Surf music!
I have been getting really into surf music. Anyone else here have recommendations? New stuff would be awesome. Instrumental is best.
Thanks

King Ghidora - Best west coast surf band I know.
Love that Daikaiju and the Mermen are on this.
Really underrated album imo
Excellent.
What's some good surf rock that has a sort of halloween/spooky sound to it?
Sort of like this youtu.be
Red Elvises. Closest I can think of.

I'm glad you fucking asked.
Couple of my favourites:
Allah Las
Beach Towels
Cheater Slicks
Dead Ghosts
Dick Dale
The Garrys
The Growlers
Guantanamo Baywatch
Messer Chups
New Candys
Night Beats
Power Buddies
The Ramonetures (Ramones covers done Ventures style)
Real Estate
Shannon and the Clams
Wavves
Thanks, man. Saved that list.
Seen two Oregon bands in this thread - Guantanamo Baywatch and King Ghidora.
Guantanamo Baywatch are fun as fuck live, they came here (Calgary) 2 years ago. Were gonna be here in May but had to cancel unfortunately.
The Ghastly Ones - A Haunting We Will Go Go
I love them!
Playing shows in Canada can be a bitch. I have been stopped at the border many times for various silly reasons. Once they tried to make us throw away all the merch when returning to the US.
Check out Los Straitjackets-- one of the guys in the band is a close friend of my family's; their music rocks too. They're also a favorite of Conan O'Brien.
I would also recommend Daikaiju. Both bands build off the classic surf sound in really creative ways.

James Wisley was the guitar player for Chris Isaak in his popular years
Yummy Svetlana of Messer Chups.
Never heard James Wilsey solo. Awesome! Kind of reminds me of The Blue Stingrays (basically The Heartbreakers without Tom Petty)
I first saw Daikaiju with King Ghodora in Portland.
As far as I am concerned Daikaiju's "Phase 2" is a near a perfect surf album.
