why is sweden such a humanitarian superpower of a country, lads?

Viking guilt.

we looooove everyone

they were what natsies aspired to be
subject their minority to total racial and social genocide and succeed at it without world wide condemnation
if germanics had a conscience the swedes are their evil personified

i love u

Well, our prime minister isn't allowed into Turkey lol. Nor is our ambassador or other government officials.

They are still mad about this

If it had been in America Edrogan would've lost because the majority vote loses there

...

I cannot fucking believe this ended up being the thing that tipped evet to victory
Even i hate the dutch at this point

That's fucked up. I'm not even memeing

Actually, it's the Turks in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and France that voted for Erdogan. Your diaspora voted massively for him.

Idk what the big deal is here. The US has always allied itself with dictators whenever it was convenient

Well they were sent by him to infiltrate the enemy so it wouldn't make sense for their loyalty to be wavering.

Who cares? Let's be serious, did anyone actually have high hopes for Turkey? They couldn't even make it into the EU.

In Belgium 77% voted for Erdogan. In the Netherlands 69%. In Austria 71%. In France 64,5%. In Germany 62,8%.

I was rooting for them. I thought it was really gonna extend Europe's borders. Oh well.

The borders of Turkey cannot be controlled. Then we'd have open borders with all kinds of shitholes in the middle east.

Even Romania is in the EU. Do you have idea idea how hard you'd have to suck to not be allowed in? Pretty damn hard.

The entire incident made nationalists more likely to vote evet.
Had it not happened, hayır would have(most likely) won

I'm proud.

Or the unstamped voting bills.

You know it was illegal for Turkish ministers to campaign abroad. According to Turkish law.

We don't have to let Turks campaigns here either. And if your government then starts with threats and tries to force itself on us then they can just piss off.

Earlier that night a Turkish minister that came by plane was already rejected landing rights here. Then the Turkish consulate pretended nothing was going on and tried to sneak in another minister by two columns of cars to throw off the police. And encite riots.

Any idea what it was in the UK?

that's because you couldn't educate them, but it's not your fault, because they are not educatable.

In the UK they voted against Erdogan with 82%. In spain against with 81%. In the USA against with 83%. In Canada against with 75%.

Any idea what it was in Sweden?

This referendum reminds me so much of brexit, divided as fuck

In a Turkey vs. Netherlands situation who would Trump support?

No I don't. I got the stats from a Belgian news site.

demorgen.be/buitenland/belgische-turken-stemmen-meest-uitgesproken-ja-op-referendum-van-hele-wereld-b0abd2a7/

So now that the Turks have a new chieftain, who are they gonna genocide?

As always idiocy prevails.

We're pretty much the last bastion of American influence in the EU.

Their teachers and journalists.Thats how it always starts.

Is that a good thing?

The Netherlands and the UK have always had an interest in being a bridge between Europe and the USA. It's in our economic and military interest.

But France and Germany prefer independence. South Europe doesn't care either way. And the East has no say in big affairs.

What's so bad about this Turkish referendum? All I can find is the EU complaining about the death penalty possibly being reinstated.

Erdogan can dissolve parliament whenever he wants

Okay, so on the good side, they voted no here. On the bad side, holy shit there are almost ten thousand Turks living in Sweden right now! God, I need to go lock my door!

Wow that is not very tolerant of you Sven

1. canada
2. probably but no confirmation yet so can't deny it

I don't know how it was in the other countries, but here less than 50% voted at all and in the end only 14% of the elligible turkish population voted yes.
It seems that its just the part of the turks in germany who still give a fuck about turkey are more likely to support Erdogan, which I don't think is that surprising if you realise how many of the turks in germany come from the rural hinterlands that he got his voterbase from.

I'd be actually curious how the participation was among the other expat populations, are there any numbers on that in the Netherlands?

Their not, when looking at their humanitarian aid recepients it shows they only give to countries that share their socialist thought.
