Tigers are ambush hunters, they don't have much fight in them. They probably couldn't do much damage to an elephant before they gas out or are just flat out stomped to death.
Elephants aren't lumbering whales with a 30 second turning circle. Elephants have a breathtaking amount of power at their disposal, and can put on an impressive burst of speed when required. Youtube videos of elephants fucking shit up.
