I had a quiet day for the first 4 hours. Then suddenly everything happened until an hour ago. Waiting for my friends to get off work so we can have our weekly beers and catch up.
That's usually how work goes if it's slow at first. Everyone comes all at once.
Yeh, a friend was supposed to call me today but he got stuck with his father a few hours out of the city. His dad's company car crapped out on them so they had to wait for a tow truck.

Yeah, first month. And the busy period was actually busy, unlike the last 2 days, where our busy period was 3 burgers over an hour. It sucks when people make plans and shit prevents them, but sometimes you just cant help the crazy things that happen.

Thats how I feel. Today was worse because my boss, the only other cook on, had a migraine of biblical strength and couldnt come in. And over the same time period as those 3 burgers I did 10 burgers, 3 fish and chips, 10 different salads, 7 bowls of chips and a single pad thai. Theres always one fucking pad thai and they cause slowdowns. I giess the timing for that is good, though what you night owls are doing at 1:30 am is beyond me.

Thats a bit of a trip. And yes, we dont precook anything unless its our chicken burgers, and we try to do them daily. Given the last few days, I thought it was a good idea to do them to order. It was a bad idea. We need another fryer in that kitchen, get rid of the char grill we use to store bowls and trays on.
