>Wonder Woman
Will make its money back, but still disappoint
>Transformers 5
Won't make as much as the last one, but enough to warrant a sequel (rinse and repeat this for the next two years)
>World War Z
Flop
>Cars 3
Won't break a billion
>Despicable Me 3
Will barely break a billion
>Spider-Man Homecoming
Excellent domestic performance. Lackluster overseas
>Alien Covenant
Disappointment
>War of the Planet of the Apes
Modest Blockbuster
>Pirates of the Carribean 5
Blockbuster
>GOTG 2
Billion+
>The Mummy
Respectable, but not enough to safely launch a franchise

>The Mummy
Wait, we're getting another Mummy? What can they do with it?

>What can they do with it?

Tom Cruise is in it, what else do they need?

I suppose an Inca-ish setting would be nice thinking more. I really dig the ancient central/south american stuff.

>There's a Pirates 5
>When the last Pirates movie was supposed to be a spin off

Just let it fucking go, mate. Have a go at a Splash Mountain movie or some shit instead.

>Wonder Woman
DClel. total bomb
>Transformers 5
decent return but not a big hit
>World War Z 2
more than transformers
>Cars 3
pretty good run
>Despicable Me 3
same as Cars
>SpiderMan Homecoming
bomb
>Alien Covenant
strong at first but drops off fast
>War of the Planet of the Apes
bomb
>Pirates of the Caribbean 5
biggest flop. depp is cancer now
>GOTG 2
makes an absolute shitload of money
>The Mummy
probably 2nd to GOTG

But there are no fun, swashbuckling movies anymore, user.

I don't know but they will all be terrible

>tfw not even remotely interested in any of these

I'm definitely going to see World War Z 2, Alien Convenant, and War of the Planet of the Apes.

I may go see Wonder Woman, SpiderMan Homecoming, and The Mummy.

Fuck the rest.

>Alien Covenant
Maybe I'm just being optimistic, but it might have promise if they don't try to go 2deep with the plot and themes. I'm still a little cautious though.

>Spiderman bombs
I sincerely doubt it.

2nd reboot after the last 3 movies were terrible to mediocre

Uh? You need to bring friends to all of those.

Why? Rami spiderman is still the best and Amazing spiderman had to be dropped and rebooted. I think people are not interested in it anymore

Buuuut it's part of the MCU now. So that means continuity and cameos. Not to mention people fucking love Spidey.

>World War Z 2
Wait... Are they doing a sequel, or they actually remaking it to go by the book this time?

Cuz that book was fucking awesome, and that movie was such a let down.

When I look at this list I can an overwhelming sense of sadness. My life is already terrible. The only thing I really have is shitposting and film and one of those is incredibly unfulfilling and the other's quality is dropping to the point where I can no longer get excited about it and generally force myself to endure it only to be disappointed.

>Wonder Woman
Breaks even
>Transformers 5
Fails horribly domestically but great in China. Will just come under a billion
>World War Z 2
Flop
>Cars 3
Mega bucks
>Despicable Me 3
Mega bucks
>SpiderMan Homecoming
Underperformans for what Marvel wants.
>Alien Covenant
Flop
>War of the Planet of the Apes
Succes. Will make about 800mil
>Pirates of the Caribbean 5
Underperformans
>GOTG 2
Makes more than Spider-Man
>The Mummy
Flop

So only 2 real flops

>DClel. total bomb

They have yet to have a bomb

>Alien Covenant
Only one I would pay to see, and ONLY if they explain away the previous movie by saying the sleep pods were faulty and gave the whole crew near terminal brain damage.

It's a remake of the Frasier Mummy

That would retroactively make Prometheus great.

Why?

That's like remaking Big Trouble in Little China, or Robocop, or Total Recall, or Blade Runner! Why would you ruin cult classic camp perfection by throwing a huge budget at it!? (Oh... Wait...)

Apes, Pirates and Mummy all seem like likely money-losers.

Alien is a maybe, depends on budget. Can see it underperforming

Why remake it though? The Frasier Mummy was good.

Is it wrong that I want to see Despicable Me 3 because Trey Parker is involved

...

You are fucking retarded, I don't care if you're pretending.

I think Z2 is marketable.

I think the direction they're going with Spidey will make it seem less of a retread

Brad Pitt again, so no... It's a sequel.

All of my "why?"

I want to see it remade at least vaguely resembling the book, preferably with the same cast as the audio book.

ie:
Max Brook
Nathan Fillion
Simon Pegg
Denise Crosby
Bruce Boxleitner
Jeri Ryan
Mark Hammill
Rob Reiner

It was short stories from all over the world throughout different stages of the zombie apocalypse (taking place mostly during the aftermath, with interviews looking back on the shit they went through). Nothing at all like that shittastic movie, where they make Brad Pitt pull cape kino for two hours. They just completely ruined an awesome set of short stories, by stealing the title, and nothing else, so no one can ever do it right without buying the rights.

The movie you want would never happen as it would be too expensive to make its money back. Pitt was told the same thing, hence the direction the movie went in development.

It may get a TV adaptation one day if there's still interest.

Also Paul Sorvino, F. Murray Abraham, and Martin Scorcese...

Granted, if any movie tried to pull that cast together, they wouldn't have any money left for zombies.

We'll never see "I Robot" done right either, for much the same reason.

>Wonder Woman
Will be the highest reviewed DCEU movie, but won't break $550 million world wide
>Transformers 5
Breaks a billion because of China bucks
>World War Z 2
bombs hard, no one liked the first one. Maybe $300 million
>Cars 3
Weak for pixar, might hit $500 million
>Despicable Me 3
won't make as much as 2, but still breaks $700 million
>SpiderMan Homecoming
safe marvel shit, guaranteed $800 million
>Alien Covenant
will be well revieced, but probably won't hit $400 million
>War of the Planet of the Apes
probably do almost as well as the last one, $600 million
>Pirates of the Caribbean 5
pure shit, still gets close the a billion
>GOTG 2
Will do a bit better than the first, $800 million
>The Mummy
Will be good, but no one will care, maybe $350 million

The audio book somehow apparently had a bigger budget than the movie, cuz that's the actual cast on it.

>SpiderMan Homecoming
>GOTG 2
Financial success, critical and audience acclaim

>Transformers 5
Financial success, critical failure, audiences will give it slightly above average.

>World War Z 2
>Despicable Me 3
>War of the Planet of the Apes
Slightly above average money, slightly above average critical and audience reception

>The Mummy
Will barely make its money back but will be well-received by critics and audiences

>Wonder Woman
>Alien Covenant
Will barely make its money back, critics will rave about it, average audience scores.

>Pirates of the Caribbean 5
Will barely make its money back, critical and audience failure.

>Cars 3
Flop, critical failure, audience failure

Just to clarify, this is what I think will happen, not what I hope will happen.

Cars 3 won't do well at the box office, but it sure as hell will sell another several hundred mil in merch and that's what matters to Disney

US copyright laws will prevent iRobot from being done right for the next century.

Best you can hope for is a brave indi straight-to-youtube short.

>Apes, Pirates and Mummy all seem like likely money-losers.

Apes isn't. The last two films did well, with the sequel making 230mil more. They were well received by Critics and audiences. It's not going to be huge but it's a safe bet
