Modern punk (2015-Now)

I need some new punk, so I'm going to arbitrarily say anything released from 2015 until now. (Almost) any subgenre is welcome. Garage/noise/street/pop/surf/beach/hardcore/whatever

Bonus points for listing albums that makes Sup Forums call you a SJW

pic related is pretty good

I'm a part of what some people call the "alt-right" and it feels punk as fuck. It feels like an actual counter culture, or rebellion against the PC culture that dominates American colleges.

this

k

Anyway, here's some more recs from Chicago
No-Men - Dear God, Bring the Doom
no-men.bandcamp.com/album/dear-god-bring-the-doom
Absolutely Not - Programmed (glam-ish post punk)
absolutelynotmusic.bandcamp.com/album/programmed
Negative Scanner - S/T (garage)
negativescanner.bandcamp.com/

and - because they make me laugh -
The Pokemon Liberation Army - TM101 (ska-core)
pokemonliberationarmy.bandcamp.com/

man, I'd love to think the same, I can't help but feel it's essentially trading one master for another.

It's being counterculture for the sake of being counterculture. The people that profit from the PC culture and the people that'd profit from the opposite still want to fuck us all in the ass. There wouldn't be much of a change for the better, just a change. The system's already, fundamentally, fucked.

Hell I'm just ranting, I don't even know what the perfect solution would be, I just don't think this is it

you know you're in the majority? colleges have always been the vanguard, and if anything is wrong with them it's because of conservative policies

ahh, what'd Pat The Bunny release as of late? I'm fairly sure he made some stuff >2015, he only retired recently.

eh, try this

If you like it, check practically anything he's released. Has like ten different alibis, fairly sure I saw all his music round the sharethreads though.

Titus Andronicus' also quite good. I didn't like their last album (youtube.com/watch?v=0dX6LL7b8Y0) as much as their previous one, The Monitor, check both out though.

not that you are wrong but its just a pasta

Instittute - Subordination

aah man what the fuck do I know, I'm drunk

let's talk punk

you've probably heard Sleater-Kinney's latest album. In case you don't:

I was at Ramshackle Glory's last show at Plan-It-X last year. Damn sorry to see them go.

On that note,
Michael Jordan Touchdown Pass - Be a Tiger (folk punk)
michaeljordantouchdownpass.bandcamp.com/album/be-a-tiger

and also

Yoko and the Oh No's - S/T (post punkish soul)
yokoandtheohnos.bandcamp.com/album/yoko-and-the-oh-nos-2
Woongi - Music for Prophet (not punk, alt synth rock - still cool though)
woongi.bandcamp.com/album/music-for-prophet
Bad Bad Meow - Pretty Famous People (psych rock)
badbadmeow.bandcamp.com/album/pretty-famous-people-2

Pile - A Hairshirt of Purpose (post hardcore)
pile.bandcamp.com/album/a-hairshirt-of-purpose
Hinds - Leave Me Alone (all female band from Spain, garagey pop punk - HIGHLY REC though these songs will burrow into your fucking skull)
hinds.bandcamp.com/album/leave-me-alone

PUP's pretty good if youre into that kinda thing

Love the song DVP, but can't get into most of their stuff. It makes me feel sad and I can do that on my own perfectly well, thank you very much.

Though that reminds me of a band that I forgot to mention

The Dirty Nil - Higher Power is an amazing album

Here's the Audiotree session they did
youtube.com/watch?v=RLR6-toC6z4

i guess this is dance punk or something so it kinda qualifies
anyway its a great and really underrated album
its been out only for like a week but it quickly became one of my favorites this year

Anyone have anything that sounds like this

I'm going to break the 2015 rule for this one, but

Ty Segall - S/T
together PANGEA - Living Dummy
Bass Drum of Death - S/T
The Frights - S/T
Thee Oh Sees - Help
Bleached - Ride Your Heart
Wavves - Afraid of Heights

jesus christ that title is so edgy, it's nowhere near as simple as right wing = evil / left wing = good
