I'm shopping for new headphones. What are some good songs for testing the sound quality before I buy?
Headphone test tracks
Rage Against the Machine - Killing In The Name
King Crimson - Moonchild
Airbag by Radiohead
nearly any song off of The Glow pt 2
Thanks. Good picks
Primus - My Name Is Mud
James Blake - Limit to your Love
anything by Steely Dan
Miles Davis - So What
aja - steely dan
is the stereotypical sound sampler
the mars volta - cygnus... vismund cygnus
>James Blake - Limit to your Love
Definitely a good track to check bass response
I agree. All 14 minutes
I listen to Off Your Face by MBV and All of the Lights by Kanye on every new pair I get
Philip glass 4,33
laugh at me all you want, but i include Blank Space by Taylor Swift in my headphones tests because the mastering's great and it really shines on good equipment.
How can you test any song ever if you don't own the headphones?
I'm going to have to try that on my headphones
>the mastering's great
Yeah it kinda reminds me of this image.
You can go to audio shops and test them out to see how they sound usually. It's a nice thing to do before buying when it's available.
Whoops, wrong post
Jazz at the Pawnshop - Limehouse blues
Tsuyoshi Yamamoto - Misty
This album will ruthlessly expose any flaws in a headphone or speaker system.
I always use:
Spirtualized- Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space
Animal Collective- In the Flowers
Kahimi Karie- Literally any track off Nunki
Slowdive- Souvlaki Space Station
Anyone who knows anything about music production wouldn't laugh, this was mastered by the great Tom Coyne, this is easily one of the best recorded/engineered/mastered discs of the 2010's. Just because it's Swift takes nothing from the mastery behind it.
The objectively best answer is to use your own recorded material, user. You know exactly how that should sound. If you're not a musician, then just pick a track - not simply your favourite - that you know intimately.
>598 Without the sennheiser symbol
How??
haha
taylor swift is for legitimate retards.
wooow
Just try out a track/album that you are very intimate with
My go to list is-
Magma by gojira
Phantom of the opera by iron maiden
Backstreet freestyle by Kendrick Lamar
Bad karma by axel thesleff
Foster care by burial
Harder better faster stronger by daft punk
thank you for explaining! i knew it sounded too good to be mastered by some generic producer
