Carlos Bocanegra?

Of course

Tim Ream?

Of course

Not even as good as Fernando Hierro

David Luiz never played for Barca

Shooped

of course

Coloccini really isn't that great.

JJ Watt?

Of course

correct answer

Rio Ferdinand was unironically better.

How could you not?

The Texans are a better team without Watt

only correct answers

Came here to post this. As for op, how the fuck can he be considered one of the best if he can't even head the ball?

My vote goes to Rio Ferdinand. Lahm second.

We all rate Roberto Carlos, OP

Maybe but he's still probably the best individual defensive player in the NFL

holy fuck a nosebleed

just how tough is this guy??

Maldini, Cafú, Lahm and Ferdinand were better.

I have never seen a soccer player not burst into tears when the slightest bit of blood is drawn

Its okay that that pic scares you my German friend, being a passive cuck is in your nature. See New Years Cologne for a reminder

actually you're the cuck for following American football. Seriously, stick to hockey and lacrosse

Yes I do rate Paolo Maldini thanks for asking.

Of course

>I have never seen a soccer player not burst into tears when the slightest bit of blood is drawn
What the fuck are you talking about stupid leaf? the only times I've seen a footballer cry over (his own) injury were when they know they were fucked for life.

Besides
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_rule

We are a football country too idiot, our league is older than yours

Have you ever seen Terry Butcher?

Barcelona didn't skip a beat when he retired, went on a 6 month undefeated run and won the treble

KEK

Imagine having this shit hair your whole adult life, what the fuck was he thinking

That's just not true.

youtube.com/watch?v=j7gXE6IflNg

john terry is better, the only reason you rate puyol is because he was before your time and you never watched him play in his prime, and just go along with the common narrative

That's not Godin OP

Maldini was a meme after 2005.

God Tier:
Nesta
Maldini

Elite tier:
Staam
Terry
Ferdinand
Vidic
Puyol
Chiellini

Very good tier:
Desailly
Barzagli
Carvalho
Hierro
Cannavaro
Lucio
Marquez
Sergio Ramos

Good tier:
Hyypia
Campbell
Pique
Koscielny
Luisao
Ayala
Burdisso
Cordoba
Walter Samuel
Gallas
Marchena
Boateng
Bonucci

Is he in with a shout?

Has won everything and is the most clutch.

Reminds me of this

>tony adams not in elite tier

Great overall player but strictly speaking much of his contributions came at the offensive end desu

retired the summer i got into football t.b.h (2002)

Sadly he never played for an elite team.

Yes I rate Nesta

>he doesn't rate Lilian Thuram

i excluded him and abidal because they played most of their careers at fullback

Move Samuel and Bonnucci a tier up.

When did Puyol make the switch again?

>no Juan
>no Cannavaro
>no Laurent Blanc

Rly makes u thingk

>no Cannavaro

u blind m8?

...

>giorgio chiellini better than walter samuel

Good grief

Rafa Marquez?

I respect the fact that he was tough as fuck

ok but you put Maldini in... and really that was for the national team he played as a center back at Parma and Juve and sometimes he was moved to right back while at Juventus because they were stacked as fuck in defense and everyone was always being moved around the back four

Cannavaro should be higher, the guy was the ultimate compliment piece to any center-back pairing he was a team player formed awesome partnerships with both Nesta and Thuram while also playing with Barzagli and Materazzi at his peak in 2006

he was good in Real until his final year there where he got exposed due to old age and that high line but really if you all rate Terry than Cannavaro should also be excused from this

he was a manlet that was just as strong as any other defender and could out jump taller people while Vidic had trouble with headers and Torres

Ferdinand made too many shaky mistakes to be elite while Barzagli has always been consistently good

>no Godin
ya done goofed

some other underrated talents are Naldo, Ivan Helguera and Sylvain Distin

>cannavaro not in elite tier
>chiellini not in good tier
>bonucci that high
>english defenders that high

shit list desu

fixed a bit, then got bored
God Tier:
Nesta

Great Tier:
Maldini

Elite tier:
Thuram
Cannavaro
Staam
Vidic
Puyol
Over 33 Barzagli

Very good tier:
Walter Samuel
Pepe
Desailly
Carvalho
Terry
Ferdinand
Hierro
Cannavaro
Lucio
Marquez
Sergio Ramos

Good tier:
Under 33 Barzagli
Hyypia
Campbell
Pique
Koscielny
Luisao
Ayala
Burdisso
Cordoba
Gallas
Marchena
Boateng
Chiellini
Materazzi

Won everything means fuck all. Ive never liked him because hes not a leader and makes stupid decisions.

Pique is better.

>Cannavaro listed twice
is the one in the very good tier, Paolo?

speaking of natives of Naples, that reminds me Ciro Ferrara could have been in that great tier if it wasn't for the injuries and he ended his playing career in 2005 so he qualifies as the cut off date is 1997 so that leaves
Miguel Angel Nadal
Abelardo
Giuseppe Bergomi
Jurgen Kohler
that Juanma guy from Atletico
Christian Worns
Paolo Montero
Valerio Bertotto
Roberto Sensini
Donato
Matthias Sammer
how about Lothar Matthaus when he played sweeper
and Costacurta needs to be there somewhere

I would put Puyol in very good tier

Alderweireld and Howedes should also be in that good tier

what your thoughts on Sol Campbell?

anyone rate Daniel Agger or Jagielka?

Schalke's brave Bordon and Krstajic duo?

Trautman was a german football player who played and won a game with a fucking broken neck

And he was a nazi paratrooper

legend

Suuuuure... He is one prime example of baddies that Barcelona keep because god knows why. Must be some catalunian bullshit.(Valdes is another example)

I'll remember him for hugging Khedira out of the blue after a classico. During the Mourinho time, where both teams consisted of drama queens and were encouraged to shitlord to their fullest, he choose the other straight guy on the field to set an example.

You forgot Alderweireld you stupid fuck!

Why yes I do remember Pique

>Won everything means fuck all.

Cannavaro can not be rated as highly as he is.

He didn't win the Serie A
He didn't win the Champions League

You can't be considered elite until when you never won the championship in a league you spent most of your career in.

Sergio Ramos and Pique are unironically better than him because of this.

When will Milan be good again?

>tf
>tp

>who is Schweinsteiger

Never.

Cannavaro is le 1 good tournament man. It's ridicuolous he's considered in the same tier as the other elite defenders form the last 20 years.

>Maldini

>Puyol reaches his peak at 30
>Spain win euro 08 world cup 2010 and euro 12
>puyol retires in 2013
>almighty Spain have won fuck all since.

Mick Jagger?

Yeah but that 1 tournament was the stuff of legends

All this cannavaro hate is too edgy, the guy was a beast

He's been so overrated by mongoloids like you for so long that now he's underrated

The revoke league wins must have been hard for him. He at least won the league with Real though, user

Zidane? Of course.

LÜL

Considering purely his defensive skills he's quite shitty desu

>click (embed)
>see foot turn 90* in the wrong direction

Nope

Ferdinand needs to come down a tier, Gallas needs to be nowhere near the list at all, Ramos needs to move up a tie, and prime Terry is God Tier
