What made these two characters the only likable stronk womyn? Is it the fact their sex doesn't come up in conversation at all?

Their goals were to saves lives not to make a public statement.

Ripley was written as a man.

Sarah Connor is what happens when a woman gets so shell shocked by a traumatic event that she has one of two options, fight back or retreat into herself, Sarah chooses the former.

What's interesting is that it somewhat backfires on her and while strong she's become so single minded and determined that she loses some of her humanity, best example of this is when she goes to assassinate Dyson, a mirror of when the Terminator attacks both her and Reese.

Boys love their mommies, and these are all about the failures of these women as mothers and their eventual redemption as mothers. That's why they are so popular with guys.

There's no logical consistency to it, it's simply that they were made a long time ago. If these movies were released today, the alt right's river of tears would drown out forums and youtube comments alike. If you even suggest otherwise, you are beyond deluded.

Ripley has no character though.

The only quality I can attribute to her is pragmatism.

Why would the alt-right have problems with these characters in 2016 when most would actually agree they're good characters?

>Love for her son.
>Love of family.
>Love for her dead lover.
>Paranoia
>Traumatization
>Callousness
>Spiritedness

plz be trolling.

You don't know me or my mom, don't you dare say anything bad about her.

>son

Nigga, we're talking about Ripley. And Alien 3 and 4 don't count.

Because they wouldn't agree they're good characters, they would cry about how they're bringing upon the end times through the feminist agenda. How long did it take before alt-right SJWs stopped crying about Furiosa, a far better written character than either Ripley or Sarah Connor?

>Furiosa better written than Ripley or Sarah Connor

McFuckin' kill yourself.

>Why would they cry about it?
>"Because they would cry about it in the current year"

See how that doesn't answer my question?

>Alien starts
>waaah there's too many womyn on this spacecraft! Why are there weak womyn on a mining mission into deep space! and blacks too, this is propaganda race mixing cuck nu male libtard c-c-c-c- nu nu nu lii i iibb

>Ripley refuses to let Kane back on the ship
>waah a womyn would never have the mental fortitude to make a hard call like this! she'd just go with her emotions! the jews are trying to brainwash us into thinking womyn can womyn womyn womyn cuck nu male!

You don't even have to guess at it, you can just place existing neckbeard complaints directly into those movies.

What in the fuck are you talking about? Don't you have some Records to Correct?

Way to bring the conversation into retarded territory.

because 90% of Sup Forums believes that liberalism magically took hold in 2008 and everything before then was some magical time with no racial or political tensions. They've only started looking at things through an ideological lens recently and don't realize that the same criticisms of culture that they're making now have always been around.

It's the reason you get retarded threads talking about things like how Tropic Thunder would never get made today because SJW's took over, when there was plenty of controversy over it back when it was made but they just don't remember. Same with token black characters all the way back to the 80's, but because they grew up with those movies they don't notice these things and just assume it was what the writers wanted and not a political decision

Thanks for Correcting the Record.

You can leave now.

Do you realize how mentally ill you have to be to be this dishonest? Do you realize how funny it is to actual humans that you can't stop saying "correcting the record" like a brain dead meme spammer while complaining about posts referencing your own behavior? The behavior you're exhibiting right now? Moments like this can only happen when a Sup Forums poster is involved. You're the only people on Earth that are this stupid.

Do you realize how mentally ill you have to be to make a unfounded claims and go off on random tangents?

what are some strong female film characters written in the last 10 years?

>unfounded claims

archive.4plebs.org/tv/search/text/"stronk womyn"/

>anonymous posts
>it's obviously the alt-right boogeymen

You tried.

The Bride

>what are some strong female film characters written in the last 10 years?

Vera Farmiga in Running Scared

>just a blue collar mom looking for her son and his friend and stumbles into a creepy pedophile snuff den

Her reaction is 100% solid.

>people so butthurt that they start threads on Sup Forums about how much female characters trigger them
>not alt-right
If someone makes a thread about how there aren't enough good female roles in Hollywood they're probably a feminist. If someone makes a thread about how there's too many women in movies, they're probably alt-right. How hard is this to follow

Didn't like either. It's hard to like characters that are unbelievable.

>Running Scared

it's shit

>I started a thread about how much females trigger me

Where in the OP did I say any of this? Most male characters aren't even that well written either if you haven't noticed.

Good female characters are rare because most people don't know how to write a good female character without overloading on her sex and being a strong independent female who don't need no men.

There's another good one.

They are mothers. Women are the strongest and most ruthless if they have something they want to protect.

All Ripley had to protect was a cat, but I guess it works since the cat was basically a symbol for her daughter.

But I'd argue Ripley is still a good character regardless if she was a mother or not.

I like Emily Blunt in pretty much every action role she's done.

>being a strong independent female who don't need no men

You define this as "woman doing anything" though. And then you add "except if Ripley or Sarah Connor did it" for the sake of appearing like you're not doublethinking SJWs at your very core. I must have seen thousands of posts alone on the scene where Max has Furiosa fire a gun off his shoulder and how that was feminist propaganda, even though it's an objective, indisputable fact of reality that it is indeed physically possible for a woman to have more training and practice firing a specific gun than a man.

Ripley is the sole survivor on a ship mainly full of men. Is it really possible that you are so dishonest that you could claim that if Alien were released today, it wouldn't be cried about non-stop? On that point ALONE it would be dismissed out of hand as "stronk womyn feminist jewish propaganda!"

both of them started as weak pussies

>only likable stronk womyn

that's not Xena

Another good one.

Someone going through a crucible is always a good story, I think that's key in a stronk female role.

Sorry to break it to you, but men and women are completely different specimens. What works for a male character wont necessarily work for a female character.

You did say:

>It's the reason you get retarded threads talking about things like how Tropic Thunder would never get made today because SJW's took over, when there was plenty of controversy over it back when it was made but they just don't remember.

So what exactly are you trying to say? The controversy is always there and always coming from different people, but all of a sudden in the current year it's the alt-right boogeyman?

What are you talking about? Evenis a great character and it's less than two years old.

I like the characters, the year when they're made and the political climate doesn't weigh in on my opinion of them. I'd consider myself alt-right.

Literally the best actress of all time, fucking gorgeous too.

>he only likable stronk womyn?
Because you're projecting, you hate your own life so much that the only reasonable female characters you can think of come from before you were even born.

Did you just completely miss my other posts?

Ellen and Sarah are the top dogs of strong female roles, I've already stated there are numerous other strong female characters like Emily Blunt's character in EoT.

But nope, ignore all that I'm just a racist sexist homophobic transphobic alt-right Trump supporter.

>So what exactly are you trying to say? The controversy is always there and always coming from different people, but all of a sudden in the current year it's the alt-right boogeyman?
no, I'm saying the alt-right only views current movies as political works and thinks everything in the past was magically free of studio interference and cultural pressure. Pretty much every 80's and 90's action movie has a black sidekick but those movies are considered "classics" now so they don't look at Danny Glover in Lethal Weapon the same way as a black actor today

Haven't seen alien, but I always liked sarah connor because she could act tough without looking ridiculous. Most "strong women" nowadays look ridiculous, it's like trying to sell a little kid as a badass. It's got nothing to do with "motherhood" and all that bullshit. They're just good at selling the idea that they're tough, which is what an actor should be able to do
Seriously, look at this. Look at it. It's pathetic, it fucking hurts to watch. That's not tough, it looks like a little fucking kid acting like he's proper 'ard

You're bringing up the alt-right when the conversation isn't about the alt-right.

Who comes into threads like this and go all out with the political bullshit we hear every fucking day from you cretins? Every thread on Sup Forums has some dickweed like you complaining about a group that isn't even a organized ideology when the original topic has NOTHING to do with it.

>because 90% of Sup Forums believes that liberalism magically took hold in 2008

Wrong. 90% of Sup Forums would say leftism took control in the early 60s, and they'd be mostly right. You can make an argument it took control earlier than that.

>It's the reason you get retarded threads talking about things like how Tropic Thunder would never get made today because SJW's took over

Tropic Thunder probably wouldn't get made today. Just because some young people don't know how far gone it was already when they were kids doesn't mean it isn't worse now than it was then.

Your post seems to be a critique of young people, not the altright.

...

>>how Tropic Thunder would never get made today because SJW's took over, when there was plenty of controversy
No green haired special snowflake was verbal shitting on RDJ and demanding his blacklist, the movie was a commercial success and no one boycotted it, no one called it """cultural appropriation""" or """racist""".

Thank you for

Correcting

The

Record

Of course there were those people. You were just too young to remember.

I think it had something to do that they were both kind of ugly. Ugly is the wrong word to describe them, homely maybe? They're not super models. Now when they put a woman in a role she has to be at least an 8 or 9/10. I can buy that these chicks would exist. I can buy that they'd be bad ass. And I buy that they don't wear make up, have tit jobs, or any of that. They had flaws in their looks as well as their characters. They were believable.

Both Ellen and Connor are kind of androgynous.

The better question is why Cameron ruined them with his mommy bullshit.

Alien Ripley and T1 Connor are good female characters. Aliens Ripley and T2 Connor or men with vaginas.

Kind of, it's still not the word I'm looking for. idk, it's not important. It's not like we're ever going back. There's literally a 0% chance a girl with looks below an 8 is getting a lead role ever again. Kinda sad.

I was 17 shithead

Rita Vrataski, Judge Anderson, and Mako Mori come to mind when i think of likable stronk womyn

kek oh sorry I didn't read your whole thought out manifesto posts about female characters fucking dipshit.

The chick from It Follows is about a 6 or 7. Remember Alien was a horror movie.

Both Weaver and Hamilton were considered very attractive for their times. It's just times changed.

I know what you're saying though. The characters look like real people as opposed to dolled up celebrities.

Because motherhood is the biggest and most important attribute to the entire sex, and a lot of female and males for that matter and identify with that.

That chick was a believable character, but I wouldn't call her strong in any way.

And I get you weren't talking about her strongness, just wanted to make that point.

Pragmatism and trying to make ends meet is infinitely more relatable than, "look at me I am STEM! Girl power!"

>Almost typed out a response detailing how these people are wrong and stupid
>Remember you'd be smarter than them if you were in a coma, and it would be like teaching a dog to speak
>Remember that everyone on Sup Forums is at the educational level of a 5 year old at best and seriously believes their feelings are facts
>Remember that these people are so brainwashed that they use the same buzzwords and loaded alt-right political rhetoric in every thread, and then accuse people who tell them to go back to their idiot hugbox Sup Forums of "politicizing the thread"

Just to recap, you got angry because some people can rub two brain cells together and figure out that you're from Sup Forums because you always post the same retarded doublethink bullshit and cancerize every single thread on every board on the site. And yes, it's just a coincidence that everyone's twitter, youtube video and article comments are being spammed with the same neo-nazi propaganda using the same neckbeard memes topped off with a whole bunch of "cuck, nu-male, ((( )))." Remember, if you're smart enough to correlate any information at all, such as a group of extremist right-wing inbred morons who love to use the same 5 buzzwords (because they have poor vocabularies, but don't worry, i didn't notice that either), you're just a libtard nu male cuck!

I can't wait until you obnoxious shitcunts gain enough false confidence to start spouting your cringe off the internet, and we hear of a string of incidents: "manchildren making chicken noises -- get their teeth kicked in."

I'll re-phrase. Any "major motion picture" wouldn't cast a perceived ugly woman as it's lead (unless it's le comedy). Honestly, the closest thing to a stronk wooman wid powah is Viola Davis in the DCEU.

It's whatever man. I don't really see movies in theatres anymore. Supporting them feels bad to me on all levels, I'm just a loser now.

You just replied to possibly four entirely different people.

I actually have a third really likable stronk wommun.

Fucking love Black Mamba, never see her brought up in conversation either.

>Because motherhood is the biggest and most important attribute to the entire sex,

No, it isn't. People like you are why there are no good, strong female characters.

>I can't wait until you obnoxious shitcunts gain enough false confidence to start spouting your cringe off the internet, and we hear of a string of incidents: "manchildren making chicken noises -- get their teeth kicked in."

Spoken like a true leftist. You people make me sick to my stomach sometimes knowing the fact my child is going to have to grow up in a world dictated by your bullshit.

You people would just LOVE to have Soviet styled gulags to house your political prisoners.

Wow, that sure in an argument.

So what are some bigger attributes you can apply to females other than motherhood?

It's quite literally their life function and their entire sex revolves around men.

>inb4 SEXIST SHITLORD

Most likely 2 or 3 pol kiddies.I saw the posts, anyone can tell they're pol as fuck.

they had flaws and they were relatable

They were written as characters that happened to be women, not as stronk womyn. They have flaws and character development, unlike the Mary Sues that populate movies nowadays.

>Beatrix
>likable
Bruh she got everyone rekt in El Paso. All she had to do was not be a dumpass and go home with Bill. He probably would have killed them all anyway, but she didn't care/was too dumb to notice.

>p-people have different opinions than me!

That's true for Ripley in Alien, debatable with Aliens. Same goes for Connor in T1 but definitely not in T2.

She was written as a strong womyn because the events of the previous film made her that way.

>"""alt-right"""
>>manchildren making chicken noises -- get their teeth kicked in."
ok let them try

The zootopia rabbit

Self-preservation, pragmatism and survival. In other words, pretty much the reason Ripley in Alien was a good character.

You might as well boil a man's contribution down to shooting out semen.

>inb4 sex shitlord

Except you are and spouting that shit doesn't make it less so.

WE HAVE PEOPLE EVERYWHERE

>>p-people have different opinions than me!
Can you post more useless facts to prove how mad you are, pol?

Men are better at more things than shooting semen though. We are pretty great at that though.

>I'm a sexist because I don't conform to the idea that males and females are the same

Whatever you say.

There's a reason why STEM is mostly male dominated when diversity quotes don't exist, and there's a reason the fashion and cosmetic industry is female dominated.

The reason why they're likable is because the characters aren't propped up to start a conversation on stronk womyn. They both get actual character development that justifies them being actual badasses. The movies are framed around them, but not about how they're strong women, just about their experiences that mold them into that. They both have sequels (Directed by the same person, imagine that) where you get to see their development pay off even further, and it's satisfying to see them do badass things and stand on their own after we saw them develop, but at the same time, they're still characters with flaws.

It also helps massively that the actors give great performances.

Most people aren't annoyed with the "strong women" trope because women are strong. They're annoyed because there's an agenda to prop these characters up solely to fill that "strong female" archetype feminists and womyn say they want to see.

They also fit into their worlds very naturally, and you don't ever disbelieve that they have the ability and talent to do the things they do. It doesn't feel forced in any sense.

SJWs and the alt-Right just need to cut the bullshit and fuck already.

I'd watch that porn desu

Starbuck from the RDM Battlestar Galactica is good too, and the character was originally a male.

>fuck

If by start a war with each other, you're in luck.

Right wing revolution is well on it's way.

I don't see Vasquez there. Why for?

They worked because the movies were good. Shitty ACTION GIRL movies make the leads look bad, because they are bad movies. It's the same was watching half of the movies Statham is in, he looks like shit because those movies are garbage.

"Okay guys get this, Jason Statham, AND HE'S A MORALLY GREY ASSASSIN."

Bad ass Latina soldier is too much of a trope.

If this post is true then why did you spend hundreds of thousands of manchild-hours crying about Furiosa? It's really fascinating how rock bottom intellects like those found on Sup Forums enable one to convince themselves of the most asinine bullshit. You're fucking brain dead.

It will last all of a half an hour because the U.S. Military isn't going to come a running to their aid like they would like to believe.

>Bad ass Latina soldier is too much of a trope.

Was she likable?

Was she stronk?

Was she (mostly) a woman?

I rest my case.

Good point user. If they toned down the makeup it would help a lot. This works against men too, like the new kirk who has plush pink dick sucking lips.

I didn't, I liked Furiosa. She was a good character.

Not him but man are you ever projecting.

Furosia is just a lame fucking character. It has nothing to do with her being an woman.

I think you're underestimating the fact that a lot of military personnel will defect for personal differences and the fact they don't want to shoot American citizens.

Everyone is tried of 21st century politics in America, that's why you have your outsiders like Bernie and Trump with a lot more support than the media is going to tell you.

You only have to watch the DNC to understand that this "unity" narrative the Dems are playing isn't true, it's just a lie.

She wasn't likable at all and not just because the character is a trope. It's a woman acting like a man.

The U.S. Military isn't as right wing as most people think. It is just as diverse when it comes to political leanings as the general population. And it wouldn't even have to escalate into a gunfight. As soon as the Military didn't respond to their call to revolution, most of these folks would wind up going home.

>She wasn't likable at all

That like your opinion man. I thought she was cool as a cucumber.

>the character is a trope

Just cause something falls under the umbrella of a "Trope", doesn't make it bad. Putting a title on something isn't an actual argument. You know that, right?

>It's a woman acting like a man.

She acted bad ass.

To clarify she was a good character, but not a great one. I felt like she was just a sort of weaker as a character then Max in hindsight. You understand exactly what Max is going in, and you get to see the other sides of him peak out at certain points in the movie, but Furiosa just suffers from a slightly weaker performance, and wonky character development.

Plus it was weird how she was such a high position in a society where women were either dirt or cattle. That's not really important, though. It just contradicts the plight of the wives a bit.

Ripley had a daughter that died between Alien 1 & 2

>Is it the fact their sex doesn't come up in conversation at all?

Exactly, they were characters not blueprints for political statements + they looked the part and were fit as fuck, which made their toughness more believeable than a chubby scarlett Johansson dancing thousands of men to death.

>the military isn't as right wing as most people think

The US military is usually comprised with twice as many Republicans than Democrats. I don't know what you're basing your information on, but I have anecdotal evidence of the majority of combat personnel having right-wing views, officers are definition another question as well as some factual data.

I was in the Army. And they might have right-wing views but not to the extent that they would rip their ACUs off and go run off to join a revolution against the Government. If shit had gotten that bad, we'd already have faced some kind of insurrection from within the Military.

>Because you're projecting, you hate your own life so much that the only reasonable female characters you can think of come from before you were even born.

That's some grade a tumblr retard reasoning. Barely qualifies as a fallacy, almost being nonsensical rambling

The insurrection will come when the people revolt. Just watch. This has been brewing for a long time and it's probably going to be more chaotic than anything you or myself could imagine.

Except the "People" aren't going to revolt. Just a little minority of crazy people who want to institute their own little Conservative Paradise.

>dancing a thousand men to death

This absolutely kills me. It's ok when you're watching a cyborg/someone with super strength but I just can't believe a 50 kilo anyone(regardless of gender) is going to take down a bunch of dudes twice their weight without taking a tag/breaking a sweat.

It's just plain lazy choreography, if you're gonna have a smaller character who gets into fights, have them use weapons and the environment to their advantage.

She was trying too hard

>and these are all about the failures of these women as mothers and their eventual redemption as mothers.
ok, explain?

>The US military is usually comprised with twice as many Republicans than Democrats.

That means it's a third lefty. That's about my recollection of the service. Most people think it's 95% right though. So, that dude's kind of right.

...

>just a minority

Whatever you want to believe man. The United States is going to be balkanized or states are going to go independent during the next 100-200 years.

It's actually two thirds.

it was made in a time before all this sjw shit. It was genuine. they weren't trying to prove something
