Sure he's a douche. But he's got a point

Sure he's a douche. But he's got a point.

He knows it, too. Goes to show that people who critique him on that point haven't listened to the album

Mara taunts me 'neath the tree
She's like, "Oh great, that's just what we all need
Another white guy in 2017
Who takes himself so goddamn seriously."
She's not far off, the strange thing is
That's pretty much what I thought when I started this
It took me my whole life to learn to the play the G
But the role of Oedipus was a total breeze

He knows he's a douche? Or he knows he has a point?

Very much both things

his point is that he has no point but is self-aware of having no point. which still makes it his worst album

Fear fun is excellent tho

Try again. His social commentary is spot on.

> His social commentary is spot on.
social commentary is dead

You sure about that? Maybe go outside sometime.

...

why outside?
the album was made indoors

>DUDE RELIGION IS FOR DUMB PEOPLE
>DUDE POLITICIANS ARE CORRUPT
>DUDE POP CULTURE IS SHALLOW
>DUDE WHITE PEOPLE SUCK

damn, truly #woke. my eyes are opened. I truly needed this guy to sing to me about these things to be aware of them. I totally learned a new perspective from his lyrics.

you seem to be missing the point of the entire album

he's not trying to fix any of the world's problems, or even imply that anyone should try to. he just thinks it's all funny.

>he's not trying to fix any of the world's problems, or even imply that anyone should try to

then he shouldn't bother making music about them.

>implying people make music to bring about change in the world
>simultaneously saying "social commentary is dead"

nothing wrong with a bird's eye approach to these topics

>cont.

he literally has a song titled "Birdie"

Sorry you're so insecure about yourself that you can't have a little perspective.

i didn't write thisalso social commentary is dead. he made the album indoors

I ask this with complete sincerity: are you a teenager or early 20 something?

Because if you think FJM's perspective is anything but immediately self-evident when you open a newspaper or turn on TV, then you must be too young to have spent much time thinking about the world in a meaningful capacity.

You hear, but you don't listen. You should be out murdering people right now. Kill 4 or 500 people, then you can *really* offer society something. :)

how is this any better than the kind of folk you'd find on bandcamp

Dunno, I skip Leaving L.A. whenever I listen to the album, and I still think it's great without it.

pleb

>play the G

what did he mean by this?

He's talking about Mara's G spot
