Why didn't Sup Forums discuss Monsters when it was released? What does Sup Forums think of it?

Because it's a cliche, predictable love story with nothing interesting.

And the two aliens fucking? Come on.

It was pretty good, but there was nothing new to say about it.

Also the best way to piss off your audience is to make a great movie with a shit ending.

The two mains were unrelatable unlikeable fucks. The disaster in America and the alien sex scene were the only good parts of the film.

Is it ever explained why the girl was in mexico in the first place?

Hands down one of the worst movies I've ever seen in my life.

The leads were Birdemic bad. Edwards is a shitty director and this movie (coupled with Godzilla) gives me the worst possible expectations for Rogue One.

The talk of reshoots to undoubtedly scramble and save the droll, meandering clusterfuck of footage he shot did not surprise me in the slightest. He's a terrible choice for a Star Wars movie, but Disney will not learn their lesson until the Jurassic World guy ruins Episode IX.

The qt girl has done lesbian softcore porn

sure :)

>Why didn't Sup Forums discuss Monsters when it was released?
It was discussed. Not just to extreme lengths like the latest capeshit.

And it's just a bad movie with some good ideas. But ultimately it's just really really boring.

enjoy your ban, senpai

It was shit, with shitty character walking for two hours until we saw 2 whales fucking and THE FUCKING END FUCK YOU

Girl was qt. Dialogue was shit.

faggot

I fucking love this movie. I almost never say this, but I genuinely think it's a lot deeper than most people realise.

It's crazy that it was made on a shoestring budget with barely any crew. Gives me a lot of respect for Gareth Edwards.

Boring as fuck.

I wonder what's behind posts like these or why this thread was made.

Because basically this guy nailed it. This movie doesn't need or deserve any discussion.

Monster movie without any monsters.

This thread is proof that Monsters is an excellent pleb filter.

My theory is that producers of Hollywood did see something they like in this movie. It's not something audience like , but the producers probably saw or heard about the director being cost effective in making this and they decided to throw him Godzilla

It's a shitty pro-immigration film. It ends with the aliens fucking to drive home the fact that they are having babies in our world, making them "citizens".

>Why didn't Sup Forums discuss Monsters when it was released?
confirmed not being on Sup Forums for very long

>implying a giant monster movie can be pro anything
I think you may be reading too deep into it.

There's nothing wrong with legal immigration.

Enjoyable to watch once (plus cute girl), but it felt pointless. It's a "the journey is the destination" kind of film.

Rich girl doing some charity thing I think.

...

Source or it didn't happen

just fapped to it

I watched it before I became a movie autist and even then I was disappointed.

The effects are pretty bad, and the writing/acting is average.

The premise isn't even believable. That the whole world would be so apathetic to an alien invasion? Come the fuck on, you literally just see some lazy mexicans complaining about how they have to move because the US tells them to and that's the extent of politics in the film.
What about fucking China, or Russia, or literally anybody else? No it's just mexico and USA.

I did find it funny when Trump started going on about building a wall, made me think of this movie.

>What about fucking China, or Russia, or literally anybody else? No it's just mexico and USA.
I guess that means you hated District 9 as well.

>The two mains were unrelatable unlikeable fucks.

This. I don't know why they had to make them so insufferable.

By the end I just wanted them both to die.

The film is dominated by human drama rather than focusing on sci-fi concepts, so it's of little interest to the capeshitter autists of Sup Forums.

Great flick

>Why didn't Sup Forums discuss Monsters when it was released?

Newfag.

she got fat too

People didn't like the ending? Wut

Even better

it still baffles me that everything that worked for this film was lacking in Godzilla. What the fuck was Edwards thinking?

It's pretty mediocre. I admire how it could be done on such a small budget but there are glaring problems:

>Movie pacing is extremely slow
>Characters are uninteresting, but the main focus for some reason
>Action scenes are mediocre and far between
>Has all these immigration undertones but doesn't say much

Thought it would grab me but didbnt

>Why didn't Sup Forums discuss Monsters when it was released?
It did, you were too busy swimming in your fathers nutsack or refreshing your subreddit.
>What does Sup Forums think of it?
It was kind of trite from what I remember. The performances were weak, the world wasn't well-built, and effects were cheap.

Sup Forums likes Pacific Rim, but not Monsters

sad.

Not great, second one was a pile of shit.

people were butthurt that the movie didn't match their expectations based on the trailer.
