Good evining Sup Forums

Good evining Sup Forums.
Some of you may remember this project from last year but i never finished it and just slung it in a corner to gather dust.
Well i smashed the room up and the junker ive been reling on until now was collateral damage so i was faced with a choice of patching the junker back up or making the most expensive headach ive ever bought work.
I bravely made the stupid choice and fired up my jcb to dig this project out of the junk heap.
We had her posting last time but imediatly shuting down.
This time she keeps running. Or the fans do atleast. But hasnt posted yet.

The AiO cooler, looks like a corsair H100 (like mine) but it's off, sure that's plugged in and running?
CPU could be shutting down cos it's got no cooling

...

Yea, the fans are spinning.

Not the fans, the cooler itself. It's liquid and it should be flowing around. You know if it's on when the Corsair LED lights up

I can't remember off hand but I think that needs to be plugged into a USB header

I do have spare cables

Its pluged in just below the gpu?

Which is the usb header

Usb 1314, usb1112 or usb91(o with a line through it)?

I think there's one on the top of the motherboard. DL the manual, that'll give you more info than I could

The USB that came with the cooler will look like a mini USB (that's plugs into the cpu block) to USB header connector. That end goes onto your mobo

Dont sell out on me user, i need you buddy.

That looks like one end of it. Does it looks like the other end goes into one of those USB headers?

Ive tried the other end into all 3 slots now and it still hadsnt posted.
It did post before though and i doubt i moved it since so im gonna put it back in the one it was in originally

different user here - turn off power, remove and re-seat memory

Also lets get a shot of the memory sticks and sockets

Try removing GPU and plugging in display cables to mobo, see if it posts

I can't tell what Gpu that is, is it powered? Hard to tell if there's any power cables for it

Otherwise you could have burned out the cpu if you didn't have the cooler active when it posted first time around

...

lets see the MB memory slots

2

Can't user it's linked to a tv so i need the hdmi

Ive also got this which is powered but its never run before so im sticking with the tried and tested one for now.
Inb4 carpets are lava

are you using just one memory stick?

Yea. I got more but you're supposed to do this shit with the minimal amount of variables.

Wait what? I'm confused

Is/was the Gpu plugged into the tv or the mobo?

If it's Gpu, just unplug it

If the MB is set to dual memory channel you might have issues. Try putting the memory in the other slot.

Now I'm confused....

I need the hdmi port user.

Wich memory slot to use always confuses me because of the abab combined bs.
Which slot should i use. Ive got 4 slots.

use the one closest to the cpu

Done.
Also giving the other gpu a wirl but still no post.

turn off power and remove the coin battery. Some boards have a jumper to short out the NVM capacitor. otherwise wait like 10 minutes and put the battery back in, then see if you post

Other gpu fan isnt spinning. Back to the tried and tested.
Its attempts to spin about a 1/4 of a turn then stops.

do the other fans do the same? spin for a bit then stop?

The power one stops but the rad keeps going. Old gpu also stops in slot 1.
Going back to slot 2.

Consult Sup Forums you twat.

I will if i need a new password manager.
Im trying to build a pc you twat.

Gpu fan is full blast in slot 2.

take the mobo out of the case dust out the psu and then take all ram out except for one stick and make sure that there is only one harddrive connect flush your bios and make sure that the ram is set right and then start with just the os hard drive connected then after you get post check the bios for voltage fluctuations.

The fact that you're recommending things that we've already discussed in this thread is a little concerning but i do have to agree. Think im gonna have to strip it and start the build from scratch.

Is that this ram?

newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233640&cm_re=corsair_vengeance-_-20-233-640-_-Product

DDR3 3000? If so, motherboard only supports up to DDR3 2133

assuming this motherboard: asus.com/us/Motherboards/970-PRO-GAMING-AURA/specifications/

I missed your post.
Doing it now.

Plesse could you repeat that in english?

>newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233640&cm_re=corsair_vengeance-_-20-233-640-_-Product
Looks like this look has other DDR3 1600 variants. Need to know what RAM\CPU you have in there.

Try reseting the cmos

Take a clear picture of the sticker on the other side of the RAM so I can see what model you have

wrong pic

Ive tripped the rtc.
I'm starting to get drunk and carless now though. I just lent my hand on the gpu whilst it was running im supprised i didnt get a jolt that made my teeth wiggle. Lucky me ay?

...

>2400 mhz ram
>motherboard supports up to 2133mhz

I'm saying its the RAM

Ive got a spare mobo and im not actually sure which is better.
The one fitted is the newest and has the most LED's lol.

One person saying they are able to get 2400 mhz ram to run on the board. Doesn't mean there still isn't some kind of incompatibility. Have some 1600\1866mhz ram lying around?

I am going to have to agree with this user.

?

Thats DDR2, need DDR3.

WinRAR

Still no post.

how long do you wait? Does it have the beeper on it if so does it beep?

Shit.

Still could be anything. Can you connect a speaker to see if you get beeps?

The beeper is on but no beep.
Probably need to check it's on the correct pins but like I've already said ive had this thing posting before (i think it beeped then) so it must be wired up atleast sort of right?

I am down to bad mb.

Any LEDs blinking here?

Well i figured out why the speaker isnt working atleast.

yep that'll do it

Looks like one of those junk computers people build themselves, when will cpufags learn the only way to get a quality desktop is through defined mass manufacturing processes where you purchase a fine tuned product from a retail location that knows what it's doing.

Keep my thread bumped please Sup Forumsros i'm just going to grab a solder iron.

Is the cooler on the cpu properly?

Not sure...
Its wobbly and tight at the same time. I know that dosent make sence but if i grab hold of the cooler i cant wobble it....

bump

Oh you are an apple owner are you?
Good call user

Dosent matter wich way round the wires go does it?

can you get a clearer pic?

It does, one is + and one is ground

same user - it really doesnt matter - if it doesnt work, just turn the connector around on the mb

Apple is easily the pinnacle of computing excellence, it's why apple's share value is nearly 2x that of microsoft.

Ground is the 3rd wire you retard. All we need is a loop circuit here.

Anyway did i do it right?

>pinnacle of computing excellence

looks good, try it

hard to tell but if it doesnt pull off with a gentle tug you are good to go

Sorru i dont jave microsoft windows so no spelchek

Just noticed a little + on the other side. I did it wrong lol... Nm.
Still no beeps....

see
any blinking LEDs there?

I'll buy it off you

Sorry got distracted.
Nope no leds up there.

Watch them as you power on, do they turn on at all?

It 'could' be... however as a professional system builder that has worked with that mobo before, it runs higher speed ram, just limits it.

OP this is a good basic checklist if you haven't done these steps already.
tomshardware.com/forum/261145-31-perform-steps-posting-post-boot-video-problems

By this point I'd happily trade you it for a porn mag.
Anouther 30 min and you could probaly get it for an unvrincled page 3 with no bean juice on?

Nothing. Just the fag gaming logo at the bottom doing its gay pride parade.

Can't see it in any photos. Is the 8 pin power connected?

I went through that exact list in 2016 right before the last time i gave up on this peice of shit.
Suppose it's worth doing again though.

WHY THE FUCK DO BLUETOOTH SPEAKERS KEEP ANOUNCING THEY HAVE LOW BATTERY SO OFFTEN?
STFU ABOUT IT AND STOP WAISTING BATTERY TELLING ME!

Wat state / country?

North Korea. And my name is Kim.
Who the fuck are you?

is the 8 pin power connector connected?

see for location

If you can't trust strangers on the internet, how will your computer components ever trust you?

I think you may be right but i have severe anger issues and have probably fucked it up for good.

Ive fucking got thr rad fan wedged behind the mobo.
What do?

Pop the case out, slide fan out against case.

Remove the radiator from the case so you can get the fan out? If not, take out all the screws from the mobtherboard to get it out

You're motherboard has a blown capacitor. It works because its been completely discharged after being disconnected from power for so long. But it will begin causing problems again soon.

jesus nigger what the fuck are you doing

Its alright ive fixed it. Turns out i just wssnt hitting it hard enough.
Still cant get that connector in though.

Can I have your video card? I'll independently test it on two different systems.

Make sure you have the right one. Should be labeled CPU from what I can tell

Why not 3?
Here you go, it's all yours.
