I'm saying both categories might be "porous". If that's not the reason, it could be any number of endogenous factors, including but not limited to, incomplete dispersion of Northern European genes within the "black" population. A great many slaves brought out of Africa have mixed with other populations. Many whites are also mixed, both with non-Europids and other Europids. Whiteness is a modern made-up category; there are differences between continental populations.
