>Melfi didn't let Tony capture her rapist and torture him to death

>Melfi didn't let Tony capture her rapist and torture him to death

Most disappointing part of the entire show. I wanted to see Tony's reaction so badly.

Congrats on missing the point of the episode, you fucking aborted retard.

>wanting it to be different means you didn't understand the point
I get that Melfi was retaining her morality by not being judge, jury, and executioner. I just wish we got to see Tony destroy him.

You are literally too dumb to be watching this show OP, please kys.

Stick to crap like Breaking Bad, you fucking retard.

You're clearly too stupid for this show.

t. retarded pseudointellectuals

I am saying that I understand why Melfi didn't tell him, and agree that was for the best morally, but on a personal level it would have been satisfying to see him get his comeuppance. Are you guys actually retarded?

you are the dumb one for thinking that having Tony destroy the guy would be better than the perfect anti climax we got, if you didn't go OOOOOH at the end of the emotional rollercoaster that was that episode i don't know what to tell you.

You think like a pleb

Don't waste your time with the dumb aborted retard and let the thread die, ignore any of his comments.

I never said it would be better that way, or that the episode ought to end that way. I said it would be satisfying to see the rapist get killed. I never said that's how the episode should end, that it should happen on the show, simply the rapist of a character I like die would be satisfying.

Are you two legitimately retarded or stupid? I loved the ending, and how the plotline turned out, it couldn't have been better.
You guys are illiterate.

>all these cucks ITT that didn't want to see Tony go ham on the spic

then what was the point of making this thread you nerd

To say it would have been satisfying to seem him get tortured to death by Tony.

What was the point of posting in my thread multiple times if you cannot read?

What i meant in my post was that what we got was more satisfying that if Tony rekt the rapist, i'm saying that if you find Tony killing Melfi more satisfing that Melfi staying quiet about it you are dumb, you're slow, you fucking fanook

Of course we all viscerally wanted to see it I agree, or most of us, but it was an expertly executed script to sort of reflect on our expectations or the impact of violence, the morality, sort of self reflexive.

>I loved the ending, and how the plotline turned out, it couldn't have been better.
>Goes on to say it would be better a different way.
You lost this argument a long time ago kid. Go away.

>literally calls it an anticlimax
>more satisfying
By definition that is just not true. The anticlimax is far less satisfying but also far more in-line with the character/narrative.
Exactly what I'm trying to say, thank you.

>I never said it would be better that way, or that the episode ought to end that way.
That's literally in the post you're responding to. You also quoted another part of my post that is me again saying I don't want the ending different. Just because I said seeing something would be satisfying does not mean I said it would be better a different way, in fact you quoted me disproving exactly what you're saying. You are actually retarded.

you know Sup Forums begins to suck when people hate the sopranos AND breaking bad. geeez

ikr, i mean ugh... jeez..... holy moly.... vaffanculo

Nope. You're wrong. And contradictory. Fuck off, dumbass.

>its a Sup Forums argues semantics episode

Lol, you're making some good arguments here. Quoting something that disproves your own argument, very intelligent.

>It's a "Melfi let's a rapist go on to rape other women just so she can feel good about herself" episode

No, the justice system let that happen.

hellooooo, reddit!
>violent is bad
*tips fedora*

THIS!

we already had an episode where Tony lets the bad guy go (the soccer coach)

it's literally lazy writing to have two similar scenarios, and both ending with people not wanting Tony to get involved

Tony would have done it though, no questions asked right?

IF Melfi told Tony about the rape, then she would be beholden to him. Which means a couple of seasons later, when he made his romantic pass at her during his separation with Carmela, then he could have outright blackmailed Melfi with the fact that he murdered her rapist, to force her to become his mistress.

That being said, the real failure of the entire arc was that Tony never found out through alternate channels. He had people in the police department on his payroll feeding him intel, especially on Melfi in season one.

It's insane he never found out that Mefli was raped that way and had him killed in a manner that looked like an accident and Melfi never knowing for certain that Tony did it.

>muh morality

Fuck that. I'm all for due process and innocent until proven guilty, but you just know that piece of shit continued his raping ways after that.

Melfi's "conscience" probably got a few more women raped... or worse.

Should note that the entire rape storyline was done to appease the actress who played Melfi.

She was getting pissed off that she wasn't getting much material to work with storywise and they responded with the rape storyline and the pay off being that Melfi opts to keep it a secret to Tony, as far as Mefli making the painful but morally right decision of not becoming beholden to Tony and his corrupt world.

>IF Melfi told Tony about the rape, then she would be beholden to him. Which means a couple of seasons later, when he made his romantic pass at her during his separation with Carmela, then he could have outright blackmailed Melfi with the fact that he murdered her rapist, to force her to become his mistress
That would have been better than absolutely nothing happening with her character that mattered

Why would they feed him random information about her without him asking? pretty sure he only needed what he got from them in season one and stopped caring

This. Just imagine if Melfi asked Tony to kill that shitskin, she'd owe him a lot, pretty soon he'd be asking favors from her, probably prescriptions and shit, scams and all that, it would turn into a very messy downward spiral for here and probably her family too.

she wouldn't have to ask Tony to kill him

she could just say she was raped and Tony would have dealt with it

Good desicion on their part, I really liked her character and thought she needed more spotlight

Her conversations with Tony were the best part of the show for me

>give me more screentime
>heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere's your rape scene!

I KNOW RITE BRO!

WHY ISN'T TONY ACTING LIKE I AM LE DANGER!!!!!WHERE MUH EXPLOSIONS BEEEE!!!!!!!!!! HE CAN'T KEEP GETTIN AWAY WITH THIS REEEEEEEEE!!!!!!! *BAZZZINGAAA xddd*

You're an idiot. She'd still have to tell Tony about the perp in order for Tony to find out specifics.

He sent him.

and you're an idiot because if she doesn't ask Tony to take care of the guy, then there's nothing she would owe him

who is this mattress actress?

Would have made for some good tv t bh.

Sperg faggot.

was the point of the episode getting a massive boner? because that's what happened 2bhwy

Oooooooh! He went there!

Loraine Brocco (crappy spelling)

Fun fact: she was the wife from Goodfellas and was originally offered the role of Carmella. She turned down the role (felt the role was too similar to her Goodfellas role) and instead asked if she could audition for Melfi.

For context: She was approached for her name/meta genre value (basically the entire cast of the Sopranos were a bunch of no-names at the time season one was filmed; Edie Falco was the closest to a "name" as she was one of the leads on Oz at the time and Lorraine was widely praised for her work on Goodfellas).

They hadn't even thought about casting Melfi when they approached the actress (they wanted a name actress for the wife, and a lesser known one for Melfi) and went along with it because Chase was desperate for a big name actress familiar with working in the mobster genre.

Sabrina Carpenter

Some people need to just admit and come to terms with the fact that they are just too intellectually inept to be watching kino tier TV such as The Sopranos and The Wire. They are better suited for low brow, less mentally challenging entertainment in the vain of Breaking Bad or Rick and Morty.

I'm sure they have some amusing discussions related to these """"shows"""" on Reddit, which is where many of you belong desu senpai.

>mattress actress
fuck that's a good one.

FUCKKKKK YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUU

wot
>no porn
gay post desu

>Treats Tony for years
>Never abandons him despite many chances to do so
>eventually becomes as reliant on him as he does her
>Then sees one journal article
>DUDE YOU'RE A PSYCHOPATH WERE DONE GET OUT

Melfi's ending is the only bad part of the last season. She deserved a better conclusion to her character.

Your fault for assuming every blue eyed blonde is from THAT site.

Not really, her character was extremely flawed. She always felt like she was superior to Tony which is a pretty shitty thing for somebody who claims to be trying to help him.

Hey man, no hard feelings. You're just a sperg faggot and that's okay.

that cop who fed tony with information killed himself before the rape had happened

her character only existed so Tony could have an excuse to monologue without something as lame as a voice over

glad they got edie falco to play carm
