My impression of Reddit is that they are a cult of SJWs who circlejerk things into tastelessness. For example, I enjoy learning about the Universe and a good pun here and there, but whenever I read comments on literally any Reddit post, they beat off to how amazing and large the Universe is (and all the nihilistic degeneracy associated with that. We mean nothing, so actions are meaningless when considering the scale of all things) or go off-topic making puns that tasteless beyond belief. Just the other day, I commented on a post about Media control (a few companies control the majority of news outlets), asking them to connect the dots and go the extra mile. I was called out as a white supremacist (even though I am Iranian and they had no knowledge of this) and automatically had my argument discarded because of the self-imposed label of white supremacist. They began to vehemently disagree (emphasis on disagreement from an emotional standpoint; I find myself sympathizing with Molyneux on the lack of arguments) with me, calling me things that would usually be attributed to themselves (for example, they called my worldview fragile. I come from a Muslim background, but it was not comforting to learn about the barbaric nature inherent to Islam. Even though my personal bias ran contrary to the evidence, I accepted it and denounced Islamic rule in Iran and started wishing we'd go back to the Ancient times).
What is it about Reddit that makes them the perfect example of demoralization Yuri was talking about? Is it because of their userbase? Is that not frightening to know that that many people are so opposed to things that they have been conditioned to oppose, and that pointing this out will result in being ostracized?

>wall of text

>look at image
>look at flag
>decide not to read

Sorry, just refer to the last two sentences then.

The Reddit userbase is full of angsty teenagers and aspies who are socially inept. Taking anything on that site seriously is just stupid.

My impression of you is that you're retard if you think anyone here would read that...

So it's exactly the same as Sup Forums?

I think it's just a perfect storm generated from the design of the website. The forum-like post system with upvoting (and related features) lends itself to hugboxes and circle jerks.

Reddit is fucking huge, it's got something for everyone and apparently the gender spread is pretty close to 50/50

There is no typical Reddit user it's one of the most popular websites on the internet

You'd have to have read a little bit to know if I was retarded or not, and you're here somehow. How's the Internet over there, by the way?

I just wanted to have a conversation about why the majority of Reddit users act like this (projection, cult mentality, moral exhibitionists, etc.).

nice flag

Nice flag and dubs

The socially inept part yes. I'd like to think you guys aren't all underage Reddit refugees, but who knows.

...

Reddit is just full of spergs who basically harp on a single issue. Be it Gamergate, SRS, Sandersfags, or Futurology retards. They probably have more diverse opinions than Sup Forums but it gets drowned out by their mods and upboat system.

My impression of Sup Forums (Sup Forums only, I don't frequent other boards except for /po/, but that's just an odd click here and there) is that although there are circlejerk threads for Trump or other ideas/people, Sup Forums is not one person. There aren't that many kikes on Earth to flood political compass threads and all land in the green. People have different ideas and if you express something, they will either tell you why it is wrong, or prove themselves wrong in the process. Kind of like that law about how if you wish to know a truth, post the misinterpretation online and somebody will correct you.

Most are young and stupid, lack of life experience is why so many of them are swayed by the herd, add stupid and presto! Reddit!

>hates redditors
>wall of text
checks out you canadians are getting more creative by the day

I think it's the other way around considering the fact that Sup Forums predates Reddit.

100% spot on.

All these fucks in this thread are Reddit scum and you hurt their little feelings.

It takes longer to post "I'm not reading all that" than it takes to read it.

I'll work on my format later, this much is clear. As much as I'd make the case against myself by pointing this out, I legitimately wanted to ask a simple question and get a response, not trolling.

subreddits discourage the idea of actual discussion by means of different viewpoints and instead encourage people to downvote statements they disagree with en masse

Reddit is not one single person, you retard. See this is what you get when you just blindly take everything you see on your circlejerk board as fact. The truth is that, if Sup Forums had downvotes, this board would be demonstrably more of a circlejerk than Reddit ever was.

Reddit seems to be basically the same, aside from the circlejerkers having the power to bury unpopular posts with their up/down voting system. If that existed on here, do you really see it being any different?

Shit Dude! I never Trolled ya!

reddit is the best for memes

2/10 bait Mohammed.

If Sup Forums has existed for this long and hasn't implemented voting mechanisms, then I doubt it will do that anytime soon. Your argument is based around a hypothetical that cannot be proven. You might be right, but it is not the case.
I saw an ad for Cuck Carl and AIDS skrillex shirts on Reddit. Make of that what you will, these 30 year old hipsters will do anything to stay relevant.

welcome to Sup Forums friend, you need to reduce your message length to fit in, also there's no upboat buttons xddd

The Reddit admin are hardcore cucks and heavily favor subreddits that act as similar circlejerks. They tend to get into and crush most communities from the inside the way all SJWs do. There are places where you can see dissint though. The_Donald is playing war games with the admins at this point. Pretty much any whatever_in_action subreddit is, if not redpilled, at least resistant to SJW bullshit. It's hard, but there are differing opinions if you go looking.

see:

least theyre funny unlike the mongs on this board

The Jewish control of media got me interested, but I had to go to a conspiracy subreddit to find people admitting that the truth is irrefutable: Jewish people hold massive influence because they represent the majority of news outlets when they are a minority in the population of the USA. With this power, they are free to push whatever narrative they want for the people to become slaves.

If you don't like browsing this board then why are you here, Mohammed? Leave.

I am not into reddit and don't know it or its users very well, but what you talk about reminds me a little bit of people here, who have progressive or let's say lefty views (although i hate left wing - right wing division). When a problem (in matter of discussion) appears, they don't focus on the problem and possible solutions itself. Instead they try to connect it with some other issue and judge it based on this connection. Not that conservatives or righties don't do that. It's just that one of the main points spoken out by lefties is that everyone and everything is equal, but few seconds later they base all of their judgements and answers with the very same labels they despise so much. It's not even hypocrisy, it's some kind of huge cognitive dissonance and I am surprised that so many of intelligent people I know fall for that. Face to face we can argue with facts and come together to some understanding or agreement, but in open discussion with more people taking part in it, it just comes to showing how you're superior to your opponent and licking each others butts amongs those who agree.

Reddit
>Young college educated Liberal adults
>Seeking a safe space to circlejerk
Sup Forums
>Young some-what college educated politically diverse adults
>Seeking a combative space to circlejerk

I think that they dug themselves into the hole by adopting beliefs that do not run parallel with human nature (rather the people who browse Reddit's nature). They want a socialist utopia of peace and "Kum-Bah-Yah, dude", but are willing to do things and believe things that run contrary to their ideal society. I do think that they are objectively wrong: globalism and socialist beliefs for a social-justice paradise will result in millions dead; nationalism and pride in one's race/heritage is the answer.

The Internet makes it trivially easy to surround yourself with people who tell you you're right all the time. That's true with anything from SJWS to furfags to the people on this board who need some air once in a while. The best cure is always primary sources and research applied whenever possible. Sup Forums tends to be quite better at this than the cultists preaching SJW universalism, but they don't have a monopoly, which is why I'll check a few leddit boards for good stuff too.

Perhaps OP should have just written 'reddit BTFO! It's happening!' if he wanted to convey information to men of your ilk.

Spend a minute or so reading, or fuck off to Sup Forums.

It's only natural that a forum with fixed identities, acquirable reputation and direct moderator involvement will lead to a wretched place like reddit. It's an imitation of real life socalizing after all.

The userbase there is a mirror of the users' real-life public opinions, which means it will follow, approve of and promote real-life trends and opinions. Especially popular ones, for the better or the worse. I say public, because everyone can see what you write and that you wrote it. Users will be even more inclined to write agreeable comments, especially since comments can be hidden if they amass too many negative points for being unapproved by others.
Also, it's the Internet so dumb shit gets magnified.

This.

Sup Forums is for those who CBA to read books as posts

>gender
>50/50
This is problematic

Reddit censors anything that doesn't toe the liberal line

I think they even have bots that do this for them, if you make some conservative remark that really gets their goat like 'black people commit crimes at far higher rates than any other race' it will get downvoted to censorship, but the weird thing is if you look at the number of downvotes the comment gets, it will continue to increase well after everyone has stopped looking at that thread.

You usually get shadow banned for anything like that anyways, so somehow your comment that is not visible, is still getting downvotes.

reddit is a disgusting website.

Holy flag

The only people here who will likely disagree with your (accurate) assessment of Reddit, are the dedicated shills and mental patients who came here from Reddit to jihad against shitlords. By the way, Hitler recognized that Persians were Aryans too, and admired their cultural achievements. Maybe you should become a Nazi, just to prempt any distress you might feel at the inevitable "fucking stormfag" that you will occasionally be labeled here too, because NOW WE'RE JUST LIKE FUCKING REDDIT WITH THE AMOUNT OF WHINY SPECIAL SNOWFLAKES WHO CAN"T STAND TO BE TRIGGERED BY CERTAIN SUBJECTS.
