Hard Ticket to Hawaii is about as good as it gets.

bump

Used to be into this stuff when I was in high school, still like watching them.

>Night of the Comet
>Chopping Mall
>Night of the Creeps

ones I can think of right now, would love to get a discussion about this going on.

Anything and everything from troma in the 70s and 80s. Special mention to Cannon films.

Vanishing point is one of my favorite movies of all time.

>What are your favorites?

Anything by Russ Meyer, Italian barbarian flicks following Conan or post-apocalyptic movies following Mad Max 2.

As I mentioned Italians... every spaghetti western is at it's heart exploitation movie.

I love Chopping Mall

Pic Related is another "classic" from Jim Wynorski

I wish this would have made more money, it really deserved it.

What a perfect B-movie.

>Vanishing point is one of my favorite movies of all time.
The remake with Bassed Viggo is pretty good too.

Galaxina

>that scene in Sgt. Kabukiman N.Y.P.D. where a hooker tries to defend herself from her pimp and Kabukiman just brutally kills them both instead of just handling the pimp for her

She probably just came from a bad home, Kabuki! I'm still not over it.

I watch Best of the Worst, not the actual awful shit they review

Good thread you guys. Little-known pic related is a b-movie smorgasbord. Dick and Charles Band, Irwin Yablans, Robert Glaudini, Cherrie Currie from the Runaways AND Demi Moore's first feature-length role!

I'm going to recommend this guy, he does some pretty good reviews for movies like these, show him some love Sup Forums bros.

Does Salute of the Jugger count, or do I have to admit I secretly like Strike Commando in its endearing hamfistedness?

I love Abel Ferrara

This

I love the premise of this film. The event of Earth finding a motionless alien spacecraft, the standoff that would ensue and discovering there are humans aboard...still fascinates me.

>Sgt. Kabukiman N.Y.P.D.
Because troma just wasn't bonkers enough before.

Miami connection is absolutely worth watching user. the best of the worst barely scratched the surface of how fucking bananas that movie really is.

Also, i dare you to not get "friends for eternity" permanently stuck in your head.

Kolchak a best.

I like what this is up to but he's kind of boring to listen to.

Based she-wolf.
I was really hoping that Grindhouse would kick off a sort of revival but oh well, I guess we at least have the syfy schlock

Just watched Black Dynamite a couple nights ago and it was one the funniest movies I've seen

Love this movie. Still got it on VHS

80s posters were pretty nice

What's this, the cheap version of Mad Max 2?

>troma
This.

I've recently become a big fan of the Pinky Violence genre. Pretty much anything with Meiko Kaji, Reiko Ike, or Miki Sugimoto is worth a watch.

...

Do you think we'll look back at Uwe Boll in a similar fashion?

What about all the SyFy originals?

no and no

They may be remembered as so-bad-they're-good movies but that's not the same thing as a B-movie, even though they overlap. Many B-movies are legitimately good films

I think a lot of directors of low-budget b movies and exploitation films were actually good or had some talent, Uwe Boll is just pure shit on all levels.

Probably not true B-movie, but this

I don't remember that episode of NYPD Blue.

Truly patrician. Thank god for USA's up all night with gilbert gottfried for introducing me to this movie decades ago.

couldn't help thinking of this when I saw those letters

If you liked it you should watch the old exploitation car flicks that it was based on. Vanishing Point, Crazy Larry and Dirty Mary, White Lightning, etc.

I watched Vanishing Point before I did Death Proof, do I look like a fucking pleb? However I didn't find a lot of references beyond the obvious White Challenger.
Also
>Vanishing Point
>exploitation
didn't feel at all like that
just an action oriented road movie
however, speaking about B-kino, this one is highly enjoyable

That movie is awesome, "All you fuckin' cunts like Hide the Salami!"

I rarely see this talked about but it's absolutely great

The camera obscura DVD is really good quality

While I'm at it, this is a really good and nasty exploitation film, released by camera obscura on blu

Its fucking nuts

That movie was the origin of the high test meme, although it got bastardized as it had something to do with testosterone

I need more B movies about cars

Not a B movie although it looks like one today, Bullitt

How about the ultimate roadkino?

Is this the movie that Mad Max II ripped off?

Saw this movie a couple years back. Pretty good. Plenty of nudity.

Had a phase exploring this in old Sup Forums. Someone ran a stream I modded that played grindhouse, obscuro, psychotronic, so got a chance to really explore most of the more canonized/notorious stuff and then some really esoteric shit. Get on Cinemageddon if you want to dig deep.

I prefer aesthetics/atmosphere, like Giallo, Occult Horror, 70s movies about women going insane etc. And I like anything psychedelic, hippie-ish, new age-y, dreamy, nightmarish: Argento, Bava, Jodorowsky, Fulci, Rinse Dream, Footprints on the Moon (Le orme), Through the Looking Glass (the nightmare porn movie), Suspiria, The Psychic, The Beyond, The Evil, Lizard in a Woman's Skin, Tenebre

Never cared for gore or splatter though, or Mondo stuff, revenge, cannibal, zombie, big tits & hot rods / girls & guns, etc. That Tarantino or Eli Roth-core stuff. Nun or Nazisploitation. Blacksploitation sometimes has good music and is pretty funny but generally boring and badly plotted. This is most of the stuff cliched Grindhouse fans would have been into usually, like Thriller - A Cruel Picture, the Ilsa movies, Coffy, I Spit On Your Grave, Faster Pussycat Kill! Kill!, Cannibal Holocaust, Two Thousand Maniacs, Dawn of the Dead, Supervixens, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, etc.

I do like the bizarro, over-the-top 70s and 80s ghost, gothic, mutant, dystopian, alien, alternate universe/reality, meme monster, gimmick, etc horror and sci fi movies though. Future Kill, The Stuff, Class of Nuke 'em High, Kill Klowns, Basketcase, Phantasm

50s and 60s B movies are really fun, whether gothic horror or teen rebel or alien or drug movie. MST3K is actually a good way to go through these.

Bad 80s action is fun.

Don't really care for ultraviolent Japanese stuff usually, but I like their ghost stuff.

And just notoriously, hilariously bad movies like Troll 2, Samurai Cop, Rock n Roll Nightmare, Deadly Prey is good for lols.

watch The Vanishing (original one)

>Someone ran a stream I modded that played grindhouse, obscuro, psychotronic

Sounds like that was a lot of fun.

It was, and I got to explore the remote edges of a lot of already very far-out things (almost Hellraiser/cenobite-style, in a way) but it started to just feel really grimey and gross after a while. He was mostly into the really abject, hateful, dark, ultraviolent, and sick stuff, and it started to wear after a while. But it helped me figure out what I prefer.

...

>Two Thousand Maniacs
>THE SOUTH SHALL RISE AGAIN!
How can you not love that movie?

I"m not saying I didn't enjoy a lot of that stuff, it's just not my favorite. Definitely a zone I don't really want to reside in. Some of the movies of those types I listed I really like though.
