good topic, would also like to know..

Paranoia
The Conspiracy

repulsion
pi
take shelter
the tenant

The Conspiracy was shit but Paranoia looks promising, cheers m8

Enemy of the State is a classic.

Gene Hackman loves that shit.

>Blow Out
What about Blow Up

>That hotel balcony scene

Fucked me up good

...

Ma nigga, The Conversation is probably my favorite film.

Rosemary's baby?

Sneakers
Arlington Road
Minority Report

The Manchurian Candidate

Does Lives of Others count?

Oliver Stone's JFK

>pi

Seconded.

Eyes Wide Shut

>minority report

What paranoia or conspiracy is there? He has all the facts and most things are out in the open.

I wouldn't say so, its surveillance kino but not really paranoia/conspiracy. They have every right to fear the Stasi and what they do.

>What paranoia or conspiracy is there?

The whole movie is something a paranoid schizo would come up with.

Right, but the movie itself isn't. I'm not asking about the writers mental state.

On deeper consideration I agree. Consider it unrecommended.

If you really want a dick film in here, a scanner darkly would work.

Oh good choice. Yes, that would be a perfect gift for a paranoid, doubly so if they're drug users.

Inherent Vice is probably the best to be quite honest with you.
misleading narratives, multiple narratives, inserted falseflag narratives of history and cultures

Oh to be quite honest with you one more time Basic from McTiernan too.

Burn After Reading

Parallax View, Klute, All the President's Men make up the Paranoia Trilogy

would A Serious Man be considered paranoia?

youtube.com/watch?v=RUsEIdHxBPk

The Conversation has such a great main theme

Three days of the condor
The insider
captain america the winter soldier

>captain america the winter soldier

not that this doesn't have a paranoia factor in it, but it feels a lot less effective when your main character can fight a plane 1 on 1

>Recommending the fucking Winter Soldier
You need to go back to Sup Forumsmblr.

Fucking Christ.

Polanski's whole apartment trilogy is good for paranoia.

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy

Anyone can fight a plane 1v1, they aren't terribly quick on the ground and can't fight back.

Just don't fall off it or walk into the engines senpai.

Videodrome

If you enjoyed Blow Out, I'd recommend the film that inspired it - Antonioni's Blow Up.

Is all the presidents men solid? I've got it queued up from earlier.

red riding trilogy for relatively obscure britbong centric conspiracies

eyes wide shut

Cache

I can't watch movies that are released before 2005, is there any movies that match OP's description as well as released after 2005?

>I can't watch movies that are released before 2005

Anything that's not in top quality 1080p makes me nauseous.

I know there are movies from before 2005 in 1080p but the actual quality of video compared to movies after around 2005 is significantly better, at least in my experience. No matter how good an old movie is I don't want to feel sick watching it.

The Truman Show

I didnt think so.
Love that movie though, the scene with the second rabbi (where he tells the story of the goy's teeth) is straight hilarious.

Scanners
The Princess Bride
Serenity

also +1 for
The Conversation
Pi
Videodrome

This bait is funny

Aliens

i hope you're baiting

either way, kill yourself

Agreed. Plus it has one of the best trailers for a film ever
youtube.com/watch?v=7iggyFPls4w

>I don't agree with it, so it must be bait!

Look I just wanted some recomendations for fuck sake, it's tiring looking through all these suggestions seeing that they are mainly before 2005 so I just wanted to know if anyone know of any recent ones.

No need to be a dick about it.

>people giving a (you) farming baiter the (you)s he wanted

what's wrong with wanting to experience movies in the way they're meant to be expereinced? i.e. not via some shitty 480p MPEG2 transcode conceived in the early 90s?

1984 seems like am obvious one

The International

The Interview
imdb.com/title/tt0120714/
You might have trouble finding a torrent of it though being a low budget Australian film released nearly twenty years ago

...

>trouble
>finding torrents

There is a reason private trackers are worth it.

it's seen a bit of a ressurgence in the past few years because of word of mouth. When I first looked for a torrent years ago there was only some shitty xvid rip on public trackers and none on the private torrent site that I use

Manchurian candidate

The ghost writer

Enemy of the state

Seven Days in May is one of the best, Rod Serling wrote it

Most of those torrents are 4-6 years old.

Mate, I just want to see Margaret. Can you grab 1080 or 720 rip of the extended cut and upload it to mega

I'm dying here, I've been trying to watch it for months now

buy it then?

Alright, thanks for nothing then

Just search for

>rejected-margaret-720p.mkv
>rejected-margaret-1080p.mkv

I'm sure you can get a DDL hit.

>pirating scum
>has the nerve to beg for specific content, in a specific resolution

You'll take what you're given you fucking subhuman scum, and you'll fucking like it.

Enemy of the State.

The character Gene Hackman plays in that film was written to be the same character he played in The Conversation.

But they couldn't secure the rights to the name so they left it out, but he's still supposed to be the same character, just years later.

The Machurian Canidate
All the Presidents' Men
JFK
Minority Report
CA The Winter Soldier

Yes. Watched it several years ago when my history teacher let me borrow that and Patton.

I liked how Redford's office in TWS had the watergate hotel in the shot.

>CA The Winter Soldier
kill yourself you fucking faggot

Not a great movie but Michael Shannon is certainly paranoid in it.

you first you stupid nigger

wew

Frantic (1988)

Blow up (1966) was what inspired Coppola to write The Conversation. I heartily recommend it. It's a bit bizarre at times but everything weird in it has some purpose.

that one based on kevin mitnick starring the guy from jericho

>Blow up (1966)
>score by Herbie Hancock
sold

...

Great taste, man. Take Shelter freaked the shit out of me. Saw it in a cinema alone. So good.
Nice selection. All the President's Men is just brilliant. I so wanted Spotlight to be another ATPM, but it surely wasn't.
The Ghost Writer was overlooked. A great film.

I'd add:

Tinker, Tailor, Solider, Spy
The Spy Who Came in from the Cold
The Lives of Others
Eyes Wide Shut
The Trial (Orson Welles)
Cache (Haneke)
Memories of Murder

>Purely Paranoia films:
Berberian Sound Studio (it's full of paranoia)
Clean, Shaven (I had to turn it off after a while. Too visceral. A testament to how good it is.)
Lost Highway
A Woman Under the Influence
Code Unknown
Possession

>A Woman Under the Influence
I hope you mean everyone else's paranoia about mental illness

Yes. That's why the film is so hard to watch, just like Clean, Shaven.

OP here, great thread.

I've seen most suggestions but will get into All the Presidents Men, Blow Up, The Tenant, A Woman Under the Influence and Cache.

Capricorn One

Enemy 2013

a commieblock?

Oh, forgot one.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978)

Love that film

Is that from On the Silver Globe?

Yes.

I've been meaning to watch it. It looks amazing.

>All he hasn't seen are older films
pleb
