Honestly, at 23, my advice is don't look for the obvious jobs. Anything where you have to fill out an online survey/psych exam, for a major chain or service industry etc, is a bad job that will make you hate life. Every job I've had like that I've detested other than my first.
The good jobs are the ones where the interview is a rushed process in a backroom with a manager that's practically overflowing with paperwork and just needs another set of hands to do the work. You'll be appreciated a lot more, paid at a higher rate, and there will be more opportunities for rising up the ladder. All it takes is just going down the street and asking most of the time, rather than going to walmart or mcdonalds or something and being told "no we don't have application forms, go online where you'll just be another nameless faceless number in our system."
