What?
Is this some canadian thing?
Never know when you're gonna need a good old disc on a string. Saved my life back in '82.
In Brazil some people use this shit in earrings, purses, key rings to divert the "bad looks".
I thought this was a typically Turkish object
I bought these in Turkey. They are for keeping evil spirits out. Also got a dream catcher made by Indians
Fuck off whitey
i can confirm of seen objects of this type laying around in various homes
Why were you in turkey user?
>two thousand and seventeen
>expecting swedes to be white
I found that thing in my car no idea how it got there
Here in Brazil this is just one of those amulets that claim to bring luck and ward off the envy of people over you. They usually sell this kind of thing at hippie fairs.
To ward off the evil eye
I guess it was brought to Brazil by Lebanese/Syrians?
A talisman, with positive usually protective attributes attached to it, such as defending against curses resulting from other's envious looks.
>tfw black liberals always talk about cultural appropriation
>always forget about Turkish evil eye
Too many double standards
I was going to Bulgaria last year to fish, when I discovered a plane ticket + hotel in Turkey costs the same as a plane ticket to Bulgaria
I have a dream catcher. My mom's bleach blonde vapid skank of a friend was dating an Indian fellow who made it for her and she passed it off to me when I was ~10 years old. Now she lives in Australia and I still have the dream catcher.
Someone lost it, didn't care about keeping it or tried to be nice.
Huh
Isnt bulgaria an overall better place though?
Probably.
Then why choose turkey?
I mean, the total cost couldnt have been that much different
There's a reason why Bulgaria isn't popular among tourists
No. I've been to Turkey 10+ times. Nice place for a vacation.
Turkey has a better coast. The Black Sea is almost a lake.
It didn't really matter to me. I went to get some sun on my icing white skin.
Only medditerannian and near Eastern cultures.
In Southeast Asia they carry a penis charm.
In Japan we use this
No, we suck.
Isn't it an ancient Turkish symbol of wisdom and good luck?
I have got this symbol as a fridge magnet, it was a gift from a Turkish flatmate.
Yes, it's Turkish, a ward against the evil eye.
Good to know
What is that some kind of air freshener or something?
Most likely, we have these here to ward off people's envy and evil intents
People usually get them when buying new things like expensive cars or homes etc
...
+10 kebab
Explain.
My Persian gf gave me this as a gift
Parents brought one back from brief visit in Turkey. The evil eye is supposed to ward off evil spirits. I really like how it looks and how widespread it is, personally.
>Turkish/Central Asian symbol of good luck and warding against evil is a bright blue eye
what?
really makes u think doesnnit?
It's an eye looking into eternal blue sky, granting you the power to ward off evil.
Golden version also exist. Blue is most favorite though.
>The Tengrist
you Turks never fail to crack me up
I wonder if it would look good incorporated into a flag in some way?
I don't recall ever seeing one of these before.
This is the better version IMO
I guess it's spreading. I saw one in a Portuguese restaurant, and there were no Turkish people working there, just a souvenir. Sucks, because you could previously use it to subtly find out where Turkish people were.
