Anything by Alex Gibney.

I missed it when it's on tv

I watched Zero Days and was shocked. Really makes you think

Anything and everything by Adam Curtis

...

Can you recommend anything?

youtube.com/playlist?list=PL456A47A509187782

Anyone know anything technology related, similar to Zero Days?

Sure, start with his sagas, the century of the self, move on with the century of the self (it was first concieved as a sort of continuation to the century of the self), then the trap, then this Then work your way back to his earlier work, my favourite being the living dead and specificaly the episode titled you have used me as a fish for long enough.
Also watch this so you get a taste what he is all about:

There is no sub or even international release of this

The one of snowden has a similar vibe to it, also there was a documentary show called Dark Net which you might enjoy.

Watching Milosevic, Tudjman, etc candidly talk about their actions and the war while it was still ongoing is quite surreal

This is fucking fantastic

>move on with the century of the self
Messed that up, meant to say the power of nightmares

...

Prepare to Cry

i didn't know he was also a documentarian, will check it out and have a laugh m8.

No way I'm watching this lol

I remember Inside Job actually affecting me pretty deeply. I had a chance for a life in academia (no not PhD in African basket weaving or whatever fucking shit) but seeing how influenced academia is by politics and the current zeitgeist of the time made me cynical about scholarly people, they basically just tell policy makers what they want to hear and if you're not saying the right thing you get drowned out.

It's actually good

OP

DO YOU ENJOY BEING MANIPULATED BY HOLLYWOOD AND CORPORATE AMERICA?

No wonder you like such a shit propaganda movie that completely ignored the federal reserve.

...

>LE IT'S ALWAYS THE FEDERAL RESERVE MEME LE IT CAN'T POSSIBLY BE REGULATION MEME

Por que no los dos?

...

Alex has an extensive body of work

...

...

Watch Mea Maxima Culpa and Going Clear
If you like anything Wall Street related watch Client 9 and Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room.

...

Don't feel like getting all depressed though

...

Don't know that feel
Never have to make that choice but if I have I don't think I would take a documentary that seriously

Watch this instead its weird and fun

Chinese people have idealistic expectation of their civil servants

Thats impressive, does he releases them on his site or feed them directly to youtube?

Which is better?

Lake of fire, surprised it isn't well known

A China tv and Japan NHK joint series on "the glory of Silk Road"

If you're at all interested in coups, Patricio Guzman is required watching.

>it's another Chinese construction are corrupted episode

I recommend you watching some of the stuff yanis varoufakis has been talking about lately, its all on youtube, he dissects perfectly the symbiotic relationship you are talking about.
In a much broader sense watch pic related it deals with ufos but its more concerned with the way narratives, world views, are built. Its very interesting.

Depends on your interests. I prefer Fog of War because of the structure and soundtrack.

The Imposter

youtube.com/watch?v=uEWB7ehhdPg

This is a French documentary about the Tokyo Tribunal of WWII. Sadly this video dubbed and subbed with Chinese.

What's it called in English? I cant into moonrunes

A bite of China
wwe.youtube.com/watch?v=PCgYUKPNCug
A gourmet program with some topics

Zeitgeist

Kidding, pic related.

prepare to hate canada

Tokyo Trial: Judging Japan

One weird doc about island dispute made by a weirdo

You should probably check this out too. It's a little slower than Salvador Allende but almost as good.

Jiro Dreams of Sushi.

I'm sure everyone has seen it, but I cant recommend it enough.

>>Guzmán focuses on the similarities between astronomers researching humanity’s past, in an astronomical sense, and the struggle of many Chilean women who still search, after decades, for the remnants of their relatives executed during the dictatorship.
So good. Great approach, I will watch this before going to sleep.

Is The Look of Silence as good as The Act of Killing?

Is Alex Jones seriously credible?

I'd prefer documentaries that deal in fact, not speculation.

lol

I dont know if Jones is faking it and just pandering to the untapped market that is tinfoil heads and stupid people, or if he is genuinly batshit crazy..

Whatever it may be, it's hilarious to watch whenever he loses it.

Anybody know any documentaries like The Wolf of Wall Street? I'm planning on watching Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room and I'm looking for more Wall St drama.

any docs about American war crimes

Enron is spot on with what you're looking for. I guess Inside Job maybe? They don't really focus on wall street culture though

Facts are merely information that has been rubber stamped by the Jew as fit for public consumption

-Taylor Swift

Watch Client 9 the rise and fall of Elliot Spitzer, Wall Street is a hive of scum

Can't argue with that logic!

Thanks, I'll look into that

...

Does anyone know any other documentaries about artists aside from pic related?

Dear Mr. Watterson

...

yes it is

Just saw Weiner. Great movie. After all his political highs, seeing Anthony Weiner at the end of the documentary literally being chased through his building by a porn star is one of the most hilariously tragic things I've seen. Better than fiction could ever be.

...

>Going Clear Scientology

Glad to see someone else has seen it. Crazy that it hasn't gotten more attention.

Alex Gibney is great and his scientology documentary is pure dynamite that was triple checked by HBO lawyers to avoid lawsuits by the CoS
Basically everything said in the documentary was carefully selected and worded and backed with evidence.

I saw Going Clear thinking I already knew enough about Scientology. Wow was I wrong. What an intriguing movie. The research in Zero Days was equally impressive. Excited to catch up on his earlier movies.

...

I really need to watch Zero Days, is it still rotating on festivals or where can I find it?

This

If you ever saw Weiner and liked watching shit unfold behind the scenes, it works in a similar way.

I can't remember it's name now which is strange because it had such an impact on me, but it was about conditions in central Africa at the time. Not the sob story starving ethiopian children (the famine was only from 1983-85 after all), but about actual societal issues that is preventing development there. It's what made me join the Peace Corps and help out over there for a couple years.

The way that ending unfolded like a plot twist, it was like you were experiencing as the director himself was. Really powerful stuff.

Taxi To the Dark Side will fuck you up. For LIFE.

What's the one with the Chinese guy who's in Africa and he's always saying "It's All So Tiresome"?

Torrent you gay retard

Empire of Dust

it's on Youtube

>documentary about the danger of computer viruses
>"Torrent you gay retard"

Shay shay, famalam

Lol

It's online on some streaming sites.

haha ironicy

Like said, Empire of Dust

That documentary will give you a completely different view of Eddie (the black guy in the webm people always post). You feel like he's the only intelligent black dude in the country, but he's just a radio operator and translator so he can't change shit.
