Two Sup Forumstants dropped solid shoegaze records this year. what did you do?
make original music that doesn't rip off british bands from the 80's-90's
this post made me realize that I've been writing an album for seven months already and none of the songs are actually fully done yet
meh
I bet that I'm making more money than those try-hards
Worked on a few new music etudes instead of reproducing the same pop rock that's been done for decades, but with more distortion and reverb.
>implying that shoegaze requires actual skills
So your etudes then are groundbreaking works?
Dropped two EPs within 6 months and am working on a third in a completely different style
post your work
It takes more skill than sampling and mumbling into a mic
>what did you do?
not really sure
Not even the best Sup Forumsgaze desu, can think of two or three better albums
Such as?
not music because I have a real career that I can actually make a living on
try growing up
Dropped a pretty solid EP earlier this year
>montie
>solid ep
funniest thing itt
watterson - feel good forever (idk if it counts, some really gazey parts)
husbands - promise (gazey knapsack)
eva luna - strange waltz (probably the best of the three, weird and dark)
You sound upset
what's the one on the left?
Tangible Rays - Seance
>not music because I have a real career that I can actually make a living on
Do you work 14/7?
I won't be happy until one of them gets interviewed, pronounces shoegaze like it rhymes like Fugazi, and refuses to stop.
lo-fi nirvana meets alice in chains
not that you're ready to appreciate it but
youtube.com
Post links then
you sound broke
made a bunch of shitty Sup Forums albums
ie bruv can't make music so he has to meme
probably far right too
whoops
watterson - feel good forever (idk if it counts, some really gazey parts)
husbands - promise (gazey knapsack)
eva luna - strange waltz (probably the best of the three, weird and dark, only posted like twice)
blue hole - neon clouds (it's a grower if you haven't heard it yet)
graduated, got a dank job
( ^^: OK bub
3.30 adv. on RYM
I actually found an Eye Candy interview, they sound autistic
cityslikker.net
>3.30 on RYM
That's a shit score though
It's OK man don't get angry
worked on three Sup Forums albums (one was tdop, one was the aborted david bowie cover album, and one is still being worked on)
released an ep, and I'm working on a full length release, which already has a couple singles
im doin aight
Dont be offended that you lack musical prowess. Im just sure nobody would appreciate me shilling my music outside of sc/bc threads
Some of the albums people made from about a year or so ago during that phase where people sampled youtube videos with less than 20 views were interesting. Pic related.
quizmve.bandcamp.com
How was working on the death of pablo like?
Stop shilling your trash
yeah, your albums were the best out of the whole deep internet thing
it was really interesting, because it was done in such a short amount of time that we kinda had to just go with whatever came first, almost like a stream of consciousness approach to music. I had to mix the album together by the end of it, and searching through the threads and trying to figure out how to mix all these independent/unrelated fragments into somewhat cohesive songs was tough but pretty rewarding. idk it was cool man
i haven't even touched my fl studio in years (in fact it's not even installed on my new pc yet). i occasionally consider getting back into it but i probably would have to relearn everything at this point and i was already pretty terrible when i was in practice so it's hard to find motivation.
yeah sure but we all know you used Decim8 to make those shit album covers
If you don't have time for any hobbies your job is working you into the ground and you're going to regret wasting your entire life. Change course while you still can.
It does take skills and just as, if not more importantly good ideas to make something good and interesting.
Hint: That's why lots of it is boring. This goes for most genres.
until this happens, there hasn't been any true Sup Forums-gaze
>on rym
Hahhahahahahhahahhahahhahajajhajajjahahahjahahahjajajajjajajajaj
So, are those albums (OP's pic) actually made by people who browse Sup Forums?
I made three full length albums this year, two of them pic related. I really liked Seance though, not my album of the year, but it is high up there, considering that 2017 hasn't been a stellar year for music so far at least for me.
Also good recs
