slovakian old towns are so adorable

The houses look alike those in Poland but the cathedral it's quite distinct, similiar to the ones in Austria/Hungary

also their distinctive shape of the main street

pic rel

did there used to be an architecture board on Sup Forums? i have a vague but distinct memory of seeing that on the home page but never browsing it

that would be the slowest board in existence
still i'd like to see it

imagine the architectural memes

What made you reconsider your taste in architecture?

They appear from time to time. I love it.

Oops, read it wrong. I thought you talked about architecture threads here.

...

...

...

...

I like how I can recognize this country from miles away. It couldn't be anywhere else, but at the same time I don't feel anything in those pictures is exclusively found here.

where have you been?

Also please rate these houses. There's an entire street filled with them in my town, it's probably the most expensive street to live outside of the canals but I really love how it looks.

flat + bikes = netherlands (or belgium)

Nah most of northern-Germany is flatland too, so are parts of France and huge chunks of the USA, Canada, Russia, etc. Yet it couldn't be anywhere else. Probably the brick houses.

Are you that girl that made /urban + architecture/ threads in the past? I haven't seen you here for a while.

...

...

well it's Kassa, it was once one of the largest Hungarian towns in the kingdom, its cathedral was refurbished only a couple of decades before Trianon happened

looks like shit

Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Delft, Den Haag, Breda, Baarle-Hertog, Zeeland, Haarlem, Zaandam. I hope I didn't forget anything.
I like it, but it looks kinda different from everything else that I've seen in the Netherlands.

Elaborate

...

what's the deal with the shape of slovakian old towns e.g. kosice, presov, poprad?
hungarian towns don't have that distinct wide street as far as i see on maps

Not only break houses. I'd say overall neatness, canals, big windows and attention to details.

>streets to narrow for cars
>no parking lots, you have to rely on your fucking bike
>semi-detached houses are an absolute waste of space (basically the same shit as a suburb but without backyards)
>monotone brick houses
>no private space
2/10 would not live there

you don't like towns do you

he got cucked by his korean long distance gf

nah

I don't know the exact reasons, but it might have something to do with "Slovakian" old towns not having been occupied and/or destroyed by Turkish and Habsburg forces during their two-century long warring on Hungarian lands
Upper Hungary (what is present day Slovakia) was relatively safe, as it was a part of the Habsburg dominion, and its towns could more easily preserve their architecture and urban fabric compared to other Hungarian towns, most of which were razed to the ground completely in the 17th century

>streets to narrow for cars
>no parking lots, you have to rely on your fucking bike
10/10, I hate cars. Also, it's irrational to give a lot of place for cars since there are far more humans in cities.
>no private space
>semi-detached houses are an absolute waste of space (basically the same shit as a suburb but without backyards)
Bullshit.
>monotone brick houses
What do you want? An architectural circus?

...

He's German. They live in soulless bland cities full of graffiti tags telling white people to die.

Yeah, I know. Been there. Although, they have good towns too.

Ah yes that looks very German indeed. I'm sorry you had to experience it.

...

> I hate cars
Faggot
What I said is true, those houses are a waste of space. Either build efficient high-rises or build real suburbs where you have enough space for a big house, a backyard etc. and where the neighbors can't hear you through their wall. Those row-houses combine the worst of both worlds.

netherlands is horrible but i like the canals

Do you have autism?
Those houses actually look good and add character to a town.

actual suburbs are cancer and not everywhere you need/can build a highrise

>What I said is true, those houses are a waste of space
>Those row-houses combine the worst of both worlds.
Big houses are too hard to maintain and too detached from anything like shops, public places etc, and commieblocks are just shit, I think there is no need to explain it. Dutch houses are what humans need to live a normal life.

...

I saved all your pictures. Somehow you managed to capture Dutch urban scenery so perfectly.

Thanks. I can post some more.

...

...

Look, this is the ideal fucking city. I live there and can't complain. The streets are wide, you can easily navigate throught the city with your car. There is enough space between the houses and you have a lot of privacy in your comfy 7th floor apartment with a great view from the window/balkony. There are more than enough parking lots and everythig you need is nearby (malls, schools, banks etc.)

...

God this shithole most be in eastern-Germany. Is it Leipzig or Chemnitz?

What made you decide to take a picture of something as boring and common as this?

...

Is oc welcome?

fuck not upside down again.

>mfw this is actually in germany
if it wasn't for image search i'd say you were trolling

argentinian enbassy in canberra?

...

Have you been to Goes, Middelburg, Renesse, Zierizee and Brouwershaven?

THOSE ROW HOUSES ARE THE SAME AS AMERICAN SUBURBS WITH THE EXCEPTION THAT YOU DONT EVEN HAVE YOUR OWN BACKYARD (OR JUST A RIDIDULOUSLY SMALL ONE) AND STILL CAN HEAR YOUR NEIGHBOR THROUGH THE WALL. PEDESTRIANS CAN STALK YOU THROUGH THE WINDOW TOO

Berlin

I don't know what it keeps happening, they look alright before posting them.

I think after Russia it was staggeringly for me to see neat, well-designed, and good-maintained houses and infrastructure almost everywhere. Here we have only the Moscow center that is relatively good, but even there you can easily find some shit. Even right next to the Kremlin where Putin sits.
Bad bait.

My street.

what's this meme with hearing neighbours? i live in a small commieblock and it's really hard to hear anything
what kind of a wall would you need to hear your neighbour talk

You just have a shit taste you disgusting pervert. You know nothing about comfiness and efficiency.

What the fuck are those houses even worth if you surround them by commieblocks blocking all view

No, but I'm planning to return and see more cities. I really like it in the Netherlands.
> YOU DONT EVEN HAVE YOUR OWN BACKYARD
Sometimes you do, actually. But I think it's useless anyway.
>AND STILL CAN HEAR YOUR NEIGHBOR THROUGH THE WALL
I don't know, maybe. That means walls are shitty. Btw I also hear my neighbors pretty well in my shitty comm*eblock.
>PEDESTRIANS CAN STALK YOU THROUGH THE WINDOW TOO
Same shit, but when houses are small there aren't many pedestrians there. When they're big there are many people around a house usually. And you still can hear them,

Whatever dude.

...

...

>Those narrow roads
Just like in Russia. No one cares about people.

shilling my town as usual

...

>more cities
You've seen them all lol
Go to Belgium instead, Gent and Antwerp are beautiful. Brugge is worth a visit too.

dont be a dick

...

I think I should visit Poland. It's relatively close and cheap but still looks really good sometimes.

...

...

...

You can also visit Gdansk and see both the Netherlands again and visit Poland at the same time I guess.

I'm going to Belgium in two weeks, lol.

our commie town

>lets put some skyscrapers on this meadow

Looks good. Considering it's also warm almost always it should be a good city to live in.

Looks like europe

I didn't dig it 2bh. Munich is WAY better.

>Frankfurt
>Looks like Europe
Why shouldn't it, lol?

its's the financial capital of eu after all

My home city Norwich

...

Yes, we have palm trees here.
