Hard to choose but this is a good one.
...
I was listening to this just earlier today - I still love it but I realised the production job sounds criminally thin.
Yeah, it's kind of a shame. Still amazing
It's not that bad?
It sounds nice and unpolished but still sharp as punk should, but the low end is nearly non existent.

...
Minor Threat - s/t
Green Day - Dookie
...
...
Nice. I prefer Hear Nothing though. Have you listened to their early EPs?

Thank god Martin Hannett got in there and set them straight. Without him, they would have been just another punk band lost to time.
Wait what, this became Joy Division?
Holy shit.
It's actually NMTB but here's my hipster selection.
>Without him, they would have been just another punk band lost to time.
Sounds like a nice line from a documentary but probably not true. Hannett was very responsible for their production and studio sound but it's altogether likely their talent would have won out in some capacity.
It's not like they didn't carry on for decades and write classics long after disposing of the Hannett sound.
Am I being baited?
good shit
Favorite album isFavorite EP is between:
Ceremony - Ruined
Black Flag - Nervous Breakdown
Nails - Unsilent Death
Favorite compilation is Pere Ubu's Datapanik In The Year Zero boxset.
...
Mainly because Hannett showed them how to mix and produce. I agree they were talented, but Hannett gave them that edge that allowed them to blossom. If you read interviews from when Unknown Pleasures was released, the band wasn't happy with the way it sounded. Ultimately though they agreed that Hannett made it unique.

objectively the best answer is pic related

WE'RE NOT LEADERS
good shit
Same here, first time I heard it was live when they were touring with the Barenaked Ladies, I was completely blown away
This but unironic
Best GG album coming through.
Can't lie, that album is good as shit.
Holy crap look at those quads
Wire - Pink Flag
Heh, GG Allin, shit.
...
no brainer
Chairs Missing > 154 > Pink Flag
better band doesn't make a better album
That album was never released cus the band thought the production was shit. So even without Hannet chances are they would have come back with something better.
Well this, obviously.
Hear Nothing is pretty good and no I haven't checked out their eps. This is the only lefty-crust band I can rly stomach

Horse Bites Dog Cries is GOAT

unless its mixed with metal i don't really like punk
any recs are welcome unless its three chord shit
This thread gave me full blown AIDS.
Happy Pride Week.
EPIC XDDDDDDD
One chord is fine. Two chords is pushing it. Three chords and you're into jazz.
Bad Religion - Suffer
Bad Brains - s/t

Y'all niggas have shit taste fo real
Not really into punk but I got this off bandcamp for free last week, and if I wasn't such a poorfag I'd toss them $10 for making a real punk album
And yet, it's still better than yours
...
not it really isn't. this thread is nothing but "i just heard about punk yesterday" tier albums
Came here to post this.
i like the very bad, poor production more than anything else
Don't feed the troll.
Oh, so you'd rather have Fearless Iranians from Hell, would you? That "punk" enough for you, summerfriend?
People tend to have classic albums as their favorite? No shit
Name your favorite punk record that's not a classic revered on RYMFucking great record
It is very rare to see Chumbawamba on Sup Forums
I think that that EP is really weak but their debut album and Anarchy and Boy Bands Have Won are some of my favourite albums of all time
...
119
This logic is total bullshit
Uranium club and Hideous Sun Demon are pretty good.
The logic is there's more to punk than the sex pistols and black flag and anybody not willing to see that has business talking about punk
...
what do you think about trash talk?
...
cant get enough of this
Toss up between Death Church and Bad Music for Bad People. But they're two different subgenres. Or maybe Wire - Pink Flag.
Excellent taste.
>nobody posted this
>i am fucking blind
Thanks for the clarification. Agree completely.
>not New Day Rising

Samhain - November-Coming-Fire
The Stooges - Raw Power (the '97 Iggy mix in particular)
Gudon - Gudon (2004 compilation)

famous monsters is shit and american psycho doesnt hold a candle to static age. contrarian fag.
Surprised this wasn't mentioned already, production still holds pretty well too imo
