An actual Marilyn Manson Joker would have been amazing.
Back in the early 90s Manson had this psychotic Willy Wonka/pedophile clown persona going on that would have been right in line with the edgier depictions of the Joker and with the DDLG overtones of his relationship with that new Harley.
not to mention that creepy clowns are typical of 90s alt-metal which fits perfectly with the aesthetic of the movie.
call me bitch, call me faggot call me whitey, but I'm something you can never be.

Reddit can't appreciate Manson

JUST A BOY JUST A BOY JUST A LITTLE FUCKING BOY I CAN NEVER BE A MAN

I WANNA GROW UP
Bentley Jackson
I remember when people were unironically calling for Manson to be cast as Joker before Ledger was announced. I'm not 100% opposed for a POAAF style Joker, but Manson himself is a terrible, terrible actor.
For reference, see Asia Argento's "The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things," wherein Manson accidentally has sex with Zack and Cody and I'm not even kidding that happens in the movie.
Levi Howard
I WANNA BEEEE
Thomas Butler
AT LEAST HE LOOKS THAT WAY
Robert Cooper
>tranny goth Joker
No thanks, that sounds fucking horrible.
Ayden Gray
BUT THEN DON'T WE ALL?
Caleb Cook
Also, they are in lingerie when it happens because Argento is 4edgy6you
Luke Gutierrez
Was the rumour true, that they wanted him for Willy Wonka but got Depp instead? That would've been rad
Easton Lee
WHAT I MAKE IS WHAT I AM
Tyler Brooks
>Willy Wonka/pedophile clown persona that could be awesome for the Mad hatter or maybe the ToyMan
Cameron Roberts
>shitty Trent Reznor without the musical talent or Oscar
>in any form of media
Jordan Smith
BUT WE ALL KNOW THE HAT IS WEARING ME-EE
Hunter Brown
>Not casting Maynard James Keenan
Julian Parker
Pretty sure he reached out to the studio execs because he's always been intrigued by the character but Burton had to cast his bottom Depp in every movie he makes. Too bad MM would have been an interesting lead instead of that flaky faggot Depp portrayed.
Cameron Hughes
And here's the Trentfag as always.
What Trent added to Manson was a bunch of weird industrial effects that, when combined with his vocals, Gacy's riffs and Floria Sigismondi's videos, created ACSS. Which only accounts for a fourth of his success.
Listen to POAAF's demos: Trent barely added anything, he just cleaned up the sound and added one or two samples. ACSS's demo is also very solid.
Dylan Wright
Hey Marilyn, how's the shock rock career going?
Asher Diaz
no more shock rock, we blues goth now
Owen Kelly
>One passable album
>the only one Trent worked on
The Downward Spiral is one of the greatest albums of all time and will be remembered as one of the most important albums of the 1990s.
MM will only be remembered for bowling for columbine
Bentley Campbell
I dunno if Trent faired any better both of them have pretty mediocre output now.
Cooper Perry
Got to adapt to the times, good call.
Chase Ward
Year Zero was a great album and his Live shows are still top-notch
Oliver Lopez
Pretty fantastic album. Fuck me like an animal got so many people laid during its time wish I had been one of them ;___;
Isaiah Moore
Anti-christ Superstar came out during my angsty teen years and was my seminal album then.
Listening to it now I should have just guzzled bleach for ever thinking it was good.
Josiah Kelly
TDS has more intricate musicianship but it's simply less ambitious, less rightfully memorable, less grandiose and less freaky than ACSS. It's just a personal account of Trent's depressive tendencies and failure to deal with fame. ACSS is that, plus a multi-faceted statement on the cult of celebrity, and an attempt to take all of glam rock down with him.
Trent is a rocker who makes cool music with interesting industrial fuckery, Manson was the rock star to end all rock stars.
Joshua Sanders
Year Zero is a literal snoozefest with no balls. It's got funny bloopy sounds but every single riff is weak.
Leo Gonzalez
Do people seriously still listen to this shit? I listened to Manson and NIN back in the 90s/early 00's but now days it's so cringeworthy I can't take that shit seriously.
Aiden Robinson
ACSS is an album you need to get into in your early 20s to get it. Otherwise you're gonna just think it's super-brootal and you'll look back on it with disappointment after experiencing more brutal music because you didn't realize that it was more than just angsty brootal music for teens.
Justin Gray
>personal account of Trent's depressive tendencies no actually, Its a concept album about a protagonist and the personifications of his demons in the form of the Ruiner and the Eraser. It covers his need to sex, and power , and how once he has those things he goes into a downward spiral.
>ACSS is that, plus a multi-faceted statement on the cult of celebrity, and an attempt to take all of glam rock down with him. are you 14?
see Also you should ban "take X seriously" from your vocabulary because it's way too vague to properly convey your feelings and makes you sound like a self-important dick.
Leo Garcia
Breddi gud observation.
Lincoln Edwards
aside from Hurt and I do not want this, the lyrics on The Downward Spiral aren't as cringy as you'd think if you realize the songs are not Trent speaking about himself but a character
Isaiah Ramirez
>Are you 14 No, 14 year old me hated Marilyn Manson because "it's just tryhard angsty shit".
Jeremiah Myers
Like you wouldn't if the twins came at you dressed like that What are you some kind of fag?
Luke Long
it's pretty obvious but even then it's way too incoherent to get who's talking to whom.
Hunter Lewis
ACSS>portrait>the rest
Dylan Hill
the reflecting god
Ian Allen
Pretty amazing climax for the album but I still prefer 1996 cause it's fucking insanely frantic; I'd listen to a whole album of songs like 1996.
Easton Scott
1996 is dope. One of my favourites from the album.
Asher Hughes
Bluesgoth has been a thing since Murder Ballads.
Luke Murphy
he's just being himself
Samuel Reed
yes
31, i grew up with it. still listen to it, because it's still good. portrait and acss at least, nothing beyond that.
Carson Butler
Almost all his albums have at least one good song on them. Holy Wood has this big conspiratorial JFK theme behind it too which is intriguing.
Isaac Smith
Definintely true. Mechanical Animals is bretty good too.
Austin James
Manson succeeded in running the whole rock star phenomenon into the ground in a really dramatic way, but when I see what we now have in place of rock stars I wish he hadn't.
Connor Jackson
he really was the last real rock star. wish we had realized it at the time.
Aaron Ramirez
What do you listen to now? Literally everything music wise for over a decade has been tripe
Landon Cruz
If only Layne Staley had survived....
Samuel Myers
>literally everything bitch do you only listen to mainstream shit or something? Almost every genre of music that has ever existed still has decent albums coming out every year
Jacob Taylor
Haha haha no.
Kill yourself, my dude.
Jose Ortiz
>tfw had major boner for MM as a kid send some boipussy my way
Michael Williams
So you'd rather listen to shitty 90's numetal because modern music is so much worse then that?
Mason Williams
deep six, devil beneath my feet are my 2 favorites from pale emperor
Matthew Martinez
Surprisingly good. That glam look turned me off of the album but the music brought me back on board and its still pretty solid even for today.
Dominic Martin
A young Manson could have worked. No way he could pull it off now.
This would have been cringe as fuck
Tyler Taylor
Marilyn Manson makes industrial glam rock.
Wyatt Anderson
nah David Bowie as the Joker would have been better
Jeremiah Gray
There's more to the Joker than his facial features. Marilyn Manson pretending to be David Bowie would have been better.
You are wrong to not think that Bowie wouldn't have done a 10/10 performance
Henry Lopez
>I don't know shit about music
Christian Phillips
...
William Allen
Probably the greatest Joker performance (even better than Ledger) that we will never get to see
Asher Rogers
>I'm 19 and my taste is fucking superior
Kevin Sanchez
>used to be a good artist who deliberately trolled the mainstream and christians to sell records, lyrics had some clever wordplay and social satire >now is a drunken mess who slurs every song, all his lyrics are now basically "i'll hurt you, because i love you"
there's still some good songs in his albums but really manson is only as good as the people working with him at any given time
Wyatt Fisher
>David Bowie was considered to play the Joker in Tim Burton's 1989 Batman film. Thought the role went to Jack Nicholson. I want to end myself
>Reznor Collaborators Minstry Pigface Tori Amos David Bowie David Lynch Oliver Stone David Fincher El-P Aphex Twin Coil Dave Grohl Dr. Dre Saul Williams
>Marilyn Manson Jack Off Jill DMX Linkin Park Gucci Mane Avril Lavigne Lady Gaga Twiggy
No love for Smells Like Children? Honestly his best album, faam
Jayden Kelly
Fucking bustas up in this bitch, This is Halloween is his best work. and Coma White. Fight me about it.
Blake Nelson
>Sup Forums likes Marylin Manson
You guys are really securing your place on the single worst board on Sup Forums. A Manson thread on Sup Forums wouldn't last 5 minutes.
Henry Smith
reddit is everyone who hated shit like Marilyn Manson back in the day, which is why whenever someone says "what wuz yer fave music back in teh 90s? XD" it's always Weezer or Gin Blossoms or all the other post-grunge trash that the preppy kids listened to, thinking it was "alternetive bruh"
>"BARENAKED LADIES BRUH XD"
>"FUCKIN' LIVE BRUH XD"
>"FUCKIN BLUES TRAVELER BRUH XD"
>"DUDE THE FRIENDS THEME LOL"
Oliver Stewart
Because Sup Forums is the most pretentious embarrassing board on the internet. Early Manson is God-tier you little homo.
Henry Fisher
manson is entry level industrial rock
Wyatt Moore
>listen to MM starting with POAAF
>already knew I was an insufferable poser
>Smells Like Children comes out
>"Sweet Dreams"
>realize my poserhood was nowhere near as bad as the "Sweet Dreams" faggots
>suddenly shows are deluged with frat boys and other normies of the time, who were only there to see if Manson would remove his ribs and suck his own dick
>cut to today
>manson looks a a 6 ft tall bag of moldy shit, not the wiry demon of old
i didnt even think dudes with his body type could get fat like that.
Blake Williams
His career should've ended with The Golden Age of Grotesque.
Julian Russell
he even had his own Harley ready
Jeremiah Powell
Seriously he looks worse every time I see him. He's been performing like shit with Slipknot which isn't a surprise because he's been garbage live for the last ten years.
Luis Brooks
>nothing beyond that. It ended with GAoG
Each album he was doing represented a decade. It was something that everyone missed but the visuals were always there to support it.
Aaron Parker
One of few who actually put on really good live shows. Not just performing their songs in front of a banner.
Ayden Miller
>read Jenna Jamesons autobiography a long time ago >she talks about how Marilyn Manson had a huge dick and was obsessed with anal
For some reason all I can think of when I see him is that he has a huge dick, even by pornstar standards
Julian Young
Yet they praise Kanye West and fucking k-pop.
Ian Stewart
LE WRONG GENERATION
Jonathan James
k-pop is a containment thread and kanye west is one of the most influential artists in music today
2004-2010 Kanye was objectively great. Then he started focusing more on his public image and clothing lines than the quality of his music.
Jack Flores
Actually most of Manson's stuff is well received on Sup Forums. There have been several threads reaching the bump limit. I only visit Sup Forums once ever couple of weeks and I almost always see 1 Manson thread up.
Tyler Miller
>obsessed with anal Still is. He pee'd in Rose's butt once.
