It has been almost 6 years since I put any sort of effort into finding new Death Metal bands to listen to or even new material by older bands.
I guess I'm just asking for people to share some brutal stuff here.
Death Metal
Vektor - Terminal Redux
that's the most brutal death metal album I've listened to as of late
Okie dokie, thanks.
Not sure if you'd consider any of these death metal but I'll list a few. Carcass(everything except newest album), Morbid Angel, Obituary, Misery Index, Skeletonwitch, Nile, Necrophagist, Bolt Thrower, Meshuggah Cattle Decapitation, Cannibal Corpse.
Misery index is trash and you know it
>Meshuggah
discordia is p fuckin sick. the rest though i could take or leave
>Misery Index
>Skeletonwitch
>Necrophagist
>Mesuggah
>Cattle Decapitation
Ever heard of The County Medical Examiners
thanks man. Carcass rules.
The new Dying Fetus is tits!
>Not sure if you'd consider any of these death metal but I'll list a few.
If only people on this site had better reading comprehension.
>Dequandro
this can't be real
they aren't laughing at you because you think those bands are death metal they're laughing at you for listening to faggot shit
yeah well that's just like your opinion man
2015 death metal album of the year was Perdition Temple - Tempters Victorious
2016 didnt have a huge front runner for me but I though Gatecreeper was the most exciting. Lots of others.
This year I think Necrot is in front right now.
>things nu-males say
Qrixkuor - Three Devils Dance
Surprisingly legit for Britbong meal
Dragged Into Sunlight, Portal, Blood Incantation
Skeletonwitch isn't death metal and he should already know the rest of those bands. They're still good tho.
It's just a dumb movie quote. Literally has nothing to do with anything about nu-males. Nether does any of the music I've listed.
>Portal, Blood Incantation
+++
Still waiting for Dark Descent to send me my fucking Starspawn tape.
Is it just me or is death metal kinda uninteresting in general? Like, there are only a few bands doing anything new and not shitty.
Depends. What do you think of as examples of the "unoriginal/shitty" trend"?
Overproduced tech death, or wigger slam
There's shit a lot more interesting than muh lazer guitars and $l@mz in modern DM. The new wave of pumped-up caverncore and esoteric DM is pretty interesting, at least in my opinion. Mitochondrion, Abyssal, Antediluvian, Portal, etc.
Major ups for Spinebreaker. I thought I was the only /meal/tard that knew them. I wish they'd put out on cassette.
not enough hardcore/death metal hybrids out there imo
Agreed. Also, check out Gatecreeper if you don't already know them.
yeah, they're great
I saw their set in LA earlier this year, was a complete massacre in the pit
i dont know what you're implying but necrophagist is good
>Abyssal
this is black/doom not death
They're black/death/doom. Don't like it, talk to Encyclopedia Metallum, Discogs, etc.
id say it leans more black/doom than death
A R G H O S L E N T
They definitely have strong black/doom influences, but how much does it matter when it just makes it sound like slow, dirty death metal?
I didn't mean to say that they're purely DM, of course. But I don't split hairs.
Vastum
Vasaeleth
Obliteration
>dragonforce with harsh vocals
New Suffering Hour, Phrenelith and check out Horrendous's shit, especially if you're into osdm.
>Retarded forced meme from a metal archives review
w-what
>tfw you grew out of death metal
I thought that as well for a while. Turns out I was just yearning for some tech death.
