Just marathoned the pilot, did I like it?

Just marathoned the pilot, did I like it?

yeah. you're gonna like the whole show apart from the finale. the finale will actually be so bad you'll realise that the whole thing was shit. the ride is worth it while you're on it though.

I don't even remember the last season at all.

Second season kind of sucked.

The rest were great though.

This is the only genuinely good TV show since The Sopranos ended.

True Detective S1, The Night Of, Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones are all good shows you silly cuck.

I worked in advertising and I found this shit boring.

You mean since The Wire, Deadwood, and BrBa ended? Agreed

What crawled up your ass today?

I haven't seen The Night Of yet but True Detective, Breaking Bad and Game Of Thrones are literal trash pornography for video game players and anybody who thinks otherwise is infantile about television.

>What crawled up your ass today?

It's impossible for somebody to imply that Breaking Bad was a good show without mentally picturing some fat autistic manchild in a supermarket, lying on the floor, shrieking and thrashing his arms and legs to the point of exhaustion. Forcing his depressed mother to buy him the latest video game the only way he knows how.

It's a cartoon show for infantile beta males.

lol try harder my mouth breathing friend

I'm watching now, just about to finish season 4

Season 3 has been by far the worst, but had a fantastic finale

other seasons have been pretty great

1=4>2>3

so far for me
what's the consensus on 5,6 and 7?

I watched Lover Come Back yesterday. I had forgotten how much Mad Men was inspired by it.

But, yeah, you liked it. Mad Men is good.

You play video games. That alone invalidates any opinion you might have on the quality of a television show.

>mfw on my first rewatch

>game of thrones
>good

>Game of thrones

>Not lumping in Breaking Bad with the bait
This was the true bait post

You watched an entire episode in one sitting?

I'm thinking of watching pic related, but really? like 80+ hours?
Is there a list of just important episodes so I can skip some of this to make it manageable?

Nah, not mentioning The Wire was what made me realize it's a bait

I only took a one Luckies break

Watch it at 1.5x speed, season finales at 1.25

>The Wire

But you're the one who watched it....I can tell you if you liked something that you watched. Fucking dumbasses these days.

No, I'm saying that your post was bait. Giving a pass to the praise of Breaking Bad is bait in and of itself.

One of the very worst shows of mainstream television alongside Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead.

Every episode is important. It's also a far better show than anything somebody like you has ever watched. That's not to say a 90s babby neo memer will be equipped to appreciate it.

if your wife allows you to like it, you can, I think that is the main message of the show.

>90s baby

If you're older than 26 and on Sup Forums literally kys

You can truly skip season 1. Here, I'll summarize it for you.
Tony's uncle Junior and his mom Livia try to have him killed. It doesn't work. He forgives them.

Now you can start on season 2. I think 2-5 are important though so you can't skip those. Then season 6 was split into two parts, A and B. You can skip part A. I'll summarize it here, just leave the thread open until you get to it.
Tony gets shot but then he gets better
Now you can start episode 13.

If you come to a television board and think you have the context required to discuss television without seeing the most important show of modern television then you should literally kill yourself.

You can't even discuss recent shows to any meaningful level without having seen the Sopranos because you are missing essential artistic foundations.

lol you have no idea whats in your future do ya boyo

I've seen the Sopranos and am rewatching it soon you fucking mong, that's the other user in this thread

>You can skip part A
Literally kill yourself. Join The Club and Mayham are two of finest episodes ever aired on television. If you're watching this show to see them progress through the points of a narrative then this show is not for you. The mob plot is the least important thing.

Put an end to this mockery

ow contrare, the mob part is the hook that made it worth a watch and kept you coming bacl. Carmella and her endless money grubbing bitching? snore. Meadow and her boyfriend fighting about a suitcase? Where the fuck is this going? Get back to deals and negotiations and violence

The mob plots could have been removed from the later seasons of the show entirely and it would still be the best show ever made. The finale of the show ended the way it did exactly with the purpose of punishing viewers like you.

Not in the fucking 50s and 60s asshat.

Best fucking opening sequence ever.

Just take your time, man. You don't have to fucking binge. Me and my GF watched Six Feet Under over the course of five or six months, it was great. We are now doing the same with Sopranos.

>ow contrare
You're retarded, and nah, the god tier writing is the hook

>disliking the finale
How can one man be so pleb?

>muh old golds

Mad Men isn't old. It ended last year

>skipping episodes
Do it right or don't do it at all.

Episodes you can skip
>The Legend of Tennessee Moltisanti
>A Hit Is a Hit
>Toodle Fucking-Oo
>D-Girl
>The Telltale Moozadell
>Amour Fou
>Army of One
>Watching Too Much Television
>Mergers and Acquisitions
>Whoever Did This
>Eloise
>Rat Pack
>Where's Johnny?
>In Camelot
>Marco Polo
>Mr. & Mrs. John Sacrimoni Request...
>Moe n' Joe
>Kaisha
>Soprano Home Movies
>Chasing It

Just don't skip any episodes

He's referencing the opening scene of the first episode.

>Old Gold man, huh? Lucky Strike here.

wew

nice b8

Oh, I see

I just started watching it too. Beginning of season 2. Don is fucking retarded for cheating on his wife. She's literally perfect.

>dat scene with the bb gun and the pigeons

>>Soprano Home Movies

>it's a chip and dip

two gifts in one, really

>wanting to skip an episode of Sopranos

The scene where Tony B, Christopher, and Tony are eating together and Tony B and Chrissy can't stop laughing because they were talking shit about Tony while he was gone. Tony kind of catches on to it and Tony B back peddles and turns on Christopher. Earlier in the episode, Chris talks about how the two Tony's would always bully him while he was up at the farm. They get stuck in their old ways and go at him the next day at breakfast and Christopher drives home crying. I don't know why but that dinner and subsequent breakfast scene are just too real to me.

The scene where Peter is trying to exchange it when the Chad is ahead of him in the queue.

pretty great.

Tony the emergent monster by that stage.

Additionally, all the trippy, dreamlike directorial decisions they gave to the farm were really cool.

Like that weird ass wipe when Carm cucks David Strathairn

>skipping episodes ever
I have never understood this. You can't have an objective evaluation of the whole series if you just skip what somebody else told you sucked. Plus, it's not like anybody on Sup Forums's time is so precious they can't waste an hour on a """filler""" episode here and there.

whole show is literally one big cigarette advertisement prove me wrong

it even starts with people smoking and don thinking up an advert for cigarette companies

inb4 some cuck talks about betty getting cancer big fucking deal. bottom line is the whole show you're seeing suave sophisticated don and the other faggots puffing on cigarettes the whole way through. lucky srikes had a 600% sales boost because of mad men.

oh yeah it's a coke ad, too.

The Tony's did nothing wrong. Christopher was a weak beta male and that was his downfall. The betas need to be weeded out or society collapses.

what do you mean?

>it's a Pete dances like an absolute madman episode

I didn't say anything about Tony being wrong or right.

I didn't question his actions regarding Christopher.

I agree with you despite you being a total dickhead.

Idk, I had to skip some episodes when watching Star Trek Next Generation and X-Files. There were just too many episodes and half of them are bad. Sopranos, on the other hand, is literally the greatest television series ever made and every episode is worth seeing.

Talking about how they were "too real to you" suggested to me that you empathized with Christopher in those scenes. My point is that the beta deserves no empathy. I cheered when the Tonys blew him the fuck out and I laughed when the pathetic shit drove home with tears streaming down his face like a woman.

I thought it was heavy handed and too obvious and it made me mad that they thought they could try to play my feelings.
maybe it's because it's steve god damn buscemi who i can't buy as related to either of them

>being this butthurt over adults choosing to smoke
reddit is truly insufferable

I think as they show wore on more of a point was made of how much of a manipulative bullying sadist really Tony is. Was on display in this ep.

>god damn buscemi
>DUDE HERE'S MY COUSIN WHO WAS LIKE A BROTHER TO ME THAT WE'VE NEVER MENTIONED BEFORE IN THE PREVIOUS 4 SEASONS OF TALKING ABOUT MY CHILDHOOD LMAO

I still believe that Tony didn't do anything wrong throughout the entire run of the show.

was a bit like that with Ralphie appearing from fucking nowhere too.

right or wrongs...either way imo he twists the knife in a lot of situations because he can and for not much more reason than he enjoys it.

I think he did one or two bad things but they weren't THAT bad. I'm trying to remember them now, I'm pretty sure it was later in the series when he was being a dick just to be a dick, which is funny and I forgive him.

Displaying your dominance over others is hardly a bad thing. If he didn't beat all those around him down then he would appeared to be less of a strong leader.

I understand it from that point of view. It's more I reckon he enjoys it, gets off on being cruel.

>It's more I reckon he enjoys it, gets off on being cruel.
What's wrong with that?

>the way tony forgot they were separated because he cheated and remembers it as "I was tired of Carm telling me what to do"

wasn't he in Miami or something?

although yeah his arrival was pretty abrupt

but I guess that happens/ed in the Mafia, drafting people in to fill holes

Well, it's sadism. Tabling the right or wrong, it's a documented psychological disorder.

the on-screen excuse is he comes back from miami, but it was because the season was originally about tony's mother until the actress died

also you'll remember ralphie wasn't drafted to fill a hole because tony (and a lot of other people) hated him, so exactly why he came back exactly then is a little unclear

Oh. I totally disagree. In that moment, I was on Chris's side. Tony B and him were getting along. The only reason he turned on him was because he was afraid that Tony would find out he was bad mouthing him to Chris. The true man was Christopher, he didn't sell Tony B out. Instead, he let Tony B shift the tone of the dinner to gang up on Chris and he was sad to think that his father figure would gang up on him.

Doesn't mean Chris didn't get what was coming to him. Fucking drug addict.

can we all agree that the high point of the show is when Sally Draper rubbed herself at her friend's house?

I see what you mean. This was the same episode that ends with Tony purposely trying to piss Janice off because she was unloading on others at her group therapy.

Ah right, it's been a while since I've rewatched

Wrong thread, friendo. This is a Sopranos thread

What triggered the monopoly fight? Can't actually remember.

wrong. It was Vito Jr taking a shit in the showers.

That was because Tony was poking fun at Janice and Bobby wasn't having it. He kicked the shit out of Tony.

Bobby was totally right too.

"You Sopranos, you take everything too far."

He said she sucked dicks under the boardwalk.

he _left_ the shit

>age advantage
>Tony was still weak from being shot
>Sucker punched tony like a little bitch

If it was a level playing field bobby would have been completely destroyed.

and then Bobby escalated it by punching him. And then Tony went and did something nice for Bobby, let him become a real man, like his dad.

It's fine though. He coerced Bobby into murdering someone to exact revenge.

I remember liking Bobby when I first watched the show but on a rewatch the man is the biggest beta cuck.

>And then Tony went and did something nice for Bobby

It was so cute. Then he heads back to the cabin, sees his half-soprano daughter and hugs her, thanking tony with every heart beat and loving the half soprano child more than his others.

They're in the Mafia, murdering somebody is no big deal at all. The very fact that making Bobby kill someone was some meaningful thing speaks to Bobby's inherent shortcomings as a man.

who says I'm butthurt lol

might u be projecting there darling

>americans clap when their daughters get their drivers licenses
