Fade-outs are the trademark of the bad songwriter/musician. Simply put, it says they don't know how to end a song. Literally on the same level of hack filmmakers who leave their endings "ambiguous". Notice how no classical composers ever had to utilize the fade-out?
Great bait
imagine if your favorite movie faded out during the climax instead of just ending
That's actually a hilarious concept.
SOME GIRLS ARE BIGGAH THAN OTHAHS
kek
>band is playing live
>song fades out
>song fades out on a guitar solo
I don't even get the point
TV shows would be a better comparison.
>song abruptly stops
And classical music has always the same 3 endings they recycle in every piece
(You)
>song fades out, but abruptly stops before it can fade out all the way
>Song fades out
That's a good one. Biggest fucking cop out. Has pissed me off my whole life.
>3...2...1...GO
>Song starts
>someone keeps calling you while ur listening to an album
Fuck off mum
B-but I like fadeouts! The vast majority of songs don't have particularly creative finishes, they just stop, making 's point wrong. When a song fades out it lets me think in my mind that somewhere out there it's playing on forever, which is essential for a comfy song to make me feel comfy and relaxed afterwords, as opposed to it ending abruptly and leaving me cold and depressed

Love in an elevator lovin it up while we're goin down
>notice song sounds a little different
>check player
>song had transitioned seamlessly to the next track
>the outro of a song links to the intro of the next song
>awesome guitar solo plays , but AFTER the fadeout begins.
Seriously wtf
There are songs where a fadeout is thematically consistent, but for a lot of songs yeah the fadeout feels like a copout.
I do too. I'm up at nearly 1am listening to feels. Up for work at 6. Why do we do this.
