it was an arc

everybody gets an arc

Honestly, can this really even be called rape?

>tfw you watch it again and realise it was her Ex Husband who orchestrated it

>tfw you realise ghosts are real in the sopranos universe

I mean it only lasted like 20 seconds, but i don't get the point of it happening.

exploring morality and ethics, she had a choice to have her rapist destroyed by Tony and chose not to

its like real life
1 out of every women are raped
the rest aren't all that good looking so who cares

Those legs would drive anyone.

are you joking with me my friend
it's very obvious that she's supposed to battle her own morals on whether she's going to get tony to get the justice the system robbed her off

And where did that decision take her? what was the point of showing the viewer that.

"im gonna make a scene where a character gets raped and doesnt tell anybody then everything moves on as normal and it is never brought up again"

Really makes you think

>It's a Ralphie episode

its too deep men, this is the best series ever so its normal nobody can explain that

woah fuck, never noticed. thats fucked. did the son know and thats why he never talked to the dad again after the rape. he figured it all out

You are supposed to ask yourself what you would do in that context, did you really not get that?

He was still on the streets too. She acted like the moral high ground was to not have Tony completely destroy him, but the guy got away with it and could rape another innocent woman at some point.

I don't even know why i love him so much.

Based Ralphie

>1 out of every women are raped
What a scary figure. Goddamn rape culture.

Was Creepy staircase man in the Livia wake episode also a ghost?

epic facebook meme friend very funny and ironic hehe good chuckle one up vote and a cookie for you kind sir

because it was fucking hot

Ralphie was a loose cannon but was killed off way too early. Who knows what more hijinx he had in store?

ask myself that why? Im never gonna have mod ties to someone who could destroy someone who i didnt like. Its one of those 2deep4you things isn't it, where really simple uninteresting things are some how interesting because your parents loved you too much

I think it was a representation of his father. Can't remember when but he mentions that his father always hate the music his mother played. Which is why he goes back upstairs when it plays

Chase intended it as a rebuke to the audience. You want Melfi to tell Tony so he whacks the guy, but she does the moral thing and chooses not to. So you're left to question what and why you want to see on a television series

Her character went nowhere the whole fucking series. What were they thinking? What a waste.

>moral
Thats not moral at all, hes just going to rape more people and its more moral to take care of it. fucking white people tier thinking user.

jesus christ do you think literally every scene has to tie into a climactic event?

Learn2characterbuilding.

>it's moral to let rapists roam free

Classic Satan.

>What was the point of her getting raped ?
I think it was when the guy's dick went in.

>would you choose revenge or make peace
you dumb motherfucker

the thing is, they build shit up and it stops and fizzles out and usually their characters do to, they just end whenever chase feels like it and serve no intelligent meaning

moral as in not engaging in vigilantism

BS. Explain.

IT'S AH RAPE-TIREMENT CUMMUNITY

and thats immoral in this case why? jesus is that what they teach you in school user. "if someone hurts you and will most likely hurt other people and the police wont help then dont do anything and let him hurt more people and do as he likes, remember kids justice is immoral"

except paulie

What was the point of her character at all after Livia died?

Know who had an arc?

fuck this horse whispering shit

Lorraine Bracco?
More like Lauren BRONCO AMIRITE??????????

What do you even mean when you say "point"?

Ey, ya betta watch your mouf

I would just let her get on top and stick it in, then make no up-and-down motion but rather just squeeze me with her thighs rhythmically until I spurted.

HEH HEH HEH HEH

like ya gotta tick or sumthin

So I could cum.

I don't understand the meaning of the scene, i understand that they were trying to show that she's the better person, because she didn't tell tony, but i feel that there should be more to it.

Maybe it was just for "shock" value, but the scene wasn't shocking enough, she got punched in the head once and humped for 15 seconds.

I'm not sure you could be more dense if you tried. Expecting a point beyond a depiction of life, people, and their struggles and triumphs, assures that the "point" will elude you. Art is about communicating ideas and emotions, and if you watch something and expect it to gift wrap a platitude for you most good art will probably be lost on you. The point was that this shit happens and people have to deal with it, which enriched the world they made, and showing how Melfi dealt with it illuminated her character.

By meaning you mean the symbolism behind it?

I was waiting for the conclusion where she finally caved and asked Tony to fuck the guy up, but it was all just one big cocktease to show how she didn't want to get involved in any of the mobster shit whatsoever, even when it was extremely tempting to

Kind of lame

Yeah, my bad, i'm not the best at expressing myself in english.

If you think that's lame then stick to breaking bad.

Not sure if this is true at all.

That was actually character development well done.
She kept her cool to the end of the series. Telling Tony was the easiest way and, at the same time, the hardest, because she would get more involved to Tony and the mob.

>You shouldn't take justice into your own hands when the failings of the legal system lead to blatant injustice, that would be wrong

t. numale

She took the job of being a mobsters shrink because she wanted to get away from her spoiled life and see some of the worlds darkness. And then she got raped, she got her own taste of darkness, she WANTED this to happen to her, it's why she always walked alone to her vehicle every night. She loved it.

Well if that's the case, I think you're making a mistake out the door. Not everything is a symbol in art, and to require it to be puts a limitation on it that shouldn't exist. I said it before, but that episode is making the world they were writing more true to life, because people do get raped all the time, and watching Melfi deal with it speaks to her character.

She should have gone to Tony. Now the serial rapist is free to do it again when he should be dead. The next victim is her fault.

the fuck yall talking about creepy staircase guy

Getting my dick hard.

...

For the audience to self-insert.

I mean, wouldn't you?

What's wrong with enjoying good old fashioned justice porn?

When Tony's mother dies, everyone gathers at Tony's house. When Janice has everyone form a circle to share a feeling about Olivia, a guys comes down the stairs from the upstairs bedrooms and goes back up.

Watch the scene over if you can.
