, even if the main magic orc is stopped most of the race is still insane

The big ass armor and swords looked a lot less silly than I expected

are you one of those delusional faggots who things batman v superman ultimate edition fixed it all?BvS is a prime example of metaphors and meaning of the movie being given more priority than actual story and its cohesion

its better than independence day resurgence

>unexplained bullshit
like what?

It made Game of Thrones look like Lord of the Rings.

It was shit. The pacing is shit. The editing is shit. Most of the shots are closeups and battle sequences are close up with shaky cam. The actors are stiff, resulting the drama and the humor felt flat. The CGI looks great, but when you put it alongside of the human actors, it didn't blend too well. The plot is okay, but the ending is kinda dumb.

Since I've never played the first Warcraft, I know nothing about it beforehand. But I asked some anons from Sup Forums and they said that the movie plot is straight upgrade from the game simply because the game had very little plot.

Felt like a cheap fantasy movie made by a first time director, quite surprising from Duncan Jones. Hopefully the next one fix everything that wrong with it.

God. We really needed more Doomhammer.

if theres things unexplained then youre retarded, they literally did the stupid thing called "tell dont show"

In the sequel, Duncan plans on making him a sort of mentor to Thrall as he grows up. So expect to see more of him.

It's pretty fucking bad. I'm glad I went with a friend so we could laugh at it. The only worthwhile scene was when the main orc dueled Gul'dan. If the whole movie had the care put into it that that scene did, it would have been fantastic

It's a movie that, while bad, you can see the potential in. The opening scene is great. If it kept up that tone consistently it could be amazing. The human actors drag everything down.
