ITT: Games with great storylines. Also, what games would Sup Forums recommend for a guy who has enjoyed the Bioshock and Silent Hill franchises?
ITT: Games with great storylines. Also...
Wolfenstein: The New Order for the story
Alien Isolation for the the intensity/horror feeling
if you liked bioshock you really should play system shock 2
Borderlands 2 if you like the RPG aspects of Bioshock
DeusEx HR/MD, Dishonored 1/2.
System shock 2 is too old. Poor graphics.
OP here. Poor graphics aren't really a big issue for me. The bigger problem is that I play on a relatively shitty laptop, so I have a higher risk of getting low fps with newer games, which is a bummer.
COD: Ghosts story line was actually half decent,
same with arma, arma had a better seamless gameplay tho
but if you like the fantasy element of it the fallout series are defiantly good especially the earlier ones
+1 to that
system shock was good too,
Lego: Jurassic World
Dead Space 1 & 2 were good.
darksouls prepare to die edition
Played Dark Souls: PtDE and Dark Souls: Scholar of The First Sin. Really enjoyed the first DS. The second one was okay. Wish I could play Demon's Souls and DS III, but I don't have a console, nor a good enough computer to be able to run DS III.
have you played any condemned?
Haven't tried any of the games in the series.
i recommend super creepy detective spoops
going to chip in again with a few more
RTS:
Grey Goo, westwood studio's new company petroglyph games, follows that old style RTS like command and conquer and warcraft startcraft etc
if you havnt eplored RTS definaly reccomend trying
Command and Conquer: red alert 1 and 2
Command and counquer generals and zerohour
Command and conquer Tiberian Sun,
Startcraft 1 and 2 and expansions
Warcraft 1, 2, 3 and expansions
8bit series, cheep but not as good as the above, but same kind of flavour
dont really bother with any of the command and conquer series after generals, at that point they sold their title to EA games and it went to shit
RPG:
fallout series
Diablo series
crafting/survival
space engineers
rust
7 days to die (get it cheep youll get bored of it)
subnautica
the fith day (get it cheep youll get bored of it)
Beseige
space sim:
x series, x3, x4 albion prelude
MMO
Star track online
Runescape
World of warcraft
oh
and metro 2033 and red faction had some awesome storylines
there's supposed to be punctuation there
oh shit
and mass effect
smashin aliens
Might give it a try, thanks for the suggestion.
The Evil Within is good if you're feeling horror
Play Half Life, the original from 1998. It's incredibly well made and you get used to the graphics quite fast. And it's way harder and more challenging than the second one.
Also +1 for Dishonored and Metro 2033 as mentioned.
great storylines....baldurs gate 1 and 2
If you like Adventure Games I would recommend Monkey Island 1 to 3.
Fallout 1,2 and New Vegas are great
Planescape Torment has a cool story
Gothic 1 and 2, very immersive games
Haven't really tried RTS before. Might try Command and Conquer or Starcraft, and see how I like it. Thanks for the amazing list.
Played it several times. Also played HL2 plus the 2 episodes. Overall a good series. Still waiting for HL3.
Metro 2033 Redux
It's got enough atmosphere to fuckin choke you.
red alert 2 or generals is the most intuitive and more warefare like
warcraft 3 is probably the best if your into the whole orks elves and knights stuff
black mesa was a good remake
i still play HL2:DM on occasion
Wtf no Witcher series mentioned yet?
Soma.
GTA5
I know your feel.
I can barely run any of the games that everyone tells me I should get.
Dishonored feels somewhat a lot like Bioshock.
Bioshock Infinite is what got me into the franchise. The story is amazing and ties up some loose ends.
Call of Juarez Gunslinger had amazing story telling, if you like the whole wild west, legendary gunslinger and clint eastwood vibe.
Of course, with that the best wild west game ever made comes to mind, Red Dead Redemption, if you have an xbox.
If you can run it, Assassin's Creed Black Flag has an amazing story. If you're turned off because of Ass Creed, don't worry about that, cause Black Flag feels nothing like an Assassin's Creed game.
If you're invested enough, Dark Souls has an amazing lore. The game just won't tell you through narative. You gotta look for hints.
Pretty much this
yeah man!
those dudes dont know shit bout gaming.
Farming Sim 17, brothers! best story ever!
You never know how much Crops you get, always an Adenture!
Bloodborne
