The last great movie star

The last great movie star.
Once he stops it's all over.
What went wrong?

people age?

He's a little guy

I mean why are there no longer actors at his level of stardom

I hope someone will emerge, but Hollywood doesn't seem to work that way anymore.

YO HOMIE

IS THAT MY OSCAR?

who's been in his level previously?

...

Since most action is now-capeshit, and capeshit places quips and destruction porn ahead of interesting characters, it may take a while before anyone is able to achieve what Cruise, Willis, and Schwarzenegger did

Arnie

he is unknown for normies

Honest answer? People don't really have attention spans anymore. Most people can't even focus on a single 90 minute movie anymore.

So the circumstances which gave birth to the super popularity of Tom Cruise and Co. are dead because people literally can't give them undivided attention anymore and stray away looking for something new.

No one. Tom Cruise is the very top.

maybe there are few movies where he acted exceptionally well but really? calling him last great movie star is just a shallow fanboy baiting.
please, fuck off and die attention whoring pleb

Hollywood is too focused on having a conveyor belt of "THE HOT NEW THING" that lasts 2 years then disappears for the next one in line.

Being the huge movie star requires a life long career, and modern Hollywood star factories don't produce that.

Yep. It's similar for music. The models of distribution have changed dramatically. I doubt we'll ever see new bands of any genre sell out entire, large stadiums on their own. There are still huge crowds for music, but they're all festivals now. It seems like the 90s were last decade for huge musical acts. That's not to say there aren't great artists in film, music, or otherwise. It's just that times have changed, as have the means of enjoying them.

Mel Gibson is primed for a comeback. I'll support him no matter what he does

>Daniel Day Lewis

he's already stopped in terms of being great so I fail to see any difference between this and when he actually stops.

is leo not?

hollywood? more like that army of people who wants to become popular and make millions by "being popular".
attend some of the audition sessions here in Orlando.

>back in my days actors were not shit
>here's the last one worthy
-- old faggot OP

>great movie star = great actor
LMAO

LMAO
response worthy of an intellectual poster

>star

Leo is pretty g8 m8.

This has nothing to do with acting. It's about star power

mhm star power aka mystical mojo.
and how they become stars in a first place?
they are getting recognition not for just being them.

Well John Wayne couldn't act, Arnie couldn't act.

Dicaprio isn't a massive movie star?

still here

What is cruise's best flick? Collateral or a few good men?

IS THIS YOUR OSCAR? YEAH IT IS. WHY, YOU WANT IT BACK?

>Mel Gibson is primed for a comeback

As much as I wish, he pissed off the Jews way too hard. He's never going to more than low-middle popularity every again.

Edge, Edge and Edgy of tomorrow of course

one was at the start of cinematograph and no one was acting back then
arnie didn't need to act for action movies
those are some of few stars that can be cherrypicked but majority need to act at least passable

Collateral is a film

His best flick is Risky Business of course

Not true at all
Every normie loves Tom Hardy

Ghost Protocol

Edge of Tomorrow.

What would be his worst film? I can't really think of a movie where he either gave a shit performance or was just in a bad movie.

Its crazy how long hes been relevant, his movies are all still popular, you can't go wrong with Cruise.

Knight and Day but it's still fun and he's still good in it

I really wanted to like war of the worlds but I just couldn't. They needed to remove that annoying fucking kid and make it suitable for an R rating
