So how did the henno saga end? Anything new besides shitposting?
Cameron Diaz
As I was saying last thread, Renault are probably going to pull some stupid shit for their car """launch""" like in 2016. My guess is a 2016 car with a testing livery, a place holder rear wing and wide tires.

amx verstacken has access to a private jet
why in the fuck would he take a pleb class passenger plane?
In their >24 hours till race or w/e the series is the team flies together on regular people flights It sounds like it happened early I him joining RB so he probably wanted to get to know them

Nice quads
I'm surprised one of the teams don't have a private passenger jet for all of their travelling members. There's like 60-80 people that go to the races for each team, so I'm figuring why bother with the airlines. If it were to happen my guess is that it would be Redbull since the company already have a thing for aviation. It would probably also cut down a little bit on freight costs as well as be used for other red bull events the rest of the year o in between races.
Jonathan White
how about even more wings though?
Thomas Reed
Too many wings isn't a good idea, pic related crashed on its second flight.
Nathaniel Flores
I don't think freight matters much >For Formula One teams one of the biggest battles of a race weekend or testing session will be over before a car even turns a wheel: the vast logistical effort required to get all of the team's equipment to the circuit - so vast, in fact, that the sport has its very own Official Logistics Partner, DHL. formula1.com/en/championship/inside-f1/understanding-f1-racing/Logistics.html Could be out dated, but it is probably cheaper to fly the team on pleb planes and the cars on DHL I'm guessing for European races the teams just drive their trucks? Which then the team just flies.
I'm sure you aren't the first to think >we should have our own plane and there is bound to be a reasonable explanation as to why they don't do it. Even if it is just because DHL is contracted to move their shot and they have to do it through them
Gavin Jackson
the number of wings is irrelevant to how well it flies.
actually, the fact that thing was going fast enough to get off the ground in the first place is incredible enough.
Now to further elaborate on this idea, how about for the European races that are reasonably close (Silverstone, Barcelona, Monaco, etc.), the race team could drive a convoy of RedBull Minis to the event for that top quality maximum branding.
I was figuring freight would probably be contracted to DHL, then again there's also sea freight for the fly away racesso it might be that it's only FOM and not the teams, or maybe only a discount, but with their own plane there's no way they'd have a full cargo hold just from luggage so why not stick some of their freight in with it?
Nicholas Hernandez
these things must be horribly unaerodynamic
RB must get Newey to redesign these cars.

>people think McLaren will go back to the Red and White livery style because muh classic era
Did people also forget that the livery was entirely dictated by who their biggest sponsor at the time was, and that sponsor is no longer involved with McLaren, and that displaying the logos of companies from that specific industry is no longer allowed in Formula 1?
btw guys I also think the new Renault livery is going to be a throwback to the classic Benetton Camel livery, they are the same team afterall and it would be a great tip of the hat to us real fans who appreciate the classic era!
That things wings were probably too heavy for it to fly properly. I'm sure adding just two more wings on a modern plane would be possible, but not very useful anyway.
Cameron Hill
No we are expecting the opposite of what it is now. For example Sensodyne livery
Joking aside they will want to distinguish themselves apart from their current livery as a new era of McLaren. So expecting a brighter livery is pretty reasonable 2bh

>Oh How we were wrong!
Well guys, with Bottas all but confirmed at Mercedes and Manor on the verge of collapse we've effectively got our grid for next year.
Who wants to make shit predictions that some British Faggot will collect in a collage and repost later in the year for a brief chuckle at his Autism like we did last year.
I'll start
>Ricciardo WDC >RBull dominate CC >McLaren still fail to win - Alonso Rage Quits >Hulkenberg gets cheeky podium before being given a time penalty >Wehrlein loses all credentials >If post number is a driver, he gets Killed
Carson Bailey
>Hamilton WDC >Bottas does well at Mercedes anyway >Ricky Max tensions >RB and Merc close to equal >Kimi's strong form continues >Ferrari's form doesn't continue >McLaren is ok and will get a podium but not a win >Vandoorne will perform well against Alonso >Stroll makes some rookie mistakes but overall does well >Pirelli fucks something up again
Carson Perez
I reckon Stroll will do everything AMX has done, but everyone will call him out on it. But the Williams is probably gonna be pisspoor so all the daring overtakes will fail
Julian Wilson
He'll crash it once every raceweekend I bet.
Michael Wood
Stroll doesn't have half the talent Max does. You can watch both of their F3 races, Verstappen pulled crazy moves all the time and really did display good racing instinct and car control. He didn't win, but he had great battles with the best in the field and generally came out on top.
Stroll on the other hand won because of considerable machinery advantage, and winning from the front row, in the best team on the grid. Verstappen raced with Van Amesfoort which was pretty unknown prior to him and don't have the resources Prema does. If you drive a Prema in F3 you are pretty much guaranteed to win as long as you are better than your teammates. Stroll didn't even have particularly competitive teammates lol
Most of the time Stroll goes for a crazy move it either doesn't work or there's a crash. At this point I honestly don't rate him higher than a Felipe Nasr or even Jolyon Palmer
Colton Barnes
Lance Stroll will crash in FP2 of the Melbourne Grand Prix.

>Vettel WDC >Mercedes Chokes >Bottas Beats Lewis >Lewis Throws His Toys Out Of The Pram >Ricky Beats Amx >Amx Crashes Into Ricky >Red Bull > Mercedes
Alexander Anderson
Hard to say really. I do think Nasr is quite an underrated driver though. Ericsson just isn't very good. He was in GP2 for four years and got 3 wins out of it. Haryanto got 3 wins as well (although his were all sprint races) and Maldonado and Palmer won GP2 in 4 years. I'll say he is worse than Stroll, at least Stroll has some raw pace. If Wehrlein doesn't conclusively beat Ericsson, his F1 career is finished.
I'll still reserve judgment until Stroll actually drives in F1, but the one thing is clear that he is not a Verstappen 2.0. As much as the toothpastes are annoying, it is hard to deny that Verstappen is not a typical driver and quite exceptional in his racecraft.
William Martinez

>I do think Nasr is quite an underrated driver though I kinda feel the same, but it's hard to tell because you barely see him racing anyone. /f1/ generally seems to think he's equal or worse then Ericsson, including non-swedes.
>but the one thing is clear that he is not a Verstappen 2.0 I didn't mean to imply that; it's more that when AMX fucked up no one really called him out on it. Stroll will be the second driver to leap the same way AMX did, and also he's a pay driver, so I think media and fans are gonna be doubly harsh on him.

we were asked our opinions on four different livery options; one was orange like in 2006 testing, one was the current livery but with more red, one with red and white (but they made it clear it wouldn't be the marlboro design and one with a light grey/silver and red. orange was most popular in the group
we were shown the liveries as movie concept art style, as if the livery designers just sketched it on paper and cleaned up the pencil lines after adding colour

Dominic Nguyen
Yeah. I think everyone was surprised at how well Verstappen dealt with it and IMO he did a lot better than what I was expecting so I guess people could see that the talent was there and he didn't really look out of his element, just immature.
Also yes he is a son of a racing driver but his path to F1 wasn't money, at least not so blatantly. Red Bull chose him and then sponsored him. Stroll on the other hand had his dad buy a share in Williams and is still paying more than Maldonado did for that seat. So he is a straight up paydriver, which is why he will and should be criticized harder. I still don't see why he didn't do a season of GP2. He's barely 18 now and it hardly makes a difference if you're 18 or 19 when you debut. Vandoorne is 25 FFS and Damon Hill made it to F1 at age 34 or something lol.
I think Stroll will have a lot more rookie mistakes and questionable moments overall, but who knows, maybe all that testing really paid off. He is still a paydriver of almost unprecedented levels with actual private sponsorship rather than corporations/countries/banks, which sets him apart from most paydrivers as well.

It might be but then I remembered: when have things ever really gotten better in F1? They'd probably find a track that's even worse.
Prost gave the trophy to the Italian fans as a sample of what's to come when he joins Ferrari next season and Ron's autism erupted when they pulled it apart instantly and he never got it back. McLaren have never allowed a driver to keep his own trophies again.
Carson Moore
Ron keeps all the original drivers trophies, and gets replicas made for the drivers. He considers them property of the team. He's a cunt.
This incident happened at the Italian GP just after it had been announced that Prost had signed for Ferrari for the following season. Prost, eager to please his new tifosi fans, dropped the trophy down to them, which they immediately ripped in to a dozen pieces fighting for it.
Ron, being Ron, sperged out.

>Drivers' Championship points were awarded on a 9–6–4–3–2–1 basis to the first six finishers in each race. Only best 11 results counted toward the championship.[3] Prost scored 105 points during the year, but only 87 points were counted toward the championship. Senna scored 94 points, with 90 points counted toward the championship by virtue of winning more races. Thus, Senna became the World Champion, although he did not score the most points over the course of the year.

Prost is unlikable if your opinion of him is based on the Senna movie.
Yes, Prost is selfish and arguably a bit dirty with his politics but people seem to forget Senna was exactly the same. He just forced a mysticism around his character and was better at speaking English and funnier, which somewhat overshadowed the fact that he was in fact a massive cunt on track and a pretty big cunt off track as well.
Prost was self-confident, not disrespectfully arrogant.
