Don't watch the almost scene for scene remake!

did they change the story?

First half not really, second half is more or less an alternative take since they didn't have the balls to do the whole 'endurance' bit. Basically become a revenge thriller...

It sucks the director seems to have retired. I would have watched the Hellraiser remake if he did it.

fucking WHAT

Look at his IMDb page. He hasn't directed anything in years and has nothing coming up. It looks like he's done with filmmaking, which is a shame.

He was rumored to direct the Hellraiser remake, but apparently his ideas were too extreme for the producers.

First half was great, second half was fucking terrible.

New movie from Pascal Laugier

dreadcentral.com/news/156634/pascal-laugier-experiences-incident-ghost-land/

what was the most disturbing part of the movie for you guys?

Mine was by far, finding the girl in the basement, chained up, scarred, hungry, desperate for any form of contact that wasn't abuse and torture. Seeing her scarred body react to the warm bathwater like it was so foreign... FUck this movie messed with me in a deep way, just from the scenes with that girl

For me is when the tortured girl finds out and sees that there's life after death before she dies. I couldn't even breathe in that scene

it's unclear what she saw, or what she is experiencing, that's also what i like about this movie is that ending is up to you

french cinema industry is so fucked up, it's either big shity comedy, or social drama...

it's mostly money coming from the tv and they never risk into exotic stuff, unless some real indepent producer come forward, that's what happened with movie like the artist, or martyrs

The part where the main character puts the basement girl in the bath and starts taking off the metal thing that covered her head and eyes. That made me feel slightly ill, I'll be honest, because just the thought of all that infected, bloody and sticky skin coming off with the metal was disgusting.

This movie made me very, very angry. During the last act most notably, I literally felt like finding the director and beating him to death.
No movie has made me feel this way before, or since.

So I guess it's successful in that sense.
But still.
What a fucking fuck of a human being.

>makes Saw look like Sesame Street

lol, ill pass

What are other movies as brutal as this?

People always recommend High Tension and Inside in reference to Martyrs but both seemed to me just your average horror movie

Yes they are. At least High Tension is.
Inside has maybe a few disturbing scenes though, and is more horrific than your average horror flick.

try ' ils ' it means ' they' in french, watched it with my mom, it's well directed, and the subject is pretty good, the last frame of the movie is also pretty cool like martyrs and make you reflect the whole film

I've seen both of them. I was just too excited for something like Martyrs. Before going into Inside the stealing of the baby scene was too hyped up for me and i expected too much.

Thanks

This is just "my first edgy plus le deep movie"
So just a pretentious version of another edgy mememovies like centipede or servian film, pure garbage, and you belong to Sup Forums

this movie actually is executed with finesse, unlike other shock horrors though

>some french bitch somehow run into a basement where a bitch is being tortured just because then stuff happens and she is skinned and she somehow achieve omniscience
>the end
Such finesse

bullet pointing plot points doesn't make your case

the film exceeds in tension and helplessness

please suggest better movies then, oh smart one.

The movie is good, clean, gory fun; don't take it so seriously. Go get buttfucked.

Why did you burgers liked it so much ?

It's just edgy nihilistic torture porn...

>Why did you burgers liked it so much ?
I didn't know Sup Forums had flags now.

>I tried to stay away from all the violence and keep it off-screen, which was kind of the polar opposite of the original. I know a lot of people love it, but that isn’t what I wanted to do. I think people are probably right when they say it’s “Americanized.” The cultures are different to some extent, but it’s more just my taste. I’m not saying it’s not the right taste, it’s just my taste.
I don't really understand why he remade it at all

They're remaking Inside too.
So ...yeah...
