charlize theron

That wasn't hard

>well designed

>nacelles snap off like twigs

I said well designed

...

this, obviously

Durrrrr

...

...

...

That's not even the best looking Star Destroyer

...

Not really a spaceship by any stretch but it's so badass it'll get a pass.

The Star Destroyer is a great, iconic design - along with the Death Star. But I hate how the cultural zeitgeist of the OT causes every Star Wars thing since to be about a NEW, EVEN MORE BADASS, super weapon (I'm looking at you Shadows of the Empire).

That's a shit design

...

star trek ships look dog shit

>let's put our shield generators RIGHT ON TOP of our bridge - that should work

...

Enterprise is far more iconic

>well designed

What's well designed about a giant triangle that can't dump heat and is designed in layers as if it is a terrestrial ship, meaning it has limited visibility in the 360 degree fighting environment that is outerspace?

Only one capital sized ship was ever close to being "well designed" in a film. Pic related.

Star destroyers are covered in laser cannons and turrets. I'm sure there some sort of secondary bridge on the ventral side too

Where else are you going to put them?
>hurr durr they put their most vulnerable location right under the most defensively strong structure, what a bunch of MORONS!

DELETE THIS

All cinematic ship designs are fucking dogshit

Not as dogshit as that "girl" lmao

those solar panels are unrealistic

Confirmed no-guns

Everyone looks badass, expect for the pigeon toed retard

The fuck is that supposed to be?

Another fucking autist that thinks he's so goddamn smart.

Physical structures have a top and a bottom. This unavoidable.
Submarines and fighter-planes also function in 360 degree fighting environments and guess what?
They're also "built in layers" with the cockpit/bridge on the top and weapons that can only fire in one direction.

...

God dammit! He's doing it again!

Different guy.

I will agree this is more iconic, but its a shit design

...

>well designed ship
>literally looks like an arrowhead

The ocean has gravity, and the job is to keep pressure out.

In space, there is no gravity (or weak gravity), and the job is to keep pressure IN.

Admiral Cuck's ship

>decks laid out like a fucking boat
>exposed bridge tower for no fucking reason at all

"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""well""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" designed indeed

I like the Battlestar designs. They look and feel like they're built to last. No faggy lasers; this thing is built to tank nukes.

hey dumbass, when your ship is thrusting you want the engines "below" you so that "gravity" is pushing you down. you don't want the engines perpendicular to the decks because when you start thrusting everyone that isn't a chair gets thrown back against a wall at several Gs, and the rear wall is now suddenly the floor in most rooms

The heatsinks are cool as fuck

But the bridge is like that so they can see the surrounding battle since there will likely be flag officers and staff desu!

>solar panels on a deep space mission

Every time I see the battlestars using their flak screen my dick is diamonds. I wonder how big those shells are and how many they can store in the ship

...

>>>>"""""""""""""""well designed"""""""""""""""

There gos your fifty sextillion empire tax dollars.

Iconic, not great design.

Not iconic enough, bad design

Not bad contender

The use of old Raptors was awesome

Honestly, let's just say Millennium Falcon and call it a thread

Your taste in...that reflects how familiar you are with dog shit.

You Motherfucker!

You know the Mon Calamari fleet was focusing all their firepower on it too! Don't act like you don't know that and it was only one ship making a suicide run!

MotherFUCK YOU!!!

>ignoring the fact that Star Wars ships generate their own gravity fields
Oh look MORE autism.

This. They even explain why they basically look like variations of planes - their ships can go atmospheric

what if the artificial gravity fails

you'll sure be in a quite the pickle then

...

how does the enterprise land? like how does it stand upright?

this is kinda a good point - realistically it should tip over in atmosphere

kinocore of scifi

watch voyager

don't you ever let me see you telling people to do that again

Very underrated design

...

make me faget

What if your life-support system fails?

ACOOOOOO
C
H
E
E
MOYA

you will surely die far less quickly than you will if suddenly you go flying into the back wall at 10Gs

BA-RUMM BRUNNEN-G!

The Acclamator class is my shipfu

Piece of shit design, leaks fuel all over on the ground

...

oh you nigger

Please the Imperial Class shits all over Executor

Nothing beats the Argama.

Except for the Argama MKII.

40k is shit

You're shit

>mah penis

don't you have some overpriced models to be buying

You're a fucking nonce

Heighliners are awesome too, one fit the entirety of House Atredies and still had room for a fuckton more cargo

The standard star destroyer is better and more iconic and the millenium falcon, Constitution and galaxy enterprises are more iconic.

>not based albion

A. I dont think those are solar panels, I believe its a dust shield.
B. Its gonna be close to a star anyway, might as well use free energy.

>Aerodynamic ships
>in a vacuum

why

s.hswstatic.com/gif/space-shuttle-launch3a.jpg

muh style

Cause you can design a ship anyway you want when you're not dealing with friction that much

These aren't solar panels.
They're used as a sail for a Laser on pandora/earth.

Dead is dead.

What is the aether?

>no Stargate ships
sure is summer here

Daedalus was the shit. I fucking loved the power creep in that show.

There are no ships in stargate except that pyramid ship. The tv show doesn't count and isn't canon.

sg1 only please

every other stargate show is fucking awful

the movie is the worst of all, pleb

>The tv show doesn't count and isn't canon.

I fucking love the swordfish, and faye's ship.

The only space battle ship design that makes any fucking sense.

Seriously, why do ships need aerodynamics in space? Just build a giant cube or sphere, throw thrusters and weapons all around it and call it a day.

Remember Death Blossom ?
Can you beat this ? Protip: Fuck You

The movie is the only thing getting rebooted fuckboi. Your little SG1 and SG:Universe are gettin rekt. Deal with it.
