The concept of "Idiocracy" has been around long before Mike Judge wrote a movie for it. It's unfortunate a basic biological trait as a foolproof mechanism to preserve the existence of our species. When you look at people as one super biological collective being, everything we hold valuable or important becomes negligible for our survival. Also the Greeks and Romans and all those old civilisations covered this problem.
