Which sport has the most arbitrary (most-rigging) officials

Which sport has the most arbitrary (most-rigging) officials

My vote goes to football

It's basketball and it isn't up for debate.

It's basketball you fucking retard.

My fellow Americans, have you even watched a single game of Baseball?

Apehoop is extremely easy to rig. A ref got put in prison for rigging like 10 years ago, and he wrote a book exposing the Nba

basketball. there may as well not even be rudimentary guidelines. it's borderline wwe tier entertainment given the level of parity in the league and how the most basic rules don't stringently apply to good players and teams

Basketball for sure, you can hit a star player with 2 or 3 fouls early on and increase the other team's chances by a shit ton.

Basketball and it's not even close. It's literally up to what the refs feel like calling and players can be ejected for almost nothing

Bearded pops is a much more arbitrary coach than shaved pops

Apehoop.

Officials have been jailed for rigging games and retired officials have written books claiming the same.

The league even meets with refs before the game showing video clips of which fouls they want "emphasized".

It's definitely basketball by a mile.

Been watching since '96. Umps can make errors, but it doesn't come anywhere close to the sort of arbitrary rigging you see in basketball.

>inb4 muh strike zone

Refs literally choose who wants to win in basketball.

Football.

A hold can be called (or chosen to be not called) at any single play. This includes touchdowns, punt returns, field goals, or turnovers. That can swing momentum at any given point. You can't challenge a hold. Not to mention all the other calls they can make like pass interference or hands to the face.

1. Apehoop. The sport is literally designed to give refs the power to completely control the game. Doesn't help that penalties are encouraged unlike any other sport.
2. Football. Penalties happen every single play so they get to arbitrarily choose when to call them.
Power gap between these two and the rest is too great to even list them

this. the only major blunder baseball has in recent is the Galarraga blown perfect game. meanwhile, basketball and football seem to have those blown calls several times a week.

i think it's time to start using robot refs. we have all this technology in the world today yet no one has ever come up with robot refs

>Galarraga blown perfect game

oh fuck you for reminding me of that

Pablo Torre, you are not welcome here. Go back

once you step down as commish, Roger

Clearly the hour matter, but American sports are very clean compared to the rest of the world.

Soccer is the clear winner by all definitions of the term "winner", from where the world cup is held (Qatar over the USA for instance) to the World Cup itself, to random third division South American matches, soccer is so easily fixed and is. It's not even close

At least with basketball there is some logic to their calls, in soccer it's just so fucking obvious.

At least with soccer, a blown call comes with the risk of quartering or beheading. Here it just gets a high-five from the commissioner of the league

>Implying beheadings are legal in Europe

Don't fall for Sup Forums memes

you can still get stoned and no, not the good kind

basketball.

a ref literally got his head stuck on a pike by crazed south american fans a couple years ago

The ref murdered someone prior to that happening though, familia. Let's keep some context here. Sure the lynching was extreme but he brought it upon himself.

They all do. Can't you tell they all wear similar uniforms and theres always a jew watching them at all times?

Basketball, football, baseball. I know nothing about hockey.

Basketball is changing slowly though, the nfl also. Baseball is shit though, they are still sticking to old ass shit. With basketball they are slowly changing some rules/

hockey
(refs suck)

They thing is, you only need to rig one or two plays in football/soccer cause its a low scoring game. Basketball needs more work if you want to rig it

In complete honesty, hockey refs are by far the best. They tend to have a "let them play" first mentality which is actually really good for the game. At the high speeds and movement they do surprisingly well. They don't mind giving explanations and often converse with captains.

Also the way they do fights is great too. They know when a fight should happend or when to break it up.

Anyhow, my vote is for football. The refs are a joke. The calls are incredulous and they have a ridiculous amount of impact on the game.

Pic very much related op

Basketball and handball

You mean apart from the good player defense that all refs do. And the fucking no calls on slashings.

like jesus fuck Sid is a protected species.

Amateur ref here, basketball by a mile.

What ambiguous decisions are there in basketball? Nearly every single play in football has holding or PI that could be called

Soccer rigging consists of putting a team down to 10 men as quickly as possible or in a late stage of the game to set up an 11 on 10 attack the entire time.

At 1-1 or 1-0 it's almost impossible not to concede a goal.

We've also all seen the stupid "mistakes" goalies make in pro futbol

cricket pre drs and it's not close

>2002 WCF

African handball.
Bad calls in football are more noticeable but over the course of a game ape hoop is the worst.
