I wonder if Sky will stop sucking Hamilton's dick so much/shitting on his teammate now that "the German" that "Mercedes are blatantly favouring" is gone or if they'll start trashing Bottas because "Toto was his manager, it's obvious he's the team's darling"
Brandon Bailey
Are you kidding? They are just getting started. I give it until Russia before Crofty starts going on about how Nazi Germany and Finland were allies during WW2 and how some Mercedes road cars are built in Finland.

Better than his actually music taste (not that I don't actually listen to those songs)
>Favourite music to drive to >Nico Rosberg has gone for more well-known songs - picking U2's Beautiful Day, Surfin' USA by The Beach Boys and Sex on Fire by Kings of Leon.
I do like how when Rosberg filmed himself driving away from Abu Dhabi with the trophy the car was blaring sex on fire and he was singing along.
Cooper Taylor
"Well, eh... These are not usually my kind of things but thanks a lot for everyone and congratulations for everyone who are awarded and to those who are not. And good new year! This is a great honor to accept this kind of thing. (looks at the trophy trying to figure out what hell it's about). Maybe mostly because trough out my whole career I have been allowed to work with great people and teams and I'm even currently working in one of the world's best firms. On the other hand the one thing personally the greatest for myself is that I have made all the things in my own way. There has been some controversial events but even after all that there has been good moments and bad moments but I have still believed in my own way and made things the way I want to do them. That really proves you don't have to do things always like your neighbor or a guy next to you tells you to do. Doing things in your own way can lead to great results. For that thank you for every one. Good new year! And for the end especially in the year like this when Finland turns 100 years this is a great honor. Thank you."

You allege that Emilia loves horses Valtteri's ability with the shotgun is well documented, plus he was recently photographed while wrangling a reindeer at Mika'd wedding.

To be fair Corinna wasn't autistic.

First of all, as a huge fan of everything you and your team have accomplished, let me offer to you my most sincere condolences for this terrible tragedy. That someone could do such a thing, and to such a hero, leaves me simply confounded. I cannot fathom what pettiness might drive a person to such a despicable act, and I fear that I would lose my sanity were I to try. It pained me very deeply to hear the news, as I imagine it must have pained many of us - but I know that must be nothing compared to what you and your team must be feeling today. To that end, let me say this: take all the time you need. Of course your community will be anxiously awaiting any news you might have as to exactly what occurred, what it means, and what the consequences for the stream might be. However, we (and I do feel I speak for the community here) understand completely the situation you are in, and will wait patiently for as long as it takes until you are ready to communicate with us. We supported you before, we support you now, and we will support you always. Finally, let me state what, I hope, will be painfully obvious to all of you: if there is anything - anything at all - that I or anyone else in this community can do to help you in this darkest hour, you simply MUST tell us. For you, you who have walked through fire to bring us a service we had no right to ask of you, I feel confident in saying we would march to the gates of Hell and back if it could provide you some small modicum of assistance. We are a community. We work together, we play together, we watch together. Victories are sweetened and defeats softened because we did them together. You never abandoned us, so don't think for one second that any of us would ever abandon you. We stand with you, now and always, and we will gladly help you up when you stumble.
With love, respect, admiration, and hope, I remain Sincerely yours,
/u/h3r4ld
Lincoln Davis
Sorry if it seems a bit over-dramatic; I honestly just wrote the way I felt. Plus, having put in this much effort to provide the stream only to have some fraction of a man do this would hurt me deeply, and I imagine it did him as well.
Besides, I have a deep love for the written word, and to quote Sorkin: "In my house, anyone who uses one word when ten will do simply isn't trying hard enough" lol

Obviously /r/formula1 would never allow anyone to mention Henno again, let alone nominate him as "user of the year" or something similar.

Jens is the best ambassador for our sport. He's like the James Bond of F1. So smooth, so suave, always laid back and chilled. He never seems to get too involved in the politics, but there when a vocal voice is needed. He's always happy and upbeat, even when the odds are stacked against him. I love him in F1, but can't wait to see him as a commentator (you know it's going to happen.)
Henry Martinez
are the self proclaimed "best f1 community" aka /r/formula1 more autistic than us here?

I wouldn't be surprised if McLaren finally go orange this season. Obviously they didn't want to start their partnership with Honda with an iconic livery like the white and red Marlboro livery was. They surely noticed Honda would be shit before 2015 began, so they went into the new McHonda era in a relatively conservative livery, echoing to the past glory of the West + Mercedes livery. Then for some reason they changed into the ugly all black with a few stains of blood livery they used for the most part of 2015 and 2016. And now they may be finally going in with the so long wanted orange livery. Maybe they have hope in the new car adapting perfectly to the new regs, maybe the latest Honda tests were extremely promising.... Maybe that orange artwork from Twitter was simply to get us hyped before another mediocre season of McHonda... Who knows.

This sub is honestly one of the best on Reddit.
Off-topic, but some of the stuff that has been posted on here the last few weeks have been fantastic, including the shit-posting. Really is keeping the off-season going. The illustrations, general discussion, and cool statistics and facts - and even teams joining! There is very little drama and bickering considering its Formula 1, as well. Keep it coming guys. Oh, and shout out to the Mods as well. The sidebar and whole design is pretty well.

Personally hope this aero based formula suits Massa well so he can drive hard again. I'd genuinely love to see him ruin Stroll. It wouldnt ruin Strolls career by any means. But it'd let ol' Phil Masser know the old dog has still got it. This is gonna be like one season long party for him. I'm sure he'll get a few decent results as he'll know theres no pressure.
Bottas is the right pick for sure. He's very plucky to go in against Hamilton in his prime, but I'd be fairly sure we could see a win out of him. He knows how to race hard and cleanly (barring a little nudge of Lewis in Bahrain) he's fairly faultless. Reminds me a lot of Hakkinen and the view most people had on him just before he really hit his stride in 1998 - In 1997 he was a rated driver with potential, churned out good results and often pushed the car above where it should be (1994 definitely) and then suddenly found the right car for him in 1998 and he absolutely rocketed. I wouldn't underestimate him. IF he's as fast to ruffle Lewis's feathers we'll see some dummies spat by Team LH.
I'm a little perplexed as to why Sauber picked Werhlein to be honest - I dont think hes quite a finished package yet and hasnt had great feedback of FI or Manor really. Sauber needs stability not a prima donna. Could be a year he settles down and drops the sass though. I'd be impressed if he sharpens up. Most needed to improve out of the lot. Ericsson needs to sort himself out too actually.

That's something that a lot of people might not realize. I really wish he didn't come out of retirement, but I imagine he was feeling really pressured to get back. Williams made it very clear that they weren't going to roll with two rookies for 2017, and if Massa didn't come back they wouldn't release Bottas. So if Massa didn't return he was pretty much stopping Bottas from fulfilling a dream that any f1 driver has, racing for a big and competitive team with chances to win the championship.
Juan Fisher
From a selfish WAG perspective I wish Sutil hadn't retired from Williams as he would have been an alright replacement having actually raced these cars before unlike Di Resta, albeit in 2014.
Henry Jenkins
>So if Massa didn't return he was pretty much stopping Bottas from fulfilling a dream that any f1 driver has, racing for a big and competitive team with chances to win the championship. I think Massa said he only stayed with Ferrari because Schumacher retired, and I think that probably weighed heavily on his mind. It's almost the same circumstance, just in reverse.
Joshua Lewis

Still, there are other drivers available. You want someone with a bit of experience and good speed and just for one year, you could get in Jean-Éric Vergne perhaps or Sébastian Buemi from FE, from F1 you could (taking a bit of a risk) bring in Kvyat (because this sub has forgotten that he's actually not bad at all), Felipe Nasr (former Williams test driver) or Marcus Ericsson (looking actually quite good at the moment), or from outside F1 you could bring back Adrian Sutil (Williams test driver 2015) or even Paul Di Resta. They'd all be better shouts than Massa imo
EDIT: Didn't know Williams wanted consistency. I guess that all of the above wouldn't help in that case. Still, I think they'd be a good stand in at a team like Williams for a season while other drivers become available.
EDIT: Also didn't know about Ericsson's sponsors. So rule him out.
Ryan Campbell
I think the Massa-William relation weighed in a lot here. If they had bought in Vergne, Buemi or Sutil, they would be no different from a rookie in terms of getting grips with the team. Maybe some bit faster but they won't be as helpful to a team mate. This wouldn't be helping Stroll in any way (Assuming the whole experience team mate needed clause is true). Only other closest option was DiResta and he hasn't raced in a while. There might have been some discussion about him, but ultimately when it comes to experience in racing, and the team, Massa is a no brainer.
