What is your view on the Volkswagen emission scandal, Sup Forums?

>VW Stinkbug

Germans always had problems with gas leaks

The EPA has caused more damage to the environment than VW ever has.

What the fuck other view can there be? Corrupt business doing corrupt shit.

Global warming is a hoax, I don't care. Good for VW

It only applies to the diesel models but Nu/pol/ cucks will think this applies to all VWs

>ooooh there is 1 pollution measure more than allowed and they hid it wah wah kme kme

should westernshits be glassed?

It's not just about global warming. If you think so, then go stick your mouth on a tailpipe

It showed me the modern germans are being infested with corruption. Quality- their #1 goal and their best trait is being flushed away by global competition

Everything about money. Implying someone cares about the environment.

all we need is peaceful depopulation.
If its so hard to keep emissions down. id rather have less peeps on earth. It would also solve the hunger crisis, were just full

Germans

Still trying to gas the jews.

They lied about emissions, they'll lie about anything. VW needs to be out of commission, bankrupt, done. Those responsible need to have their assets seized and be severely punished. Non-responsible parties should be given appropriate compensation for their termination.

We need a strong signal to other companies. You do not lie to the American people. And the same to you, Ms. Clinton!

Dont really care either way, i'm more angry at the EU for putting restrictions on everything

I still remember when it was still news and all shills on Sup Forums and other social media went full dindu.
Glorious.

Germans doing what they do best. Gassing people.

They actually programmed the car to have lesser emissions when it knew it was tested, it's shady as fuck.

the car on the right still emits less emissions than the car on the left

fug ovv gommie

Support the peoples' car from the Jewish EPA's attacks.

It proves that German engineering is still top-tier

I applaud them for finding creative ways to bypass regulations

US corporate interest fucking a competitor up the ass, while the foreign governments chokeholde their victim, becaise they are US puppets.

Don't give a fuck, I own R36 and I honestly don't give a fuck.
Yes, my R36 is 2010 and that wasn't part of the emission scandal but either way I wouldn't give a fuck.

I'd just bring it back, demand my money back and buy updated model.
Now that Ford is selling Mustangs in Ireland I'll be getting one of those because why the fuck not.

The people involved fucking suck at risk management.

Oh, you.

I am very sad about it because it was just such a stupid and unnecessary move. VW overtook Toyota as the biggest car producer again this quarter even with the emission scandal going on, they simply didn't need to cheat.

And like I said this makes me sad because VW used to be a jewel of the german industry - extremely successful and extremely clean. If you were asked how a company should be run, you could point to them. Not so much anymore.

How are people still buying their products? I cant believe VW is allowed to be this profitable after they lied like they did. What's next? Ford cheats on Safety Test? Honda lies about gas mileage? Local dealership lies about interest rates? None of that shit is acceptable.

Disappointing. They've made some great motors in the past, but between this and the fake engine noises they've implemented, they just look like they're getting lazy.

>If you were asked how a company should be run, you could point to them.

Nope. VW has always been the german equivalent of too big to fail, and it was managed that way. A lot of hubris.

Emmision taxes are a jew plan to control enemy industries.

>POOLE

Everyone is doing fake noises these days. At least with VW you can turn it off/down in firmware or pull the plug. If you try that in a Ford Ecoboost Mustang you lose the stereo.

I hate it too. Even my wife's Mini has that shit now. If I want to hear the exhaust I'll roll down the window. Otherwise I want it quiet.

Government trying to crash the whole automobile industry save GM (because they own it). It's why they held off on telling people about the jap car thing (whatever company it was...) until right after GM got bailed out.

That's profoundly ridiculous. Things like this are why I'm terrified of maybe having to own a modern car some day.

Only Californians and nature fetishist care about it.

Hell, this made me support VW more, because emissions laws are such horseshit.

Couldn't give less of a shit, desu f.am.

>Volkswagen
>ever not cheating
You only need look at their motorsport outfits to know that Der ewige Audi cannot help but cheat. If y'all think jews are bad, you should see Audi.

Germans are lying little shits, that's for sure!

Never trust the eternal kraut.

Bullshit. They just forgot to pay kosher bribe to Rothschills

Stallman warned us about this.
If car software was open source, this would never have happened, and consumers could then make a more informed decision.

>What is your view on the Volkswagen emission scandal, Sup Forums?
I don't think they should be punished harshly. simply fix the issue, and be done with it. punishing them could destroy hundreds of thousands of jobs.

>stepdad has been repairing farm equipment for over two decades
>rapidly entering a time where doing his job is copyright infringement

Jobs wont be "destroyed," customers will switch to reputable car manufactures and the jobs will open up there.

I own a Volkswagen Vento
It could emit zyklon-b for all I care, but I haven't seen a car with better price to performance ratio and comfort.
Japanese cars feel like horse carts in comparison after driving Volkswagen

>Ms. Clinton
I almost responded to this bait.
>tfw proud vw owner

Don't worry, it was only a few years ago that Toyota was putting faulty accelerators in their cars and literally killing people. Everyone will forget and VW will be on top again.

>TFW VAG's F1 entry will be aborted.

Hold me Sup Forums.

Then keep peddling your bike you poor fuck.

VW did nothing wrong
Mitsubishi did nothing wrong
BMW did nothing wrong
Mercedes did nothing wrong

All of them have "cheated" to pass emissions testing in one way or another, and there is nothing wrong with that. The liberal pencil pushers responsible for setting this restrictions in place are to blame for demanding the impossible. They are intentionally trying to kill the gas engine, and the only way for auto manufacturers to stay alive is to fudge the numbers, make lack luster hybrids, or lose money trying to sell EVs.

Beetle cars are redpilled

EPA is bullshit.
Pre-EPA03 cars is good.
But after that its just garbage.
I'm talking about trucks.

Nah, I'll just keep enjoying my old car. And when it finally rusts out, I'll just have to put in the time to do a private sale instead of just hitting up the used sections of a few stealerships and calling it a day.

Usual example of western "haw haw we so good so moral so ecology so right look at me look look!!!" that turns out to be fraud
Very typical

>that blackface

...

Oh forget what I said then. I drive a an old ride too. I just thought you were some kind of cyclingfag. It might be smart, healthy and economical to ride but it's the queer outfits and the superiority culture that I hate.

>tfw your city loses millions in taxes for years now because of the scandal
>rest of the taxes go to rapefugees

Emission tests are bullshit that kill performance.

Those test are already rigged to support government funded crap like Tesla! Volkswagen did nothing wronng!!

VW served me well in the past, good service, good quality and good prices.
I'm not going to change my car because they cheated on some green environmentalist faggot shit that made the car cheaper for me since they dodged emmision taxes.

It's endemic to the car industry and not just VW group

THIS
H
I
S

Soon euro 0 (euro3 for now) reporting in.

Volkswagen TDIs get such good gas mileage they pollute far less than others even with the sneaky emissions shit, which really didn't amount to much.

The government hates turbo diesels because they are extremely efficient and are an argument to continue to use fossil fuels

The government doesn't give a shit about emissions, they want to control energy and they dislike cars of real efficiency because they receive less taxes

TDIs in European VWs get around 85mpg in some models, and not the tiny little ones but large sedans like the Passat.

The US government doesn't allow those TDI engines over here.

...

Seriously?

I think every single car manufacturer is cheating. Emission scandals with defeat devices have a long history in Europe, America, Japan etc. GM was fined in the past, Toyota, Chrysler etc.

Or in other words, this whole thing is a big political thing. But it probably is backfiring on American car manufacturers, because Volkswagen now has introduced a new strategy towards electric vehicles and new tech.

Underrated post. Coloradofag here and that whole river contamination deal made me absolutely livid.

No apology even they just sort of took a "oh oops, our bad heehee" mentality to the whole thing. Hopefully the EPA is the first agency gutted when trump wins

My buddy has had a TDI Jetta since 2010 with a manual trans. Cruising down the highway he routinely gets over 50mpg average. Pretty good for an engine that makes 140hp and 236torx. Puts tiny Jap shitboxes to shame.

Don't care, VW faced the brunt of it but we're finding out that everyone rigged emissions tests.

I actually bought a TDI Sportwagen as my first car because I was able to snag a 2015 with absolutely no miles for $10k during the scare.

LIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Germans would never do such a thing!!!!!!!!!!

No that's National Socialism you dimwitted sideways peruvian

Proof that private companies are way more efficient than governments at quality control tests and also proof that the market punishes those who employ nature-damaging methods.

BMW 320D manual gets 65 MPG on the highway cruising at 75 MPH.

forgot to add some irony is that those super efficient TDI engines are made in the VW plant in Chattanooga, TN

I also wouldn't be surprised if the Governments projected ire at VW is because they showed what low taxes can do, VW was enticed to Chattanooga from the low barriers to business and they transformed the city from a shithole to a very nice place.

It's bullshit. It's a byproduct of California being the biggest shitstain on the fucking planet.

Dont care at all. Fuck those rules.

> Non-responsible parties should be given appropriate compensation for their termination

LE MONEY OUT OF THIN AIR MAYMAY

Lol only the Germans.

God bless them.

>LIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Germans would never do such a thing!!!!!!!!!!

People don't even know what VW did. It was not like VW cheated on how much fuel their cars need, it was some stinking NOX emissions shit.

Do people even know that 10 years ago, ALL of the Volkswagen cars even without the cheat device would have passed US emissions standards with flying colors?

America just introduced those shitty standards to kill off foreign diesels and help domestic made gasoline cars, that is the ONLY reason.

Why doesn't the government want you to have these?

35mpg 4x4, 6000lbs towing capacity

Same here. He said he'll do it, I pray to fuck that he does.

Intrusion on our domestic product.

Fuck big gov't.

i did my masters thesis on that river spill. its not as bad as it looks. mainly just iron oxide contamination, nothing much past that.

but yeah, EPA are fucking retards.

>implying I'd buy a car (s) comprised of parts made in Germany by Turks and assembled in Mexico by shitskins who hate me.

idc

Their arbitrary "standards" are nothing more than another tax

It was consumer fraud and morally wrong to advertise the car as having a different emission output. That being said it's still has lower emissions than any given older model car, so it's hypocritical to attack it if you drive a volvo from the 1990s.

no, we can get the gasoline tacomas that get 18mpg

The government does not want fuel efficient cars. They want tax revenue for now and eventually a shift away from fossil fuels to energy systems that are structured to be completely under their control (even more money and power).

Those trucks are amazing. Wish I could buy one here but they won't let us

Underrated as fuck.

DELETE THIS

I literally do not give a single fuck

t.- guy who removed his cat

Its special interest lobbyists advocating for restricted trade of a, objectively, better product.

Still inferior to chevy's equivalent and ford's

I see a lot of these on the streets, they are pretty damn great.
v8 4.something i think.

>35 mpg is inferior to 17 mpg

But that's wrong friendo.

emission testing of a fraud and just used by the government to make more money. the government don't give a fuck about the environment they only care about taking from the wealthy and wasting the money on pointless short term improvements

I've never paid much attention to BMWs, but this is really intriguing. Is it just a turboed diesel or is it one of those tandem electric motor setups?

Ford Ranger, Chevy Colorado have more power and towing than the hilux with a similar Mpg
