Engage Eight
wlb plays a shallow zone before the 30 and have someone spy the rb too easy
Nelson or Adams would be open in that case. Youre only taking away the other options.
Try to close the pocket as quickly as possible. It's a 5 on 4 downfield which is not a gimme for the offence, especially if the QB is being rushed into making a decision by the pass rush/blitz
the whole point of that offense* are the quick slants by the wide outs. So getting to the qb shouldn't happen
It's pretty simple desu, the corners play man, the safety over the top picks up the tight end off the release, and the other safety has to read the play correctly to stop the tail back coming out in the flat (will take a few seconds to develop). If everyone covers their assignments then you would hope the pass rush could create enough pressure to force a sub optimal play or generate a sack/loss of down.
Cover 2
full blitz
Cover 2 should do
Play man, press receivers to ruin the timing, one of the linebackers sits in a zone in the middle to take away quick slants/quick pass to te, blitz with other lb off the edge to send 5 and quick sack before the play opens up more.
>bought madden 15 since I always enjoyed movies about american football and watched some games
>don't know what the fuck I'm doing
back to fifa
wtf the packer's outdoor practice field looks nothing like that
and the don hutson center looks nothing like that
*packers'
Those slants will come open against man. You need to bring zone pressure, so that you can beat the 5 man protection before the deep routes develop.
olbs dropping into zones does about all you can do. the rest looks right already for general purposes.
it's layered to have different reads at different times and stretch the field. but it's madden so you can just throw to square or triangle a hell of a lot and there's no reason to let it develop further.
I keep thinking about getting 17 but I'm worried about this so just started another Fifa 17 career for now. Can anyone confirm I can play it with only knowing basic rules?
95% of the time I understand why the play stops, but know nothing if tactics.
>2017
>playing madden
top kek
>tfw cant find nfl 13 for the ps vita in yuro
>people selling them used ask 100 shekels
fuck, is it at least on the european PSN?
>Can anyone confirm I can play it with only knowing basic rules?
Can confirm. My niece got the hang of madden after playing around with it for awhile
zone blitz or disguised coverage
Being from Green Bay this was my immediate thought upon seeing OP's pic. I haven't played Madden in years but I'm guessing they just have one generic practice field for all 32 teams. Would be neat if in the future they recreate the practice fields for every NFL team.
can confirm too, I know the basics and can play it but I'm clueless on the tactics aspects
I dont know whats the right one to pick and all that, also the player controls seem to be more than they appear, theres a lot more to do
>all that crossing over the middle
as a coach this triggers my autism
You don't need to know any tactics at all on Madden. Just learn some cheese plays and score everytime, it's what I do. Madden AI is pathetic.
>call Spider 2 Y Banana
>AI plays man defense
>TE gets 10 yards of separation when he cuts outside
man defense is fucking shit in this game. unless you have a 95+ rated CB you're getting burned on anything that isn't curl flats
Haven't played any madden games since '07. But on NCAA '12-'14 you could score everytime on the goal line (or convert 1 yarders) by immediately throwing a high bullet to your TE after snapping the ball.
The game would do those leaping one handed jump animations and it couldnt be stopped at all, and the TE would never drop the ball. 3 whole years and this was never patched. I'm sure it worked on madden for those years aswell since they used the same engine.
This. If this is madden 17 and you're actually playing on all madden then you'll get picked by the linebacker trying to force it to one of the slants
>play runningback career mode
>call a screen
>take it to the house every single time
Nice AI, EA.
You have to just hope Rodgers takes a sack sometimes.
Cover 3. Can I go home now?
>we will never have a career mode where you actually have gameplans and dont get to call plays, you approach each week and team differently
That wheel route will torch cover 3 if the QB gets time.
>Punt return block play
>Was pretty much a guaranteed sack in one of the Maddens
EZ
Cover 2 blitz
>mfw the anal annihilation caused by ted ginn slants in ncaa 07
>REEEE STOP RUNNING THE SAME PLAY
congrats, you solved american football
>Mike Vick QB Run in NFL Street
Quick slants are so OP at the 3-1 yard lines if they're blitzing or running man. Just make the 2 TEs block and throw to whichever of the 2 WRs burn their corner faster. If they're in zone just scramble for a TD if there's a hole in the LoS or just throw it away
Now stop stick
Play cover two and user the stick route. Watch the dummy force the out and take it for 6.
