Unholy mix of English, Dutch, Scottish, Scotch Irish, and Welch for the rest.

English side started with a merchant that supported William the Bastard's invasion, was actually from Genoa, with some Greek Byzantine trader mixed in.

German and Scottish, but my family first came here is the last 1600s so in all reality im just American. My mom has copies of the land deeds for that first generation. They grew tobacco on 9 acres near modern day Baltimore. And when the father died, he gave 2 slaves and 2 acres to each son. He gave his wife 3 slaves, the house, and 1 acre. Really awesome to have something from that time in their own handwriting

Irish, Scandinavian, maybe a bit of other. Blonde with red beard.
It depends on the part of the U.S. you come from for white folks.
Like in the Texas hill country, there is a ton of German. East coast is more of a mix. So on.

Very true. For example parts of Pennsylvania were nearly 100% German for 200+ years (IE Germantown PA, though it is nearly 80% black today)

Another interesting chunk of the US is Minnesota where there is a disproportionate number of Scandinavians

Swiss, British, Czech, Irish, Scottish, Polish, Native American, and more. I'm an American mongrel, and glad of it. Don't feel like dragging out the family tree and listing all of the countries...

Found this googling. Good description of the American genome:

Male 50% swedish 50% Norwegian. We have been in the usa for a long time as far as post viking whites.

Anybody know why the Italians, Spaniards have dark hair?
Black Moors raped it into 'em.
Not being racist. Look this shit up.

Like the guys above me said, it really depends on what part of the US you are from and if your family did or did not move around. There are entire areas of the south where the people are essentially 100% German or 100% Irish because of where the enclaves set up, and families not moving outside a 1-3 mile radius for 300 years. Yes, there are parts of the American south where the Irish and Germans are actually more Irish and German than the people living in modern Ireland and Germany

There is a saying in Tennessee hill country that "we are the purest in the world", and it is actually fairly true

Male

Various European selectively bred for awesomeness

That is a massive myth. The Moors didnt get much further than southern Spain and the toe of Italy. Ibearians have been dark skinned and haired since the time of Plato. For Sicilians the Moor myth is slightly true, but for most Italians in southern Italy mixing with Greeks is the main reason. Northern Italians are light skinned and often have light brown hair and blue eyes.

Chicago and Midwest is way more German than the south

>the Italians
You can tell you've never been to Italy. There are mostly brown haired and blondes in Italy. You even see lots of red/auburn haired girls.

Im not saying the numbers are higher, the Germans and Irish in the south, like most southern families, never moved outside their ethnic enclaves. Northerners and coast families tended to move around and live in larger cities with more diversity. You would be hard pressed to find too many northern city residents today that dont have half a dozen or more nationalities in their family tree. At the same time, its not hard to find entire towns and regions of the rural south where residents are 100% a single nationality.

1/4 Entirely Greek

1/4 UK (Irish/English/Scottish/who knows)

I take #16 please

Same with Spartan Greek.

Our family is spartan greek, we're all 6' tall with blue eyes. Even the little old ladies from the greek orthodox church look at me and my sister and go "are you spartan?"

It was a whole different wave of migration into the area. Entirely different group of people that looked completely different like 1000 years apart.

No matter what your background is the furthest relation you can have from anyone on the planet is 5th cousins. Scientific fact. Look it up.
