If extraterrestrial life was found in our galaxy and Earth was
invited to join the Milky Way Galactic Federation. Would
Globalization of Earth be essential? would Nationalism work in such a
scenario?

Would Sup Forums be willing to morph their culture, race, etc to make sure Earth is seen as "one" kind?

bump faggots, get your asses out of the newfag threads

bump

Actually we wouldn't need to be "seen" to be as one. We would have to become one. Period. Globalization currently is focused on economic relationships, but the globalization required for your scenario would have to be political.

Humans aren't capable of that, yet. That is likely the major reason why we haven't been contacted as a species by extraterrestrial intelligence. We can barely keep ourselves from murdering eachother over our petty differences. Imagine what our relationship would be like with aliens. Dysfunctional to say the least.

Nice thought though.

As we have astronauts we have become extraterrestrial. /thread.

We can't even leave the solar system....space traveling aliens would not give two fucks about us

The fact that people still see their "race" as a united people is reason
enough for aliens not wanting anything to do with us, we are a
ticking time bomb, cant even take care of our own earth

I dunno but I guarantee that white women would fuck them

>That is likely the major reason why we haven't been contacted as a species by extraterrestrial intelligence

That and being a species that's never stepped beyond its own moon, going round on an outer spiral arm at 40,000 miles an hour of a galaxy we call the milky way. We're thirty thousand light years from galactic central point. We go round once every 200,000,000 years. Our galaxy is one of millions of billions in this amazing and expanding universe.

But seriously. Fermi paradox. There's nothing alive out there. The great filter awaits, and we squabble like children.

Beyond us, there is a universe of nothing.

We are the first.

If we fail, there will not be another to rise.

>be stuck watching earth
>another day another monkey fight
>monkeys finally create internet
>bring advanced alien shitposting skills against them
>release kek and meme president
>oops, too stronk. meme wins
>gonna get fired for this shit
>start nudging for ww3, king of the ring, to cover up evidence

>There's nothing alive out there
With over 200 billion stars in the Milky Way and over 200 billion galaxies in the observable universe, there is absolutely other life out there. Now can we contact each other, hell no space is too big and like you basically said we haven't even left our solar system

Claiming that we are the only living organisms is
intellectually dishonest.

But we might as well be alone in this universe
because of our lack of effective space travel and overall lack in space knowledge.

>A giant has no care for ants

>But seriously. Fermi paradox. There's nothing alive out there. The great filter awaits, and we squabble like children

implying that the statistics are a lie, so you don't conider that in one galxy of the millions of billions in this universe can't hold life in any form?

* with no evidence, we can only hope there is other life out there
* even if there is, it took literally billions of years for life to accidentally become multicellular life on our planet. odds are even if its out there, other life never makes this step
* we're the only species that has both intelligence and tool use and the madness needed to work at a meta level
* dinosaurs ruled the world for hundreds of millions of years. never advanced. not a single fucking toaster or written tablet from their time here
* we're unique, and should we fail, the universe will be an empty crystal

>implying the statistics are anything but numbers representing hopefulness

"Two possibilities exist: either we are alone in the Universe or we are not. Both are equally terrifying"

And lets not forget that time is relative.
1 Second on earth could literally be the entire life span of a highly
advanced species trillions of light years away from us

100% life existed or exists else where is the universe

It is Statistically impossible for there to be not. Say you get a hundred sided dice roll per year since the universe existed per star and to make life happen you need to roll a number three time in a row. The chances are decent for the Milky Way alone. The scale is what fucks us, we can see or communicate with anyone because of scale. Our radio signals, which are being red shifted, are only like 100 light years out. No way meaningful messages can be transmitted

>* we're the only species that has both intelligence and tool use and the madness needed to work at a meta level
Lol, really?
Chimps, monkeys, otters, crows, and birds use tools, ants have domesticated aphids

nice trips btw.
