It's about knowing what you're playing and actually trying to make it sound good rather than just aiming for an arbitrary number of "notes per second".

I don't have a lot of experience with tube amp that's why I'm asking. The 7 sounded very saturated at a relatively high volume which was good but I like to play clean a lot. I saw the 15 has a master volume control which sounds like what I need, correct me if I'm wrong
