It's not just you

...

...

>Thinking any of you could go back to the 1950's and be normal human beings after being ruined by the internet
>Thinking any of this is possible with the internet
>Thinking any of this is possible in the age of information

On top of all that, all you guys have is a bunch of marketing pictures that are most likely

1. Actors
2. Models
3. Definitely people who signed up to take these pictures

It's no different then posting some picture of cara delevigne doing a carls junior commercial.

Ignore the flag I'm from America originally.

Its not just you, I worked in 2 retirement homes and would talk to old people every day, including ones too young to enjoy 50's and ones older than 50's.

With extreme consistency I was told by all agegroups that both the 50's and 90's were best. Even people who were in their prime in the 50's sometimes admitted 90's was almost as good, just as good, or better. Its these two decades and they'd even list reasons. I can't remember all of them now, especially the 50's ones.

They did tell me "don't you think 50's was as wholesome as its portrayed, media had to be that way back then, couples still fought and wives got beat and you still had to defend your house with a gun or club". Makes sense.

These people are not nostalgiafagging, some of them had grown up in the 30's and 40's. Of course those ages were shit, but they were still conscious enough to discern the 60's, 70's, 80's werent as good as BOTH the 50's and 90's.

The only variants were people picking half decades. I heard late 70's mentioned and I forget what else.

Some of them are probably still alive

>Social cohesion
>Homogenous
>Monoculture
>Fair wages -- you could raise a family on a factory job
>Everything cost reasonable amounts of money
>Things were built to last
>Cheap houses and cars
>Education was inexpensive
>Women were viewed as mothers instead of sex machines
>Society demanded politeness
>Everyone dressed well
>A time of great economical progress
The '50s were objectively a good era to be alive.

I'll be voting for Hillary to have the next WWIII. That will bring back the '50.

>left: upper-middle class people from the 50s
>right: lower class people from the early 2000s

Why does Sup Forums keep doing this?

fuck that shit, I want to live in the vision what was predicted in the 80's.

>>woman were viewed as mothers instead of sex machines
This. I think it is mainly because a woman now has nothing more to offer or give than sex. Almost no woman can cook or clean anymore. The only thing they can offer now is sex and to birth a child.

yea the 90s were great

What vision? The only vision you'll have is pic related.

>you will never cruise the main drag
>you will never raise a nuclear family in a nice clean suburb
>V8 engines are dying

>50's
>Good

reeee, why did you stopped Patton at Plzeƈ?

Sure, there were white people problems in the 50's, but they were just that.

I don't recall the 90's as being that great, except the internet boom was fun and I made money in the stock market. Everybody I knew had a crazy job at some place that had venture capital money to burn.

But yeah, I know a guy that went to high school in the 50's, and according to him, it was terrible if you were poor or different, but then he's pretty crazy. When has HS ever been good when you're poor or different?

It was good but it will never return.

In 1950, the US economy was 50% of the worlds's GDP. When US has an economic monopoly over the rest of the world, we could afford high paid union workers and a blue collar middle class. Now that those days are gone, we gotta hustle hard.

After the war we have to rebuild everything, there will be no shit will stop us from being rad as fuck.

I can't wait to pump all my coins into arcade cabinets

Can you give me refuge? Am loyal and redpilled.

It was a good time for America, mainly because they weren't BTFO by WWII like half of Europe.

Don't look at conditions, look at worldview and possibilities. No young person in the 50s faced what all millennials see as inescapable.

...

...

Have all of them, I tell you man, if this shit is over my shoelaces will tie themselves.

Also I will make neon pink a cool color again and a not faggish shit like it is today.

I'm black so I generally never want to think about the 50's, but man was that a great time to be white.

Possibly the best time period in history to be a white person.

GB isn't half of Europe.

we weren't the only targets for bombing.

It is over glorified but has to have been better than it is now.

There was a much greater chance your family would be intact back then. The democrats fucked your shit up son.

>i dont want to go back to a time where blacks had jobs and functional families.

wew lad.

damn! 1950s vegas didnt look too shabby!

>having a father figure and a stable family was bad

Having a very strong community and ideological bind made things a bit nicer.

1950's America was under the public threat of nuclear war and segregation opened up social niches for more people. When you destroy segregated communities you effectively displace the lower functioning individuals from their niche

Sorry the 50s were shit for youse guys :/

Right in this thread

A COWARD SALUTES THE FLAG

FUCK YOUR FLAG AND FUCK U TOO

youtu.be/d8eYJU3Zu1M

>MAGA

don't worry m8
after the ruskies fucked off your 80's hit us in the 90's so It wasn't that bad.
After this wave everything went to shit here.

Ignoring the constantly looming threat of atomic annihilation and the red scare, the 50s was a pretty great time to be alive. It makes sense for it to be like that, after a rough 2 decades of war and poverty the US bounced back bigger and better than ever. The war actually fueled the economy, creating jobs along with cheap housing and commodities. It was a rebound period that had all the best aspects of the American way of life rolled into one small decade. Then it all went to shit again slowly but surely. Every nation has its golden age, I'd argue that the 1950s was and still is America's defining golden age.

>black dude
>raising a family
>you make less then your white counterparts but with the money you make you still get all the luxurys in life
>family is strong everyone's happy
>just gotta make sure you don't piss of whitey or some ghosts on horseback will be burning lower case t's in your front yard

It was great for white people, who were 90% of the US population at the time

Granted people were still getting shot in the cities, children and wives were still getting beaten, and the media swept a lot of problems out of sight. But it was way better than the 20s, 30s, and 40s.

The 'greatest' generation was born during a depression, raised to take nothing for granted, came back from WW2 with government checks and bought cheap freshly-built houses and coasted into union jobs for life.

>that pic
There were chemtrails in the 50s, though. They may not have been as abundant, but they were definitely in use by then.

Sounds good to me.

unless you were a negro or a spic, yes, they were

Statistically that is very true. I guess I'm thinking about this from my own perspective since I grew up in a great stable family with loving parents, against all odds.

Well it's better to be black right now than it was back then, so long as you are in a comparable living situation

I wonder how I would have fit into 50s society being that I'm half Mexican and half white but my only real tells that I'm part Mexican is my facial hair and my ability to tan extremely well even though I'm pasty white under my clothes

So who is the other half that wasn't destroyed?

It is heavily romaticised and autists who didn't even live in the time period glorify the 50s. They see this period through rose-tinted glasses, and I bet some of them, being naive and ignorant, want to go back to that time period.

Not to mention the massive government projects that fueled most of the innovations of the 20th century.

DARPA, which lead to DARPANET, university mainframe computers which inspired a generation of students to drop out and start today's tech giants in their garages, along with the Manhattan project and nuclear research.

Not to mention GE. Basically every huge invention of the 1900s came from wartime projects

I would kinda argue that
With all these chimp outs happening and how terrible blacks are in our society I would be ashamed to be black with all the others bring you down

You can still live like this

Good ol Hitler said it best
Mankind has grown strong in eternal struggles and it will only perish through eternal peace.

This is correct. Crime stats for the 1950s were actually slightly worse. They peaked in the late 80s but have been falling across the board ever since (THANKS CLINTON)

Crooked Hillary Clinton, do you know where you are? You're in the Jungle Baby!

..,.,.

Think of it this way. You're more likely to be unemployed now, but back then being unemployed meant not eating. Now it means having to share someone else's Netflix account.

The average poor person today lives way better than the upper middle-class did in the 50s. The cheapest Walmart flatscreen you can buy is leagues better than the televisions available back then.

Why the US turned shit since the 50s? What exactly are the reasons?

50's Vegas was the best.

cultural subversion
hippies

Blacks were better off though. Back then, you guys owned business and had functional households. Now, you get to sit in the front of the bus, but your people are suffering.

the 50s were shit though the 50s were the meme decade the decades that followed were better and better until the 00's of course. the 2010's are looking way better though

The lesser-involved/mostly neutral parts, like norway, sweden, spain, portugal, switzerland, luxembourg, iceland, etc. that didn't take as much infrastructural damage or face as many losses in population or face economic ruin.

funny enough, it was a good time to be black during the postwar boom economically at least.

The economic bubble of the 50s began to burst in the late 60s. Commodity prices went up to match wages, inflation ramped up, along with civil strife and the Korean and Vietnam wars being more damaging than initially imagined.

As the economy went south, crime rates surged in the 70s. LBJ and Nixon implemented social programs, but both presidents were unpopular. So was Ford. And then Carter. Americans lost most of their faith in the federal government up until the 80s.

Also, Nixon opened up a trade deal with China, resulting in much of America's manufacturing base getting outsourced.

Yes and no. There were more black-owned businesses, but this was mostly out of necessity due to segregation. Plus literacy rates were lower, crime rates were worse, and there's the fact that the average poor person today lives a higher quality of life than an upper-class person of the 50s.

I'm interracial and a housewife, but I know I wouldn't have been looked upon kindly back then. Doesn't matter how much I love the time period.

Don't forget about the highways as well. Thank Hitler for that inspiration

The only reason the times were so good for the US were that the rest of the developed world was literally in ruins and bankrupted. The US had pretty much the only sound economy on the entire planet. If we want a repeat of this, there needs to be another global war which the US comes out of unscathed.

How do we start such war?

communism and the British invasion

Yeah user, segregation was great

Wait for Islam

Meixcans/Hispanics were actually liked. A Cuban was the husband of one of the era defining television programs, I Love Lucy, and no one batted an eye.

It objectively was.

He was light skinned though.
I don't imagine the era being very kind to me, an Italian-Japanese mix, even if I am fair skinned.

>muh racism

Find picture of that shit happening anywhere else but the deep south.

Oh please tell us why o wise master

you'd be just fine

makes sense

50s - 90s
70s - 10s
60s - 80s

I feel bad for people who lived in the 1950s. It was a better time, but to watch it all be destroyed in the decades to come must have been tragic.
